  • Title: Enhancing Communication Skills for Sam: A Comprehensive Intervention Plan

Hi! I need help reviewing my final project. This project has 3 parts. Part 1 & 2 are complete and attached below. Part 1 is from the heading “Description” to the communication matrix graph on page 4. Part 2 is from the heading “Enhancing Communication Skills for Sam: A Tailored Intervention Approach” to the end. Part 3 needs to be added. The communication matrix is attached below along with the rubric and the document containing part 1 and 2. Part 1: I need help reviewing part 1 and editing based on my professors feedback which was “objectives need to be clearly written such that anyone can read them and implement them in an identical manner. For example, what signals will he use? What does socializing look like?”
Part 2: can be left alone. My professor had no feedback. Part 3: Please help me add this section which must include: Present level of performance with completed communication matrix
Three communication objectives, each containing the following:
    Student, condition, behavior, and criterion
Intervention strategy (name, description, rationale, procedures)
3 recommendations of how you would help the student achieve the objective (at least 1 incorporates technology).Provide 3 recommendations of how you would help the student achieve each objective (for a total of 9 recommendations). At least 1 of the 3 recommendations for each objective should incorporate technology. The technology could be primarily for student use (e.g., AAC device) or teacher use (e.g., data collection). You must have at least 6 different recommendations across the 3 objectives.

  • Title: Analyzing Correlational Studies and Presenting Findings to Stakeholders

It is important for you to able to analyze a correlational study and explain how it differs from a cause-and-effect outcome.
Using the same scenario you used in Part I and II of this project, you will now present your findings to your company or clinic staff, including CEOs (think about your audience).
    Part A:
Provide a response to the following prompts.
Imagine your research team has been tasked with finding the correlation of 2 variables from your scenario. The data below includes 4 research participants’ data for variable 1 (high scores mean better of variable 1) and data for variable 2 (high scores mean more of the variable). The scores are as follows:
    Person
    Variable 1
    Variable 2
    1
    1
    10
    2
    1
    8
    3
    2
    4
    4
    4
    -2
Describe the process your research team would go through by completing the following:
Create a scatter diagram of the scores.
Describe in words the general pattern of correlation, if any.
    Figure the correlation coefficient.
Explain the logic of what you have done, writing as if you are speaking to someone who has never heard of correlation (but who does understand the mean, standard deviation, Z scores, and hypothesis testing).
Provide 3 logically possible directions of causality, indicating for each direction whether it is a reasonable explanation for the correlation based on the variables involved. Explain your answer.
    Part B:
Assume your research is complete and you have written your research article. Now it’s time to make a public presentation for your company/clinic.
Consider your audience and the language you will need to use to make this presentation clear for all participants.
Create a 10- to 12-slide Microsoft PowerPoint presentation (cover slides and references do not count in this number) using the information you gathered and submitted in Parts I and II.
Include the following in your presentation:
Describe the problem and provide some brief background information about the situation.
    Explain the research hypothesis.
Describe your sample and your sampling method.
Explain the 4 steps of the research process you followed.
Define the critical value and the test statistic your analysis provided.
Include your scatterplot and correlation findings from Part A.
Provide the main finding of the study. What did you prove or fail to prove?
Provide recommendations based on your findings.
Each slide must have 4 to 5 bullet points with 4 to 5 words for each point plus speaker notes. The bulk of your explanation will go in the speaker notes. This is where you will write and put what you would say when giving this presentation to your audience. This is an academic presentation; therefore, keep the bells and whistles to a minimum and make this a clean, professional-looking presentation. It is a visual presentation, so tasteful and related images are appropriate.
Format any citations in your presentation according to APA guidelines. Also, if photos are used, they need to be referenced according to APA guidelines.

  • Applying Career Counseling Theory to an Interviewee’s Work and Life Career History

This assignment is the second component of your course project. For this assignment, you will use the findings from your interview to complete an initial analysis. Choose one career counseling theory and apply it to your interview findings.
Your interview should have included questions to help you understand your interviewee’s work, education, and family history. Your goal is to understand your interviewee’s story and the details of how that story evolved. You will not need to use any formal assessments in your interview, but if your subject has completed any, you may choose to use them to help inform your analysis.
Address the following aspects in your paper:
Introduce and describe your interviewee’s situation, including his or her interests, preferences, personality, skills, and values. You do not need to address all five of these aspects, but you should address at least two. If your interviewee has completed a formal career-related assessments (Myers-Briggs, Strengthfinder, et cetera), you may include those as well.
Choose a theory to apply to your interview and rationalize your choice (Holland, theory of work adjustment, Super, Gottfredson, the relationship approach, or SCCT). (In the Unit 9 assignment, you will choose a second theory from this list to apply to your interview.)
Analyze the interviewee’s work and life career history within the framework of your chosen theory.
Apply your chosen career development theory to the interests and preferences of your interviewee. How would you connect theory to practice?
Include at least five academic sources to support your paper, using proper APA format for all citations and references. Most of your articles should be peer-reviewed sources; you can use the resource provided to help you locate these types of sources. You need to demonstrate a breadth of scholarship available on the topic.
Please note that after you submit this assignment and receive feedback on it, you will be expected to incorporate a revised version in your final analysis in Unit 9.
    Assignment Requirements
Research and references: Provide a minimum of 5 scholarly references in proper APA style.
Number of pages: The body of your paper must be 5–7 double-spaced pages.
Font and font size: Times New Roman, 12 point.
Formatting: Present your citations and references in APA format.
Written communication: Written communication must reflect graduate-level writing skills and successfully convey the message.

  • Title: The Importance and Complexity of Reasoning as a Higher-Order Cognitive Function

Metacognition is loosely defined as “thinking about thinking.” Cognition as a whole is also a very complex process. Cognition is somewhat of an umbrella term that includes all mental functions performed with our mind. It is what makes us different than other species. Certainly, other species have senses. They perceive things in the environment, and they have memory that enables them to survive. Some species even demonstrate some limited complex higher-order functions such as reasoning and problem-solving.
However, humans are unique in that they can use each lower-order cognitive function by itself to sense something, to perceive something, or to remember something. No other species can use and manipulate the basic cognitive functions performed everyday and combine them to think. When humans think, they combine and use a number of lower-order functions in order to successfully employ higher-order functions that allow them to survive, adapt, and even outthink other species and change our environment.
For this discussion, look at the topics we covered throughout the term, select one higher-order function (reasoning, problem-solving, decision-making, etc.), and think about that higher-order function. Then, submit a discussion post that includes the following:
The name of your selection (higher-order cognitive function: reasoning, problem-solving, etc.)
Why you believe it is most important compared to the rest of the higher-order functions we have discussed
An explanation/description of what occurs when the selected higher-order function is performed
An example of someone performing the function (solving a problem, reasoning, etc.) (It can be aviation-related but does not need to be.)
A discussion about the complexity of this selected function.
Please respond to this discussion with your initial post by the fourth day of the module week so that your fellow students have the opportunity to read and respond to your post as needed. Provide at least 2 (two) reputable scholarly sources to support your position.

  • “Uncovering the Layers: Exploring My Identity Through Writing”

an order to learn more about you beyond your grades, test scores and accomplishments, we ask that you provide a written essay on a topic of your choice.  Whatever the topic may be, it must tie back to you in some way. We are looking for your ability to write clearly and concisely, using your own voice.  The length of your essay should range between 250-650 words.

  • “Exploring the Consensus and Controversies in Scientific Research: A Study on the Findings and Theories within Psychology” “The Impact of Social Media and Covid-19 on Mental Health: Examining Exaggerated Claims and Real Dangers” The Impact of Social Isolation on Teenagers’ Social Development during the COVID-19 Pandemic: A Current Perspective

Science depends on research, it’s how discoveries are made and theories are tested. Often it’s useful to pull together the findings from several different studies to get a more general picture of what’s been found within some particular area of inquiry. Do the various studies agree regarding basic findings or are there contradictions? Does one general theory cover all the relevant data or are there competing theories and interpretations? These are the questions a research paper is designed to answer by summarizing reports from a number of related sources. That’s the task here. You are to write a research paper on a specific topic from within one of the general topic areas listed. Writing Your Paper
Your paper should summarize a minimum of three sources. It should be around five double-spaced pages in length using a 14 point font (nothing too small or too big). I also prefer half-inch margins. Given all that it should come out to around 1500 words. Since this is a psychology course I want you to reference your sources according to APA (American Psychological Association) style. More on that later. However, that is my only concern regarding APA style. Other than that, write this as you would any other paper for a course. You don’t need a title page, an abstract, running header or even page numbers. Keep it simple! But do remember to have a title and to put your name on it. 🙂 I would encourage you to work with a partner. That generally produces better papers as you edit each other’s work. However, I also realize coordinating efforts can be complicated. So, working with a partner is optional. If you decide to do so, get together early on so you can decide on the specific issue to research and plan how you’re going to divide up the work. Working with a partner should be a true collaboration, a joint effort. That is not the case if you write the first half, and your partner writes the second half. You’ll have to find ways to coordinate your efforts and pull it all together into a comprehensive paper. The requirements and grading criteria will be the same whether you work alone or with a partner. Partners will both receive the same grade for the collaborative effort. However, the way Canvas works each partner will need to submit a copy of the paper with both names on it to insure proper credit.
Regarding your sources, you should cite at least three, but you certainly can have more. Proper sources include textbooks, scholarly book chapters, peer-reviewed scientific journal articles, and legitimate videos from sources like PBS and Ted Talks. Use good sense and avoid Wikipedia, personal or corporate blogs as well as social media. The Cuyamaca LIbrary Resources page within this Module provides guides for determining if a source is legitimate, ways to search the college databases of psychology related journals and properly citing your sources.
In particular, you’ll need to cite your sources in the paper as you use them and in a reference list at the end of the paper. For APA style that means using just the last name(s) of the author(s) and the year such as ‘according to Jones (2024) …’ in the body of the paper. That’s it, nothing else. Any and all additional information goes in the citation in the reference list at the end. That should be alphabetical by author and each citation should contain all the information a person would need to find that particular source. Start with the name(s) of the author(s), then the year of publication, the article title, the journal title and the page numbers. Similar details if you cite a video. Simply providing a link or url address is not providing a reference. Those can change at any time and I may want to access the article from a different website. I’ve also set up a voluntary, non-graded discussion board in this Module for questions about the research paper. I’ll monitor that and try to provide answers. But help each other out as well. Some of you are more experienced with writing this kind of paper than others. That discussion board could also be used to connect with a partner, exchange ideas, share resources and anything else related to the paper.
When writing your paper, your intended audience should be fellow students. Do your best to be clear and concise. Don’t assume any knowledge on the part of the reader. Define concepts and spell out acronyms the first time you use them. Even a non-expert should be able to easily follow along and understand the ideas you’re presenting. Although your paper should follow the basic rules of grammar and proper spelling, keep in mind that I’m not an English professor. I’m not going to be overly zealous or technical when it comes to matters of grammar. But it should be of higher quality than a text message. 🙂
The paper is due at the end of Week 15 by 11:59 pm Sunday evening. That’s the week before the final week, giving me time to read and grade them. There’s plenty of time, but the earlier you get started the easier it will be to find resources and pull them all together. Choosing Your Topic
There are two general topic areas from which to select your topic. Now, you cannot address a large global issue effectively in 1500 words. So, once you’ve decided which general area interests you, you’ll need to narrow that down to a specific aspect of the larger issues to research for your paper. You can always ask for help in the Writing the Research Paper Discussion Board, or message me through Canvas Inbox, if you’re having trouble narrowing your topic to something manageable or finding relevant sources. General Topic Area 1
In the United States there has recently been growing concern regarding the effects of social media on young people. A number of states joined together in a lawsuit against Meta, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and TikTok. The U.S. congress is considering legislation to ban TikTok entirely. The government claims include national security issues, collection of data from children and teens, the prevalence of misinformation, foreign governments influencing public opinion and elections among the threats. When TikTok put out a message for users to contact their congressional representatives to protest and thousands upon thousands of children, teens and young adults did so it really didn’t help their case. Social scientists have also raised concerns about social media. One claim is that social media employs aspects derived from gaming, such as particular colors and sounds, to stimulate the brains of users. In essence, the apps are addictive. A new term, FOMO (Fear of Missing Out), is now used to describe the feelings of anxiety felt by young people when they don’t have access to social media. The images of people presented are often cherry picked, retouched and otherwise enhanced. They represent an unrealistic and unattainable body image, particularly to young females. The resultant rise in cases of depression and body dysmorphia has led to a significant increase in eating disorders. The representation of unhealthy choices and lifestyles to impressionable young people is another issue. Cyberbully poses an inescapable form of harassment for the victims. Finally, there are concerns about the effects on creativity, independent thought and critical thinking. The prevalence of anxiety, depression and suicide among young people are all at record highs. How has social media contributed to this? For the assignment, pick one of these areas and examine what the danger might really be. Are the claims we hear from the government or mainstream media exaggerated? Is there scientific research to support that a danger exists? What is the degree of danger, the potential threat? Do the research findings match your personal experiences with social media? Yes, your own experiences are relevant to this debate. General Topic Area 2
The Covid-19 lockdowns and the disruptions in people’s lives a few years ago had devastating effects on mental health and well-being. There were problems concerning stress, anxiety, depression, social isolation, addiction, drug abuse, domestic abuse, child abuse and education. Certain groups, generally those already disadvantaged, were disproportionately affected because they lacked the resources required to effectively manage all of it. For the assignment select one specific facet of all this that really interests you. Then extensively research the latest findings. Using those resources, write a research paper on what we have learned over the course of this experience. That means current stuff. What are the experts saying right now about what happened, how it was handled and the lingering issues still affecting people? I would suggest examining one factor and how it affected a particular age group. For example, what was the effect of social isolation on the normal course of social development among teens during the Covid lock downs? Or, what was the effect on academic achievement for grade school children as a result of distance learning during Covid?
    Final Comments
I think there are ample opportunities here to find something of interest from within the two general topic areas. However, if there is some topic that you have a keen interest in and would like to research to learn more that would also be acceptable. After all, the best papers are always based on topics that students have a genuine interest in pursuing. Just message me by way of Canvas Inbox to get your topic approved.
