 There are many forms of abuse in the current US medical system. Some of these abuses are initiated by medical professional and some are initiated by the consumer. Explore “both sides” of this issue as you research the topic this week.

The importance of assessment in the development of a treatment plan cannot be overestimated. The need for assessment must be conducted at the beginning of treatment in order to have data with which to gauge patient progress during treatment or upon its completion.
For this assignment, students will refer to Ch. 2 in the e-textbook. Use well-organized paragraphs and in your own words explain the assessment process. You will submit in a composition format, double-spaced, using a minimum of 3 pages.  You are free to use materials from the chapter and other external sources to support your response. This assignment must be submitted in an APA format. Include a reference page.
Part I
1) Explain the process of assessment and include three or more of the basic questions used to gather information from the client.
2) Discuss the key objectives and goals for the clinical interview; include structured, unstructured, and semi-structured interview protocols. Which clinical interview uses the Diagnostic and Statical Manual for the patient?
3) Review the Guidelines for Multicultural Clinical Interview. Discuss at least three guidelines that would be best suitable when assessing clients who migrate from another country and are not familiar with American culture. 
How would you use this opportunity to exercise cultural competence?
Part II
Watch the video attached entitled, “Beating Opioid Addiction: Joy’s Story”. You have been assigned to Joy’s as her Substance Abuse Counselor. She has been referred to you due to her struggle with unemployment as a result of the pandemic. The stress and anxiety of the horrific events surrounding COVID-19 and losing her best friend to the virus has caused her to a relapse. 
Use the Rapid Reference 2.2 outline for a Recommended Semi-structured Clinical Interview and prepare a treatment assessment plan for Joy. Complete all areas of the assessment, even if your response is “N/A”. Your response to Part II should be formatted as an actual assessment plan.

General Directions: Students will need to read the Smith (2014) article in the Handbook on Aging (Harris, 2018) and the article by Calasanti & Slevin (2006). 
(Additionally, students will need to take the Living-to-100 Simulation Test in order to successfully complete this assignment.)  test is attached in attachment below.

For this week, you have been asked to read another version of “Snow White” and another version of “Cinderella.”
So, for this discussion forum post, again, you should choose either “Snow White” or “Cinderella” and focus your discussion on comparing the version you read during Week 3 and the version in Week 4.
As a note…both versions of “Snow White” are by the Grimm Brothers (as per the resources I located). However, “Cinderella” in the Week 3 fold is by the Grimm Brothers and this week’s version is by Charles Perrault — be sure to be clear which version you are talking about.
Your discussion should pick three points of comparison/contrast that focus only on the literary versions–DO NOT THINK ABOUT THE FILMS. The post you write should cite quotes or examples from both versions of the tale you choose to analyze. It should be structured with a short introduction, three body paragraphs (one for each point of comparison/contrast) and a conclusion that tells me which version you preferred and why.

Respond by Day 5 to a colleague by explaining two strategies your colleague might use to evaluate the students’ learning.

THEORIES OF EMOTION
What raw materials combine to create human emotions? How does the brain construct emotion? Certain theories suggest that emotions hinge on the axes of the following pairs of dimensions: pleasure-misery and arousal-sleep. Does this formula capture the variability of human emotion?
Consider the interplay between cognition and emotion. Some theories posit that emotions consist of automatic responses to stimuli. Other theories suggest that cognitive processes influence the ways in which people perceive emotions.
For this Discussion, select a theory of emotions. Consider why the theory you selected is optimal for the classification of emotions.

Are stereotyped depictions of groups of people in social media just a common part of our culture? Do videos, blogs, and news forums need to depict individuals of Middle Eastern, Asian, Black, White, or foreign one way? Does mental illness need to be depicted only as a vehicle for violent behavior?
This week’s activity is using personal social media to look at stereotypes, cultural issues and norms, and global norms. We’re going to do that by using your personal social media – Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, a blog, etc. Look at what people are posting and see what stereotypes and cultural assumptions are there. Check out the ads along the sides as well.
Now try posting something on social media asking about cultural assumptions, stereotypes, race, etc. (see some possibilities below) and see how the responses go. Did people jump to tell things they notice or were people a little reticent to share? So people agree that stereotypes are rampant, or did they not notice them. Did you open anyone’s eyes? Did friends in different countries share similar beliefs? Why do you think?
Possible posts could be something like one or more of these:
I’m studying stereotypes and cultural norms on social media.
Have you seen stereotypes on social media?
Do your friends and contacts share some social norms that you notice?
What do your ads tell you – any stereotypes there?
Can you share your thoughts on any of these with me?
Be sure to do this early enough in the week so you can gauge the responses. We’ll use the discussion board and your assignment to further analyze this activity.
 
Module 03 Content
During this module, you were to do an experiment using your own social media (Module 03 Activity). Looking back at your social media experiment from the week, how did your responses go? Did you notice any differences among groups or countries? What stereotypes did people comment on?
Also include your response to the experiment – were you surprised or did you find what you thought you would? Did that expectation affect what you found? How can you tell?
