Physical Environment & Recreation
A community assessment
begins with a basic windshield survey where each community subsystem is
explored.  This tour is focused on helping one to identify characteristics
of the physical environment and those which may can impact health. Recreation
can impact the physical, social, and mental health of individuals and their
communities.  You will explore ways you can use recreation to promote and
support health   Meet with Mayor Franklin Hill who will provide additional
insights into these subsystems.  Visit Lilly’s Restaurant and City Hall –
Parks & Recreation for some helpful data.

Sentinel City® and continue your virtual experience by
taking a bus tour of Sentinel City®.  Feel free to
choose any bus speed and/or get off the bus at any time to walk around. 
As you take the tour, write down your observations, specifically focused on the
subsystem: physical environment and recreation.  Compile your observations
and any demographic information addressing each item listed in the first column
of the rubric.  You are encouraged to add other relevant characteristics
you observe that may not be listed in the first column as you complete this
activity.

Multigenre Persuasive Campaign (~1,000 words)
This assignment asks you to take a stance on the topic or issue that you have identified within your declared, or prospective, academic major (The burnout and stress level within the nurisng community and how that affects nurses ability to be compassinonate and catering to their patients). Drawing from your Investigative Field Essay and Rhetorical Analysis of Field Artifacts, compose three new texts in different genres to convince your audiences to take action.
Example:
Opinion article for a scholarly journal
Infographic (or PowerPoint presentation or research poster)
Opinion article for a newspaper or website (or a speech, radio/podcast ad, email, letter, etc.)
To begin, you will take a stance and develop your argument based on the information you have gleaned from the first and second projects. Then, you will identify your audiences (at least two); that is, you will decide what audiences would (or should) respond to your argument. Making your audience more concrete and specific will make your rhetorical task easier and will result in a more successful project.
Once you have identified your audiences, you will choose three genres that will be most effective for reaching your chosen audiences. Your genres are your choice, but this choice should be informed by your analysis and assessment of your rhetorical situation. Finally, you will compose your three genres, developing a researched argument that will target the specific audience you identify.
Rhetorical Rationale (~1,000 words)
Write a rationale that explains the rhetorical choices you made when composing in each genre and how you see those choices as effective for your purpose, audience, and context. You should explain not only what you did but also why you did it. Finally, your rationale should evaluate the effectiveness of your choices (as indicated by feedback from classmates and instructor), acknowledging when something didn’t work as you intended.
Documentation Style: The three compositions should use formatting and citation styles appropriate for the selected genres; the Rhetorical Rationale may be crafted using the documentation style of your field, but it must be formatted in Times New Roman, 12 pt. font, double-spaced.
