Followership is a complement to leadership. In all organizations, leadership is not just the responsibility of the leader. Likewise, followership is not just the responsibility of followers. Followers are integral to organizational failures and successes. Leaders establish the vision and then inspire followers to action. However, the vision cannot be realized without the work of followers. Leadership cannot occur without committed followership.
Read the following article:
Reynolds, B. (2015). Why followership is as important as police leadership. Law Enforcement Today.
Based on the course readings and your own research on followership, describe the concept of followership in detail and how the concept of followership can be effectively applied in a public safety environment.
Conduct an assessment of your followership skills by answering Reynolds (2015) questions. Provide a specific example of how you engage in followership as you answer the questions:
Do your leaders believe that you are a valuable member of the team? Are you actively engaged in the goals of your leader and the organization, and do you seek to provide usefulness to your work unit?
Do you actively display behaviors that show your commitment to the organization? Regardless of your personal views or self-interest, do you provide the same level of support and commitment towards organizational goals that you would expect from your own followers?
Are you able to transition from a leadership role to a followership role with ease, and with an equal amount of enthusiasm for both roles?
Do you believe that you have to be a good follower before you can be a good leader? Do you recognize that by actively seeking to improve your followership skills, you are also improving your ability as a leader?

For this Assignment, you are a member of the executive team for a global nonprofit aimed at improving health and reducing child mortality rates in the developing world. Funding for the organization comes primarily from private donors (mainly in the U.S. and Canada) and through foundation grants. You have just learned that a shipment of straw-type personal water filters provided (but not manufactured by) your organization have been found to be defective. These filters are widely distributed by your organization in areas with contaminated water supplies and have proven highly effective at reducing instances of water-borne infections caused by bacteria and parasites. However, reports are coming in of increased illness rates from contaminated water in the areas where this shipment was distributed.
You have been asked, as a member of a quickly convened crisis response team, to outline a crisis communication response plan for the organization with an accompanying rationale (with appropriate academic and professional resources to support your report) that will be reviewed by the CEO, Mary Stevenson. Conflict resolution has many avenues of resolution. Utilize the textbook for the following situation. Describe a conflict, either real or fictitious, from your workplace and how it was handled. Describe who was involved. Using the topic study materials, research a reputable nonprofit organization that serves people and the community as a servant leader.
Create a 3-6-slide PowerPoint presentation, then record your 5-7-minute presentation using YouTube video or Loom that illustrates how the nonprofit organization you chose puts servant leadership into action.
The content slides should provide detailed speakers notes that include supporting examples and citations. The detailed speaker’s notes will serve as verbatim transcript of the audio portion of your video that will cover the following:
Specific information about the servant leadership principles employed by the organization
Examples of how implementing servant leadership principles has helped the organization achieve success while having a positive impact on people and the community.
Explanation of which servant leadership principles you recognize as most valuable and would consider integrating within your own organization.
Use a minimum of two resources to strengthen and support your claims. Each section of your presentation should include in-text citations.

As strategic leaders, we encounter daily challenges. If we are not strategic leaders, we use the leaders in our environment as touchstones to determine whether we want to emulate them. To be more effective leaders, knowledge of strategic leaders’ character, competencies, and actions is critical. With this in mind, you are asked to do the following: Part 1: Determining Strategic Leaders’ Views of Leadership In 2,500-3,000 words:
1. Conduct a short interview (10 questions) with 2 leaders/managers in your workplace (place interview questions in appendix); 2.
