Project management and human resource management are two disciplines that play a vital role in the success of organizations across various industries. The effective coordination of projects and the management of human resources are crucial for achieving project objectives and ensuring the long-term growth and sustainability of businesses.
Directions
In this assignment, you will apply critical thinking to analyze a project management case study to review the human resource management component in developing an informative essay with a minimum of three full pages in which you specifically address the parts listed below. Make sure to include separate title and reference pages, use standard paragraph structure, double spacing, 12-point Times New Roman font, and follow all other current APA style guidelines. Conduct research from credible peer-reviewed sources, the Library, and your textbook to support your responses. Three references are required for the assignment. 
You can select an operations management environment of your choosing; however, ensure it is realistic and applicable, reflecting good judgment, business sense, and critical thinking skills. Consider the following topics and follow the instructions below, remembering to complete all parts of the assignment.
Instructions
Part 1: Start by selecting a project management case study that you can analyze from a human resource perspective. You could choose a successful or failed project and explore how human resource management played a role in the outcome.
Part 2: Next, you will need to research the human resource management aspects of your chosen project. This may include the recruitment and selection process, training and development, employee motivation and engagement, communication, conflict resolution, and performance management.
Part 3: Analyze the strategies that organizations can use to implement diversity, equity, and inclusion in their operations management practices. For example, organizations can implement training programs to promote cultural awareness and inclusivity, create employee resource groups, and establish DEI metrics to measure progress.
Part 4: Once you have gathered all the relevant information, analyze the impact of human resource management on the project. Discuss the challenges faced by HR managers during the project and how they addressed them.
Deliverables:
A written paper that analyzes a project management case study analyzing human resource elements, including diversity, equity, and inclusion, and challenges faced by HR    managers.
Minimum Submission Requirements
This assignment should be a separate MS Word document, preferably in the most current .docx file format.
In addition to the current APA style title page and reference page, ensure your paper covers the assigned topics focusing on quality. The following items provide additional guidance as to writing expectations.
Respond to the questions in a thorough manner, providing specific examples of concepts, topics, definitions, and other elements asked for in the questions. Your paper should be highly organized, logical, and focused.
It must be written in Standard English, demonstrating exceptional content, organization, style, grammar, and mechanics.
Your paper should provide a clearly established sustained viewpoint and purpose.
Your writing should be well-ordered, logical, and unified, as well as original and insightful.
Ensure your paper uses current APA style for content, with properly indented paragraphs, and a minimum of three full pages covering the assigned topics to appropriate depth.
A separate page at the end of your research paper should contain a list of references, in current APA style. Use your textbook, the Library, and the Internet for credible research.
Ensure you have at a minimum three quality references supporting your work: defining words, or using dictionaries, wikis, or encyclopedias, does not count as a quality reference, or meet university standards for credible online research.
Be sure to cite in-text citations where appropriate and reference all sources. Your sources and content should follow proper APA style. Review the current APA style found at the Writing Center. The Writing Center can be accessed in Academic Tools. Select APA Central, then “Write” at the bottom of the page. Your paper should include a title page, double-spaced, in Times New Roman 12-point font, correct citations, Standard English with no spelling or punctuation errors, and correct references on the references page.
If the work submitted for this competency assessment does not meet the minimum submission requirements, it will be returned for revision. If the work submitted does not meet the minimum submission requirements by the end of the term, you will receive a failing score.

Overview
In this assignment, you will apply what you have learned about key concepts regarding operations management. You are encouraged to leverage your work and instructor feedback on this assignment in your course project, which is due in Module Seven.
Scenario
You work as the chief supply chain officer at NationaliTeas, a large international corporation that manufacturers and sells tea worldwide. Its mission is to “Make the world more awake through rejuvenating and refreshing beverages and sustainable practices that uplift workers, communities, and souls.” You have recently hired the company’s first project manager and have given them their first project: Revise current workflows related to packaging at one of your tea factories to be more sustainable and more lean. As this is their first project, you will be helping them complete their task.
Prompt
Read through the Project Charter for Workflow Improvement Word Document, then review the Process Workflow for Tea Production Word Document graphic. A text-only version is available: Process Workflow for Tea Production Text-Only Version Word Document. Based on these documents, recommend removing a total of four steps from the process flowchart that can help make the process more efficient and sustainable. Explain the implications of the proposed changes, and then help the NationaliTeas team address current items in the Issue Log located in the project charter.
Specifically, you must address the following rubric criteria:
Lean Manufacturing: Evaluate the process flowchart to identify steps that do not add value based on the principles of lean manufacturing. Explain why you selected each step.
Sustainability: Evaluate the process flowchart and identify steps that should be removed or changed to improve environmental sustainability. Explain why you selected each step.
Process Changes: Explain the implications, both positive and negative, of removing or changing the steps from the process flowchart you identified in the previous two bullet points. Also explain how those changes would help alignment to the triple bottom line (TBL).
Issue Log: Analyze all entries in the Issue Log from the perspective of a project manager and explain the recommended course of action based on the project charter, noting the impact of the issue on scope, planning communications, and resourcing.
Operations Management Techniques: Discuss how operations management techniques, including project management and lean manufacturing, can add value to NationaliTeas.
