Type: Strategic planning and implementation report
    Format: Written
    Length: 2,500 words

In Assessment 1 (uploaded), you used PESTEL, Porter’s Five Forces and VRIO analysis to identify strategic issues and priorities that must be addressed for a chosen company (GO Transit) to be competitively successful in the years ahead. It is now time to think about the strategy development and implementation process to deliver superior value to customers more efficiently than rivals.
Building on your analysis in assessment 1, recommend competitive strategies (e.g., broad low-cost strategy, focused low-cost strategy, broad differentiation strategy, focused differentiation strategy, best cost strategy) for the current competitive conditions. Then, identify complementary strategic actions to maximise the overall strategy. Finally, examine the role of ethics, organisational culture and leadership to your recommended competitive strategy and strategic actions.

    3. Recommend and justify one generic competitive strategy to address the prioritised strategic issues for the organisation in the current competitive conditions.
Recommended strategy is logically drawn from in-depth analysis, and highly appropriate to organisational and industry contexts. Selection and use of sources add compelling value to the analysis and show extensive reading on the topic.
    4. Identify and evaluate two complementary strategic actions that could be taken to strengthen your organisation’s competitive position and overall strategy (e.g., offensive, defensive, first mover strategy, blue-ocean strategy, merger, acquisition or strategic alliance).

Proposed complementary strategic actions are highly appropriate, convincing, and logically formed from evaluation, and addresses all gaps. Selection and use of sources add compelling value to the analysis and show extensive reading on the topic.
    5. Discuss the following three areas the organisation should consider in the implementation of the recommended generic strategy and complementary strategic actions:
    • Ethics
    • Organisational culture
    • Leadership
Highly integrated and in-depth critical evaluation of each area, thoroughly linked to organizational context. Expert insight when discussing effective implementation measures that result in successful strategy execution, supported by relevant examples. How does the curse impact the characters in the novel? What steps does Oscar take to change his life and create a future? How do you interpret the end of the novel?
*Make sure to quote the text and closely analyze the metaphors and symbols, the tone and/or feeling of each scene or stanza demonstrating their connection to your claims and arguments. ** Include a thesis statement in your introduction that explicitly states what aspect of the novel your paper will be analyzing.

    READING RESPONSE GUIDELINES
Your reading responses are an opportunity for reflection on your own thoughts, beliefs, questions, and/or concerns regarding a particular topic, issue, or experience. It is a reflection of your learning throughout the semester, not a diary or a book report. The ultimate purpose of the reading responses is to provide you with a safe, judgement-free place to express your ideas and opinions and to facilitate an understanding of the course material and experiences.
Each reading response should reflect approximately 60 minutes of effort and include appropriate and related photos, drawings, video clips, and links – anything that you wish to include that enhances your discussion. Be creative! This is an expression of your thoughts. For most responses, you will select 3 lines from the week’s reading that stand out to you in some way (you agree with them, you disagree with them, you don’t understand them, etc.) and respond to them. BE SURE TO CHECK SPECIFIC READING RESPONSE ASSIGNMENTS, AS THE DIRECTIONS MAY BE DIFFERENT FOR SOME. Be detailed and give reasoning behind your thoughts. For example – don’t just say, “This sentence is dumb!” Tell me why it is dumb.
All work reflected in the response should be in your own words. If you use other authors’ work you need to properly paraphrase and reference the information including photos, graphics and/or external links (photos taken by you will need to be referenced as well). Use APA formatting of all citations. Citations for pictures can simply be the original website URL in a caption under the picture or in a list at the end of your reading response. Make sure you cite the textbook that you quote!
DO NOT list “Google images” as a citation for pictures. I need the URL from the original website.
You need to use correct grammar and spelling, using complete sentences.
You will be graded on the richness of your ideas and discussion, not on your opinions.
