A primary goal of a behavioral skills assessment is to determine whether the lack of a specific behavioral response is due to a skill deficit (e.g., the individual has never emitted the behavior in the past, the behavior is not under appropriate stimulus control) or due to a motivational issue (i.e., the behavior is in the individual’s repertoire, but the current reinforcement contingencies are not setting the occasion for the behavior to occur). Describe a behavior that could be targeted for increase either due to a skill deficit or a motivational issue. Propose assessment procedures that could help you determine whether the situation is the former or the latter.
Behavior should be one targeted in Applied behavior Analysis, such as adaptive behavior

“Reimagining the Story of Willie Lowman in the 21st Century: Exploring the Intersection of Career and Personal Values” 1. If Willie Lowman was a ′Business Ethics Professor′ then the story might go like this… Will
Let′s bring the story of Willie Lowan into the 21st century.
Thoughtfully and carefully respond to the following questions, writing at least two to three paragraphs in response to each one:
″If Willie Lowman was a ′___[insert your major or ″dream career″ here]___′ then the story might go like this….″
Ponder this scenario and how your career might unfold along the lines of Willie′s life and career.
1. Of the possibilities that you imagine, what attracts you or draws you into this career choice? Why do you want to do X ?
2. Putting yourself into the role of the ″updated,″ contemporary Willie Lowman, what aspects of a life/career spent in your chosen field disturb or concern you the most?
3. What is, or might be, your response to recognition of these concerns?
Here are the rules for this assignment:
a. question #1 must be in your own words, without any assistance (AI, ChatGPT, internet, social media, etc.) — just your own thoughts.
b. question #2 may be in your own words, but you may also use (NOT COPY) AI or ChatGPT to assist you in ″bringing the story up to date.″
c. question #3 must be in your own words — just your own thoughts.
** For example, here is how I might respond to this assignment **
1. I would write a narrative about how I became interested in academia, pursued a Ph.D., decided to become a professor and focused on business ethics.
So finally, I would respond to question #3 by addressing my own fears and uncertainties, in light of my own personal values. For example, I would focus on ″struggles with ethical dilemmas″ (#1 above), and I would certainly write about ″legacy and impact″ (#4) while considering the importance of meaning and purpose to my own work.
That′s the assignment. A response of six to nine paragraphs in length should be sufficient, but you may write as much as you want.
BE SURE TO FOLLOW THE RULES ! ACADEMIC MISCONDUCT WILL BE HANDLED APPROPRIATELY. The purpose of this course is to develop your own ideas and values, so don′t cheat yourself out of that experience.

Title: Exploring the Relationship Between Workplace Flexibility, Work-Life Balance, and Employee Well-Being in Estonia’s FinTech Sector: A Case Study
Exploring the Relationship Between Workplace Flexibility, Work-Life Balance, and Employee Well-Being in Estonia’s FinTech Sector.
All information about the project will be in attached file. Please do only what I will include in this descriiption for now. It should be done by May 14th
Below are the bullet points that will help you focus on the key elements for your Introduction chapter, which should be approximately 1,000 words:
Chapter 1: Introduction
1.1 Background
Begin with an overview of the FinTech sector in Estonia, highlighting its rapid growth and the shift towards digital platforms.
Discuss the prevalence of workplace flexibility and remote/hybrid work arrangements in the industry (especially during/after COVID)
Mention the importance of work-life balance and employee well-being in the context of remote work.
Here you can use some background statistics to justify practical relevancy of your topic
1.2 Problem Statement and Significance of the Study
Articulate the challenges faced by employees in maintaining well-being (avoiding burnout) and connect it to WLB and flexible work arrangements
Emphasize the theoretical and practical implications of understanding this relationship. Outline the expected contributions of your research to the field.
Highlight the gap in existing literature regarding the Estonian FinTech sector and the need for this study.
1.3 Purpose of the Study and Research Questions
Clearly state the aim of your thesis: To explore how workplace flexibility and work-life balance affect employee well-being in the FinTech sector.
Present the main research questions you intend to answer through your study. Use the helpful words to connect concepts from your title: (e.g. what are the factors influencing…, or that is the impact of … to …, or what is the relationship between …)
1.4 Definitions of Terms
Define key terms such as ‘workplace flexibility,’ ‘work-life balance,’ and ‘employee well-being’ to ensure clarity.
Remember, the Introduction is your opportunity to set the stage for your research. It should engage the reader and provide a clear roadmap of what to expect in your thesis. -
Title: Exploring the Depths of Comedy: A Comparative Study of Male and Female Stand-up Comedy
LEH353 – INDEPENDENT PROJECT
GUIDELINES for a PRESENTATION
PURPOSE: There are 2 objectives for this Presentation:
1) to share with class your own opinions, ideas and perspectives on humor and comedy
2) to demonstrate what you learned in this course by incorporating 2 concepts in an
insightful way.
HOW TO DO IT:
Suggestion: Think about an example from today’s culture (or from the past) that is of interest and
inspiration to you. Choosing your topic will require some creativity on your part.
**If you are at a loss for a topic, ask yourself: Who is my favorite comedian and why? What
kind of humor do I like? What are my favorite shows? Then think of a topic about them.
In the past students have presented on topics like: internet/meme humor; cancel culture; women
in standup; ethnic/cultural humor; comedy in today’s society; comedian’s creativity; self-
deprecating humor; wit; dark humor; political humor; comedy and freedom of speech. **NOTE
that physiology/chemistry of laughter will not be permitted as topics for this project.
Suggestion only: You can make this project a comparative study of 2 different comedians or
kinds of comedy. It can be a comparison of various humor forms (irony vs. sarcasm; absurd vs.
dark humor); or particular topics in comedy (male vs. female comedy; slapstick vs. wit). They
have to be discussed in an insightful way.
Your goal: With the help of your example(s) from the media, to come up with an argument or an
observation or an opinion that has not been expressed in class and you think should be discussed.
You want to discuss comedy in an intelligent and analytical way, rather than just state that
something is hilarious or not.
REQUIREMENTS:
1) State your ARGUMENT on the 1st slide (*what’s the difference between an opinion and
an argument?)
2) Find specific examples: at least 3-4 short videos to discuss and compare; they should be
chosen as to allow you to build your discussion and arguments on
3) Make 2 references to concepts or ideas from the articles by Critchley and Freud. For
example: the element of surprise in humor; incongruency; “true comedian’s” joke; sense
and non-sense in jokes; whatever appeals to you. Do NOT make references to the stories. -
“Examining Personal Bias in Human Services Practice: Importance and Strategies for Addressing Bias in the Workplace” Examining Personal Bias in Human Services Practice: Importance and Strategies for Addressing Bias in the Workplace As a Human Services Professional at New Directions,
Purpose of Assignment: To identify individual bias(es) through self-reflection through a hypothetical scenario.
Instructions: For your Course Project, you are a Human Services Professional at the hypothetical agency, New Directions, LLC. In Module 01, you are beginning the first step towards developing a portfolio that will be submitted to Dr. Rasmussen, your immediate supervisor, before your performance evaluation in six weeks. A few minutes ago, you open an email from Dr. Rasmussen that reads as such:
Hello,
Thank you for accepting the invitation to our weekly supervision meetings that will be having for the next several weeks. As indicated, I am working towards the completion of annual evaluations and I want to ensure that you and I meet to discuss important dynamics relative to the practice of culturally competent practice with the diverse populations we serve. When we meet, I would recommend that you prepare evidence of your understanding of various elements of how best to work effectively with culturally diverse groups and I will be providing you with feedback along the way. I want you to do well and to also receive the annual bonus when your overall evaluation rates at “Fully Effective”. My job is to get you there.
So, our agenda for this first week is to focus on bias. To confront the challenge of personal bias (myself included), Human Services Professionals must actively work to identify, be mindful of, and critically examine the personal biases they bring into practice. We all have them! Once identified, personal biases can then be attended to through education, continuous training throughout one’s career, self-reflection, and supervision. I look forward to seeing you in my office at the time that you chose.
Thanks! -Ralph
Directions: In a 3-page, double-spaced reflection paper, think about your own bias(es), and address the following:
Why is it important to understand our personal bias(es), to include unconscious bias(es), so that we effectively work with diverse clients within any Human Services agency?
Thinking of yourself as a professional, explain how the following areas assist you towards proactively addressing your identified bias(es) so that they do not translate into your practice as a Human Services Professional:
education
continuous training/professional development,
self-reflection
supervision -
