consider when crafting your thesis statement.
This essay requires you to use a minimum of two sources that we read in class (do not use one
that you have already written a paper on) and to research at least two additional scholarly
sources to support your argument. You must use the university library, local library, or Google
Scholar to locate your sources. While you have no primary source, you should have 4 sources
total. Please do not introduce all four in the intro.
Remember that you are not summarizing the opinions of the author, rather you are adding on or
contributing to the conversation that you are discussing. During the course of your essay, you
will make meaningful connections between the various articles you have discovered and analyze
the material. It is important to ask meaningful questions of yourself in order to deeply analyze
the concepts you are discussing.

Title: “Unlocking Success: Strategies for Cultivating a Growth Mindset in College and Career”
Compose a four-page essay centered on the book Mindset: The New Psychology of Success by Carol S. Dweck, Ph.D. The essay should begin with an introduction that piques the reader’s curiosity, introduces Dr. Carol Dweck and her book, and defines the two mindsets: growth and fixed mindset. The introduction should also contain indirect quotes from chapters 1 to 4 and end with a thesis statement that outlines three strategies that can be employed to cultivate a growth mindset in college and career. The body of the essay should be utilized to identify and analyze three strategies that students can utilize to develop a growth mindset in college. Each strategy should be given its paragraph, which should begin with a clear topic statement followed by supporting sentences and concluding/transitional sentences. The paragraphs should be supported with fully integrated direct quotes from Mindset: The New Psychology of Success, spanning chapters 1 to 4. In addition to the three body paragraphs, there should be a fourth paragraph containing a personal anecdote from the author’s experience that provides examples of how each strategy worked. The anecdote should serve as a personal example of how the strategies outlined in the book can be applied and the benefits that come with adopting a growth mindset. End your essay with a conclusion that leaves a memorable mark on your readers. Inspire them to reflect on the impact of cultivating a growth mindset on their college learning journey.

Title: Designing an Effective Performance Evaluation Program for Managing and Measuring Employee Performance
Prior to beginning work on this discussion forum, review Chapter 5: Management and Teams and Chapter 7: Job Description, Performance Management and Appraisal, Job Evaluation, and Job Design in the course textbook, Job and work analysis: Methods, research, and applications for human resource management (3rd ed.).
Developing a performance evaluation program that includes the organizational process areas related to behaviors, conduct, and outcomes requires specific elements. “Discovering My Roots: A Journey to Understanding My Parents’ Past and Its Influence on My Upbringing”
So, the assignment is to do a 17-page paper about anything.
I chose to do an assignment on getting to know my parents because I know very little about their pasts. I wrote the first two pages so you can read it and get a jist of what needs to be added and what I’m talking about. and if you feel like anything needs to be added please do. its at the point in the essay where I start to slowly introduce the interview. I need the entire interview put into essay format. so not just placing the interview there and saying done. But doing a like analysis of their responses and what you think it means in how they decided to raise me and my siblings. also to get some background I am a 20 year old Muslim from New York in his sophomore year about to be a junior of college. if you need any more info just let me know. -
“Analyzing Social Behavior through the Lenses of Social Theorists: A Comparative Study of Durkheim, Du Bois, Weber, and Hochschild”
For your final essay for this class, you must write a 6-8 page research paper on a topic of your choosing. This essay must consider at least two of the social theorists discussed over the course of the semester (or another, related social theorist, with instructor’s approval) and connect their work to some element of human social behavior.
For example: you might choose to discuss a social ritual such as marriage and analyze it using the social theories of Emile Durkheim and Judith Butler. Or, you might choose to write about a particular social situation, like a workplace, drawing on the work of Karl Marx and Erving Goffman. The specific situation chosen matters less than the connections you are able to draw between it and the theorists we have read in the class. Papers will be judged, primarily, on your ability to demonstrate that you know how to apply the work of social theorists we have read to specific sociological data, and that you are able to compare and contrast theorists effectively.
The final paper is due at the end of the semester, May 22nd at 5pm. It will be graded according to the following rubric:
• Description of relevant concept from social theorist, drawing on relevant quotes, summaries, and secondary scholarship where appropriate. 20 points each
• Careful, accurate description of the social phenomenon you are analyzing with this essay. 10 points
• Analysis of the situation through the combined lenses of your chosen social theorists. 40 points
• Proper essay structure, citations, formatting and spell-checking, and overall care in presentation. 10 points
Papers should have a formal thesis statement at the beginning, should describe the project and the structure of the paper itself, and should be well-structured internally, using signpost statements to mark the development of your argument.
Some theorist discussed is Émile Durkheim, Du Bois,Max Weber ,Arlie Hochschild.
