“Exploring Clinical Implications and Applying a Therapy Model to a Selected Topic/Population: A Comprehensive Analysis”

Students should locate at least 5 resources outside of class resources pertaining to their selected topic. Acceptable resources include peer-reviewed journal articles and nonfiction, professional texts. Any resources other than these must be approved by Dr. Janes.
The research paper will focus on defining/describing the selected topic, exploring clinical implications, and applying a therapy model to this population/topic. Students will be expected to attend to the following in their papers:
Thoroughly describe and/or define the selected topic/population. Students should use research to provide a thorough description of the topic/population and to outline how this topic/population may present in therapy. Students should write 3-5 paragraphs about their topic/population.
Students should identify research around the current clinical guidelines for treating this population/presenting problem. As part of this section, students should attend to contextual factors and discuss socioculturally attuned clinical implications. Students should write 3-5 paragraphs about current clinical guidelines.
To prepare for their model application, students provide a brief case vignette that reflects the topic/population they chose for the paper. Ideally, students will select a couple from a media platform (i.e., book, movie, TV show, music, etc.) that fits the population/topic they selected. If students are unable to identify a couple that meets their topic/population, they can write their own case vignette. Students should write 1-2 paragraphs for their case vignette. The case vignette description should include basic demographic information for each partner and basic information about the presenting problem.
Students will apply one clinical model to their case vignette. Students can select any model covered in the Family Therapy Theories I or Couples Therapy courses (Bowen, Contextual, IFS, The Gottman Method, or EFT). Students should discuss (1) how they conceptualize the case, (2) at least 2 hypotheses about the case, (3) at least 3 interventions they would use and why, (4) sociocultural considerations for the vignette, and (5) their stance as the therapist, including how they would balance alliances with the couple system. Students should write 5-7 paragraphs about their model application.

“Analyzing Narrative Characteristics of Complex Comedies: A Case Study of Fleabag, Russian Doll, Dead to Me, What We Do in the Shadows, and Bojack Horseman”

Hi, I’m so sorry to spring this on to you. I just saw on my syllabus that I needed to write a short paper along with the presentation. Here’s the prompt. Academic Sources
Academic journal articles and chapters from books written by scholars are considered academic sources. Encyclopedias, including wikis, do not count as academic sources. Blogs, videos, and other web sources are only academic sources when created by scholars in their area of expertise.
    Grading
You will be graded on the clarity of your thesis; how well you support your argument with references to the readings, the films, and outside academic sources, if any; how effectively you use sources; and the quality of your writing. I will consider spelling, grammar, and style, but the most important thing is your ability to express ideas effectively. “A” work is analytical, identifies patterns, and establishes the social and historical significance of shows. Good criticism addresses cultural representation and social context. “B” work is descriiptive rather than analytical. See the grading rubric on p. 6 for more details.
    Short Paper
You will do one short paper during the semester, 2-3 single-spaced pp. (1200-1500 words, not counting bibliography). Include only sources not listed on the syllabus in a bibliography. Outside sources include academic sources, interviews with creative personnel who worked on the show. To prepare you will have to watch the program episode ahead of time, plus another episode in some prompts.
Use Mittell’s discussion of complex comedy to evaluate the narrative characteristics of a complex comedy not discussed in the reading: Fleabag, Russian Doll, Dead to Me, What We Do in the Shadows, Bojack Horseman
You must watch an episode of the chosen program.
If you choose this topic, specify which of these programs you’d use.

    Human Services Profession
Choose a human services agency in which you would like to be employed.

What theory might you apply while working with clients in your selected agency? Describe an example of how you might apply this theory in your work at this agency.
    Role in the Helping Process
Based on your research, what roles might you utilize at this agency in each stage of the helping process?
    Career Opportunities
Research the careers available in the specific agency, and discuss the qualifications.
Choose an entry-level position you are interested in pursuing, and discuss the qualifications you would need to apply for the position.
Detail the qualifications you possess and which skills you are lacking to qualify for the position.
    Summary of Learning
To conclude this paper, summarize what you have learned in this course that you can apply to your everyday life.
    Milestones
Milestone One: Human Services Organization Identification
In Module Two, you will select one agency in which you would like to be employed and write a one-page overview describing the agency, your interest in it, and the different roles and positions the agency maintains. You will focus on this agency throughout the rest of the agency exploration assignment.
Milestone Two: Human Services Timeline Discussion
In Module Four, you will reflect on the history of the human services field and the history of your chosen organization through a discussion. You will make a post that identifies the founding of your selected organization and highlights an important event or news story that has impacted the human services field.
For this assignment, you will post in the Human Services Timeline Discussion. Your post should do two things. First, it should note the founding of the organization you chose for the final project and include a few sentences explaining who established it, why is was established, and the mission of the organization. Second, it should describe one event in human services history (at the state, national, or international level) that relates to your agency (e.g., a new law or policy, a historical event). This milestone is to help you to discuss similarities and differences between the history of the agency you chose and the history of the human services field.

Title: Annotated Bibliography for Research Paper on [Topic]

    Annotated Bibliography
The annotated bibliography consists of two main parts:
    (1)     the citation, which is a record of the source, formatted in the appropriate style (MLA), and
    (2)     the annotation, which comes after each citation.
The annotation is a brief summary of the source that can:
    (1)     assess the source’s strengths and weaknesses,
    (2)     outline the source’s main arguments,
    (3)     provide relevant background information about the author,
    (4)     describe how the source is relevant to your topic.
Each summary should be 100-150 words in length and should do one or more of the four things listed above.
Your completed annotated bibliography should consist of 15-18 citations.
You can use your annotated bibliography as a reference tool for tracking all the sources you’ll want to use in your paper.  In writing your paper, however, you will probably use fewer (seven minimum) of the sources listed.

“The Evolution of the Star-Spangled Banner: Interpreting the National Anthem through Historical Analysis”

one of the main jobs of historians is to interpret the past by
reviewing primary documents, scholarly secondary sources, and then
creating an analysis of this research. After listening to the
appropriate course lectures and reviewing the assigned reading materials
below, review and analyze the Star-Spangled Banner, the national anthem
of the United States. Consider the following questions: While most
Americans know the first verse and chorus of the song, do the additional
original verses impact the song’s meaning? Does the background of the
song and its origins in the War of 1812 impact its meaning? This assignment requires you to post an original post by of at least 500 words. For full credit, your posts must be substantive, constructive, and
respectful. Do not simply sum up the lectures and readings or repeat
points made there, and do not simply agree or disagree with your
classmates. Be specific, and provide examples that help support your
analysis. Make use of the evidence to engage one another in enriching
discussions. I am looking for you to create your own interpretations and
to discuss original insights, but remember that your analysis must be
supported by the provided source material (e.g., lectures, readings).
Opinions have no value if they lack this support. Adhere to this quote
from President John Adams: “Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may
be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passion, they
cannot alter the state of facts and evidence.” Include parenthetical
references to the lectures and provided sources

Reflecting on My Writing Process: How Theories of Writing Guided My Choices Reflecting on My Writing Process: How Theories of Writing Guided My Choices Throughout the process of writing my final draft, I found myself constantly referring back to

A Post-Writing Statement is a piece of writing that reflects about a project that you recently completed. In your Post-Writing Statement, you should discuss the ways that theories of writing influenced your writing choices.
Review your Pre-Writing Statement. Review your Revision Statement. Review your Final Draft. Review your Reading Notes. Think about how your Final Draft connects to our theories of writing. I suggest brainstorming answers to these questions:
What writing choices did I make?
How did theories of writing influence my choices? Make sure to include the name of the theory, the writer who expressed it, and a brief explanation of the theory (you can include a quotation if you would like).
I have attached my final draft to use for this.
