For this assignment, you will use your Assignment 2 athlete or your Men’s or Women’s Basketball team (Tuskegee Women’s Basketball Team) and will establish a Transition Period–Post Season, Rest, and Recovery action plan.  You will pull from the week 8 discussion articles presented by your classmates for references and information to use within this assignment. As this particular season of periodization planning is new to the world of athletics you are on the forefront of discovery.
    Part 1:
As in previous assignments/discussions, you remain the Head Basketball or Olympic Sports Strength and Conditioning Coach at the College/University where your team/athlete attends.
List and Identify the demands of the sport on the athlete(s) during a typical Competition Period – In Season.
Using the previous season’s record or results, link the results in your reference page, list and describe any additional demands the Competition Period – In Season may have placed on your team/athlete. Use references to back up your information.
Provide a time line for when the Transition Period–Post Season with a focus on Rest and Recovery plan of action can begin and how long will it last? Hint: when was the last competition and when does the Preparatory Period – Off Season need to begin next year?
In your opinion, what are the 5 primary goals and/or considerations for your Team/Athlete during the Transition Period–Post Season with a focus on Rest and Recovery?
Why did you choose these goals and/or considerations as primary?
What are the major influences in your choices of primary goals and/or considerations? Explain.
Design and establish a series of assessments, to go within the Athlete Assessment Plan to address the possible needs of the team/athlete during a Transition Period–Post Season with a focus on Rest and Recovery.  Provide examples of assessments and how the data gathered will be relevant to program planning via the following outline.
    Identify the Assessment*
    What data will it gather
Why is this data important to the Athlete?
Why is this data important to the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach?
Why is this data important to the Head Basketball/Individual Sport Coach?
Why is this data important to the Head Athletic Trainer?
Time of year when data will be gathered
Describe how you will collect and store data collected in the assessment results
If and when data will be released and to whom it will be released
*Repeat for each assessment within the Athlete Assessment Plan
    Part 2:
    Create a sample training program:
Present your periodization program using a Mesocycle training plan for the Transition Period–Post Season with a focus on Rest and Recovery for your athlete/team. You are free to design this training program in any way you would like. However, it must have intentional programming, including acute variables that involve the FITTE principle. Frequency, Intensity, Time, Type, and Enjoyment.
    Summarize the following:
Provide rational for your type of periodization program and activity/event choices during your designed Mesocycle training plan for the Transition Period–Post Season with a focus on Rest and Recovery using industry approved sources.
Explain why you chose each specific activity/event for your athlete. Use your 5 primary goals and/or considerations for your team/athlete during the Transition Period–Post Season with a focus on Rest and Recovery to back up your choices, along with required readings and industry approved resources.
    Requirements:
The narrative of your paper should include common sense answers. Please support the rationale for your thoughts and opinions. Cite the sources of any definitions or ideas that are not your own using appropriate academic sources (Reference page must be present – required readings as sources are encouraged).  Use these instructions and attached Assignment 3 Format and Layout Guidelines for assistance with organization and submission of the assignment.
    Formatting:
The writing component must meet all rules of APA formatting (7th edition)
    title page
headings: See outline above for heading title ideas
    page numbers
    in-text citations
    reference page
Including the title and reference pages, your entire submission will be no shorter than 5 pages.

  • Title: “Sports Development Initiatives: A Comparative Analysis and Project Plan”

Produce a report for the sports development officer that explains both local and national sport development
initiatives. Initially the report should focus on two initiatives that have been implemented in the local area, such as
those introduced by the local authority or at a grass roots sports club. You should then look on a wider scale and
research national initiatives such as those introduced by the National Lottery funding. For each initiative you should
    look to consider:
    i. Aims & Objectives
    ii. Strengths and weaknesses
    iii. Overall effectiveness
You will need to demonstrate that you understand other stakeholders or funding sources involved in such initiatives.
Finally, you should look to explain how these organisations can assist with funding, sponsorship or providing
volunteers to support with the events and research.
    PART B – Project Planning
Having successfully researched actual sports development initiatives you now need to create a project plan for your
own initiative. Initially you will need to select a specific target group for your project and identify which level of the
sport development continuum it is aimed at. You will then need to justify the choice of the activities within your
project and consider the advantages or disadvantages that it has, planning for any alternative actions that you may
    have to take.
Comparing your own project to those covered in Task 1 will allow you to analyse its effectiveness. In order to do this
you will need to look at the key similarities and differences when compared to both local and national initiatives.
Focusing on the following areas of the different initiatives will allow you to complete this element of the task:
    i. Aims and objectives
ii. Link to a specific target group
iii. Level of sport development continuum the project is aimed at
    iv. Funding source
    v. Sport specific versus non-sport specific
    vi. Session plans
    vii. Series of activities
    viii. Equipment
    ix. Staffing requirements
    x. Facility Needs
As with any project, measuring the success of it is vital. You need to carefully consider realistic and effective methods
that could be taken from the following:
    i. Participation numbers
    ii. Enjoyment
iii. Exit route engagementiv. Repeat attendance
    v. Life-long participation
Selecting the most appropriate methods is essential to allow you to make informed judgements as to whether you
have achieved the overall aims and objectives of the project. On completion of this you must evaluate the activities in
your project plan to justify their inclusion.

  • “The Impact of Exercise on the Immune System: Finding the Balance” Introduction: Exercise is known to have numerous health benefits, including improved cardiovascular function, increased muscle strength and endurance, and reduced risk of chronic diseases. However, the effects of

The main question for Week 3 is how does exercise affect the immune system? We know that exercise has numerous health benefits such as improved cardiovascular function, increased muscle strength and endurance, and reduced risk of chronic diseases, but what about the immune system? There is evidence of regular exercise enhancing the immune system, and there is other evidence suggesting that intense or prolonged exercise may suppress immune function. Find your own evidence to back up what happens to the immune system after stressful exercise and some recommendations to help with recovery of the immune system. Make sure to cite and reference as needed.
For follow-up posts, respond to your classmates with evidence that backs up your position on what your peers are explaining regarding post-workout immune function. You may agree or disagree with your peers but be sure to back up your response/s with information that you found in research articles. Remember, when you are giving your opinion there are correct and incorrect responses, so if a classmate gives you feedback, do not take it offensively, but let it serve as a group learning project. Make sure your response is not only an “I agree” with minimal detail. Follow the discussion board forum guidelines to earn full credit.
