Select one of these three groups: (1) an immigrant individual from a racial or ethnic minority group; (2) a gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender (LGBT+) individual; or (3) an individual with a disability.
Review the Walden University Library resources listed in the Learning Resources.
Then conduct a library search for an empirical study (i.e., one based on observed phenomena using the scientific method) focused on one of the groups, above, and the unique psychosocial factors or issues a social worker should be aware of when working with that group.

Describe four specific psychosocial factors that should be taken into account in order to understand the psychosocial context when working with the group you selected. Be sure to follow these requirements:
Two factors you describe should be psychologically related
Two factors you describe should be socially related
Identify and explain how you would apply a psychosocial intervention that addresses one of the four specific psychosocial factors you described above.
Identify one advantage of using a psychosocial framework in social work practice with the group you chose.

Identify the three most important points or lessons from the TED Talk.
How does the TED Talk align with your own experiences or beliefs about social enterprise?
Can you relate any part of the talk to a social issue or project you are passionate about? (talk about healthcare access and affordability, currently placed in hospital setting as a social work intern)
Do you agree or disagree with the speaker’s perspective on social enterprise? Provide reasons for your agreement or disagreement.

Students need to know how to explain trends in dating and mate selection. This assignment will help you learn this skill. Search online magazine or newspaper archives and find three articles, each written in different decades (between the 1950s and now), that describe dating and mate selection issues during those decades. 
Highlight the key information from each of the articles.
Describe the effects of singlism.
Identify similarities from each decade.
Identify differences from each decade.
Compare and contrast the dating trends in the articles to current dating and mate selection trends.
Lastly, identify which theory of mate selection best reflects how you would choose a mate and why.

Social welfare policy – Economic Inequality 
The paper should include:
Abstract (Executive Summary). This will include:
A statement of current policy
Reasons for initiating changes
Pros and cons of each option (or of the policy)
Recommended course of action
Reasoning for selecting that course of action
Background section
Statement of purpose
Review the Current Policy
What are we currently doing, why are we doing it this way, what is the public’s perception of the policy?
Assess how well it is or is not working.
Statement on the Necessity for Change – What circumstances (e.g., changes in government, leadership, stability, etc.) have changed that make a new approach advisable or necessary?
Discussion: This is the content and analysis section of your paper.
Discuss your criteria for evaluation and your assumptions.  
This is where you will also discuss your point of view.
Discuss the alternatives to the current policy option by enumerating and explaining each policy option in turn.
Pros and cons of each policy option should be discussed next. Identify the political, economic, and security implications for each option.
Each policy option should be compared and contrasted to the other options as well as to the current policy.
This is where you will talk about the potential outcomes (intended and unintended) of your proposal (and of the other options).

Final Paper (40 Points) – Due 6/18
Each student will write an individually authored policy analysis paper addressing the US social policy of their group.
Comprehensive Description (including relevant statistics, date, demographics, etc.) of the policy from both federal and state of California vantage
Policy Analysis using model developed in class
Goals – What are the goals of the policy or program? What is the logical link between the goals and positive outcomes for clients?
Benefits/Services – What benefits or services does the policy provide?
Eligibility Rules – What are the eligibility rules? In other words, who gets the benefits or services?
Service Delivery System – How are services/benefits delivered?
Financing – How are services/benefits financed?
Outcomes & Feedback
What evidence is there that each element of the policy leads to positive outcomes for the client population, is cost-effective, and is sustainable?
Is the policy politically, socially, and economically feasible?
Does the policy incorporate key social work values such as self-determination and social justice?
How is the target/client population involved in evaluating the policy/program?
What are Critical Race Theory and Intersectionality implications? How can a Critical Race Theory, and Intersectionality lens be integrated as part of the analysis?
Utilize appropriate required readings and research (at least 5 peer reviewed journal articles)
The paper will be 10-12 pages, double-spaced, with APA format and guidelines.
