    King’s Conceptual System Theory
Write a 900 word APA paper addressing each of the following points. Be sure to completely answer all the questions for each bullet point. Separate each section in your paper with a clear heading that allows your professor to know which bullet you are addressing in that section of your paper. Support your ideas with at least two (2) outside sources and the textbook using citations in your essay. Make sure to cite using the APA writing style for the essay. The cover page and reference page in the correct APA do not count towards the minimum word amount. Review the rubric criteria for this assignment.
Discuss and explain King’s Conceptual System Theory.
First, explain the 3 systems and provide examples of each system
Explain how the systems influence goal attainment
How could King’s theory help define a clinical quality problem?
Apply this theory to a potential practice quality improvement initiative within your clinical practice.
How could a quality committee align outcomes with King’s Conceptual System Theory?
What additional nursing theory from our readings could also align with an improved quality of practice initiative?

  • “Refining the Proposed Implementation Plan for Helicopter Emergency Medical Services: A Review of Realistic Timelines and Outcome Measures”

To complete my capstone project paper for Topic 8, I may need to refine the “Proposed Implementation Plan with Outcome Measures” section. The effectiveness of this plan hinges significantly on setting realistic timelines for each phase of the implementation, which is a complex variable within the fast-paced environment of Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS). It was found that efficient time management focusing on the required course deliverables, and group cohesion led to the most impactful performance variations (Ball et al., 2020). Using this knowledge, we identify future directions supporting the methods for capstone projects. To obtain the necessary information, I plan to conduct a detailed review of recently published articles focusing on similar change implementations within HEMS settings. My goal is to understand the realistic timeframes reported by other HEMS bases when implementing comparable changes. This research will involve searching databases like PubMed and CINAHL using keywords related to emergency services and change management, specifically within the helicopter-based services context. One key area of the Topic 8 assignment that I will need to review and potentially revise is ensuring that the timelines and benchmarks for implementation are both practical and based on empirical evidence. Adjustments may be necessary to accommodate the unique operational dynamics of HEMS.
For peer feedback, I’m seeking insights on the practicality and realism of the timelines and outcome measures I’ve proposed, with a focus on their acceptability, fidelity, and feasibility. These are important as they affect the intervention’s scalability and sustainability (Klaic et al., 2022). Are the goals set too high, or are they not ambitious enough? I’m interested in how these elements could affect the long-term viability and expansion of the intervention in various HEMS settings.

  • Benchmark – Ethical Conduct of Scholarly Activities: Applying the Belmont Principles to Case Studies in Human Subjects Research and Quality Improvement Projects

NRS-445 Topic 2: Benchmark – Ethical Conduct of Scholarly Activities
    MUST USE THE TEMPLATE PROVIDED
For this assignment, students will read the two case studies that follow and then complete the application of the Belmont Principles case study tables for each case study as well as a personal reflection at the end.
Background: The Belmont Report is a foundational document in the field of research ethics. It was created in response to ethical concerns raised by the Tuskegee Syphilis Study and other research studies that exploited vulnerable populations. The Belmont Report outlines three core ethical principles for research involving human subjects: respect for persons, beneficence, and justice. Institutional review boards (IRBs) are responsible for ensuring that research studies comply with these ethical principles. The Belmont Report has had a significant impact on the formation and function of IRBs. IRBs use the principles outlined in the Belmont Report as a framework for understanding and evaluating the ethical implications of research studies. The principles of respect for persons, beneficence, and justice are used to guide decision-making around issues such as informed consent, risk-benefit analysis, and the selection of human subjects. Overall, the Belmont Report has played a crucial role in shaping the ethical standards for research involving human subjects.
Assignment Focus: The focus of this assignment is to allow the student to apply the principles detailed in the Belmont Report to case studies involving human subjects in research or a quality improvement project. Emphasis is placed on developing and demonstrating an understanding of the role of the nurse researcher or quality improvement project manager as an effective facilitator of ethical principles in human-subjects research or quality improvement projects.
Resources: Review the “NRS-445 The Belmont Report Lecture” to gain a better understanding of the Belmont Report and the role it plays in conducting research.

  • Title: Improving Quality and Safety in Critical Care Units: Addressing Nursing Shortage and Unsafe Ratios

You have been talking with your team and interacting with patients. You see some patterns that you would like to change to improve quality. Your team is motivated to help.
This week you will identify the focus of your project and anticipate the ethical, legal, and regulatory concerns that may arise in your career as a nursing leader.
For this summative assessment, create a 15- to 20-slide Microsoft® PowerPoint® or 1600 word presentation that communicates the focus and scope of your project. You may select from multiple venues to explain the details of your plan. You will demonstrate problem-solving skills as you organize the details of your plan.
Review Appendix B – Question Development Tool from Johns Hopkins Nursing Evidence-Based Practice: Model and Guidelines.
Begin your plan with the following: Grading rubric will heavily look at these first five bullet points Define the problem–> Nursing shortage/unsafe ratios on critical care units, including step-down, in hospital setting
Identify the problem to be addressed and the setting in which it occurs (see above bullet point)
Outline your proposal to address the problem.
Identify and discuss ethical, legal, and regulatory concerns relating to the problem.
Explain why you chose the problem.
Support your plan by gathering as much information about your selected problem as possible. Consider both qualitative and quantitative data. For example:
    Leader and peer interviews
    Patient/customer surveys
Quality improvement (QI) reports from the facility (pick a Level 1 Trauma Center) Benchmarking studies/baseline data.
    If baseline data is available:
    What are the goals?
Are current practices meeting the organizational goals?
    Are the prescribed practices followed?
Format your assignment as one of the following:
    15- to 20-slide Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation
The slides should only contain essential information and as little text as possible. Do not design a slide presentation made up of long bullet points. Use speaker notes to convey the details you would give if you were presenting. See Create Speaker Notes from Microsoft® for more help
