Exploring Historical Approaches to Film History: A Case Study of The Jazz Singer (1927)
Film Screening: The Jazz Singer
Directed by Alan Crosland (1927)
-Discussion Post
you read that there are various approaches to studying film history: Carefully review these approaches (The aesthetic approach, the technological approach, the economic approach, the social history approach). After reviewing the Historical approaches outlined in your textbook apply one (or more) of these to the film, THE JAZZ SINGER.
Research on line to learn more about the History of this film. Note: Where are you finding your sources? Is it peer reviewed? When researching and writing for any class, keep in mind: AI Generators do not provide vetted sources. So, you really have no idea what it is mining for and regurgitating. AI also hallucinates; making up facts …with confidence! When researching, remember to always consider the following:
– Who is the author? What is their point of view? – Why was the source created? Who is the intended audience?
– Where was it published? In what medium?
– How is it relevant to your research? What is its scope?
– When was it written? Has it been updated?
– Did they cite their sources? Who did they cite?

2. How and why was this movie made the way it was made?
3. How as this film shaped film history?
4. Does this film entertain and yet educate? What did you learn from this film and research?

The answer should discuss with reference to the Varieties of Capitalism framework
and at least two Asian economies. The two asian economies will be Singapore and India. I will attach the lecture notes for both these economies, and be sure to be relevant to them. Both the lecture notes have a heading of Inter firm relations with examples. Try to discuss the examples mentioned in the slides. They clearly mention inter firm relations for both the economies. The lecture notes pdf will also have an overview to compare both the chosen economies (Singapore and India). You must refer to that. You must show engagement with theory, including an awareness of the work of key scholars in this field, and must provide a well-argued analysis drawing on specific examples.
Your work must be correctly cited, using Harvard style of referencing.
A list of references – correctly formulated – must be submitted as your final page.
The references list is not included in the word count of your essay.

VERY IMP- The lecture notes pdf attached has 70 pages because it also includes material from semester 1 which won′t be assessed any more. It also includes an overview on how to compare them and the entire structure on how to write the essay. It dissects how to frame every section so please don′t write from a generic view and refer to the structure and notes properly. The file name is ′′Asian Management Lecture Notes.′′
Remember the essay should discuss the answers with reference to varieties of capitalism framework, chapters from it has been attached. Title: Understanding Sexuality in Human Services: Navigating Difficult Conversations with Clients Response: Dear Shannon, Thank you for your questions regarding the role of Human Services Professionals in understanding sexuality with clients from all backgrounds, common themes in human
Shannon and Ashley are Associate in Arts in Human Services interns in their third quarter at a local community college. Your immediate supervisor at Helping Communities Grow, LLC has been their Field Instructor for their internship experience for three weeks now. The interns come in from 9:00 am until 11:30 am on Thursdays. On one Thursday, you were asked by your supervisor to be the point-of-contact for both interns while she attended an all-day conference. Ashley scheduled to shadow your co-worker, Clifford, and Shannon came into your office and asked if she could practice doing intake with a client waiting in the waiting area. Pleased with Shannon’s initiative, you state, “Sure, I will coach you through the intake interview. Ask the client to come into my office, please.”. The client comes in and Shannon is doing a great job asking the questions on the form. Eight minutes into the interview you notice Shannon’s non-verbal cues and that she is struggling with asking questions relative to the client’s sexuality and sexual history. After the intake interview, Shannon acknowledges her discomfort in inquiring about topics of sexuality when processing with you her thoughts and feelings. Shannon opens her notebook and respectfully asks you the following three questions:
What is the Human Services Professional’s role in understanding sexuality with clients from all types of backgrounds?
What are the common themes in human sexuality that Human Services Professionals face when working with diverse clients?
What specific professional behaviors must be shown to exhibit respect with clients—even when the Human Services Professional may be uncomfortable with sexual conversations or topics related to sexuality with all types of clients?
Initial Posting: Please post your response to the three questions being asked by Shannon with a detailed initial posting. Illustrate your summation with a post that provides comprehensive feedback so that she has a firm understanding.
