Using data and presenting that data are essential skills for all nurse executives to develop.
For this Assignment, you will create a proposal to increase informatics use in a practice setting. You will appraise the current use of outcome data from:
• an example at AHRQ, IHI, CMS, or WHO
OR
• a specialty organization of your choice Then define a gap in practice that is supported by the existing data.
Next, determine how an increased use of nursing informatics could strengthen outcome development and sustainability of positive healthcare delivery trends. Think about the current use of evidence-based practice in a practice setting and where the use of data has shown that care delivery could be improved, such as door-to-balloon time placement for STEMI patients, antibiotic delivery, wait times in the emergency department, and so on.

Use at least three of these prompts:
Contrast your experiences of clinical decisions based on personal knowing with your peers’ experiences.
Compare your personal knowing with your peers’ pattern of knowing.
Discuss how your identified strengths and weakness differ (or are the same as) those of your peers.
Present new references that support your opinions.

What is personal knowing; how does your personal knowing affect your personal professional development?
Personal knowing may be described as understanding yourself, acknowledgment, and awareness.  To personally know yourself requires reflection. Investigate your inner experience. Evaluate if your intentions match your output. This analysis can be done by listening to the words you speak in conversation and recognizing where they came from. Evaluate your interactions to see if they match your intentions. When a person can know themselves, they are better able to interact authentically with others. This allows them to truly be seen and understood. This creates an inner peace. This benefits professional relationships because you approach your conversations with confidence. Harmony exists between your actions and your intentions. You are better able to express yourself as a compassionate professional nurse.
Identify and discuss 2 professional strengths and 2 weaknesses that you have?
One of my strengths is that I care deeply about the patients. I have their best interest at heart. I seek to listen carefully and be fully attentive to their needs. Another strength that I have developed is that I am highly motivated. I work hard and am dedicated to my duties as a nurse and as a student.
I need to develop better therapeutic communication skills. As nurses, we often need to address difficult topics. I need to develop my ability to speak confidently and boldly. I also need to work on my emotional intelligence. Stressful situations arise. Emotions can run high. It is so important to be able to control emotions and be able to diffuse the situation.   
How can you apply nursing theory to address your weaknesses and further develop your strengths?
Nursing theories provide a framework from which practice can be established. By following the plan of nursing theory of inquiry and viewing with the purpose to change I will improve.  Reflecting on strengths and weaknesses and creating a plan of action will allow me to be able to improve myself and my practice. To become a skilled communicator, one must develop emotional intelligence. It has been found that as one ages their emotional intelligence increases(Sharour, Omari, Malak, AL-Zayoud, Khalil, Yehia, 2024). This may be due to more life experiences on which to draw understanding and regulation. Well regulated individuals are more adept at making correct decisions, fostering therapeutic relationships, and delivering quality care (Sharour, Omari, Malak, AL-Zayoud, Khalil, Yehia, 2024).
