Before social workers can understand the concepts of difference and diversity in others, they must understand their cultural landscape. For this assignment, interview a family member or a person close to you to construct a map of your cultural foundation. Discuss your racial makeup, ethnic group, religious or spiritual traditions (or absence of), your gender identity, and sexual orientation if you are comfortable sharing this information. 
Create a visual representation of this information. You may use any program you like, such as PowerPoint. There are several free online templates you can use to create a poster or other visual representation.
In your illustration, clearly identify two significant ways in which your cultural identity has shaped you as a person and the lens from which your worldview has been formed. Document how these ways may present challenges in your future work as a practicing social worker. Then, indicate how these cultural identity traits will serve to strengthen your work with clients.

Identify an instrument from the Smith-Osborne and Whitehill Bolton’s article that would be appropriate when employing a single-subject design to evaluate how effective the intervention is in increasing the client’s level of resiliency.

Assignment Content
Apply the Four Dimension Model of Social Work to a vignette provided in Case Study Options provided below in the files or to a personal scenario. Be sure to address all appropriate areas including methods, units of concern, fields of practice, and social problems.
Write no less than two pages, but no more than four pages. 

Assignment Instructions: Write a four- to five-page literature review on a topic of interest in
social work practice. In your literature review include:
1. A very brief background (context) for the issue you’ve chosen. This should contain
information about the issue, statistics about any relevant populations or the topic/issue,
information about the size and scope of the issue, or other fact-based or evidence-based
analysis that provides a supporting rationale for the literature review.
2. Provide a discussion about what is known about the issue, citing at least 10 peer-reviewed
research articles in this section of the paper. You may also use gray literature reports,
briefs, etc. as additional sources. In this section, you should synthesize the literature,
identifying key themes and issues.
3. Indicate what is missing from the knowledge base—that is, what needs to be known,
what do we need more evidence on and why. This section should link directly back to the
literature review (question 2) and may include additional citations and sources as needed.

4. Present an analysis/critique of the literature within the framework of the core values of
the Code of Ethics (select 2 of the core values) to apply and analyze —to what degree
does the literature reflect those values? Specifically, based on your synthesis of the
literature, what is important for social work researchers to reflect on as they engage in
further research in this area?
5. End the literature review by articulating a potential research question based on this
knowledge need that would help to fill the knowledge gap. This section should
summarize and draw conclusions and provide a research question that can be used for
your Research Study Design assignment.

Identify a current social issue that involves the concepts of power, privilege, and/or oppression of an individual or group of individuals within society. Explain the social work skills needed to provide culturally-relevant treatment services to a client system (individual, family, or group) and the significant considerations a social worker must be cognizant of when providing treatment services. Investigate any related government policies that may influence your explanation. 
Examples may include working with a transgender individual who planned on military service but now faces a ban on enlistment, or a DACA student unable to continue college because of current immigration policies. Points will be assigned to reflect the depth of thinking displayed, resources identified, and integration of social constructs and knowledge of cultural considerations in outlining treatment planning for the client system. 
Support your assignment with at least three scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including seminal articles, may be included.

Compare Native American and European culture, highlighting ideas and behaviors that may impact mental health treatment. Chapters 13 & 14
