  • Title: Overcoming the Fear of Failure: My Journey to Success

Write a first-person narrative essay about an event that impacted your life. Include the conflict and the resolution in your narrative and develop the story line appropriately to engage the reader. Remember, the most effective narratives follow a five-point development series (see below for a description of the five points).
    Criteria for This Assignment
    Length and Formatting Requirements
Three to four pages (750 to 1200 words), double spaced
    Times New Roman, 12-point font
    Content Requirements
Include the following parts to your paper. These points are also known as the five points of narrative writing.
Exposition / Prologue – This provides background and sets the stage for your narrative.
Rising Action – This develops the conflict of the narrative.
Climax or Turning Point – This is the highest point of intensity in your narrative.
Falling Action – This recounts events that happen after the climax of your narrative.
Resolution – This is different than a conclusion since it conveys how the conflict of the narrative was resolved.
In addition to the five-point development of your narrative, utilize key literary elements for communicating your narrative such as plot, setting, theme, and dynamic characterization.
One of the hardest parts of writing a narrative is conveying a character’s actions and emotions without listing a series of facts. The character’s actions should demonstrate the underlying feelings and emotions of the situation.
As you work on the assignment, please review the note on plagiarism if you have any questions as to what you may or may not use from the presented materials and/or outside sources in your paper.

  • “Research Process and Concept Mapping for Informational Reports” “Collaborative Concept Mapping: Utilizing Lucidchart, Mindomo, and Spiderscribe in Real-Time”

This assignment is designed to help you understand the research process and to help you consider possible sources you will use in your Informational Report. Please complete tasks 1 and 2.
    1. Based on chs. 30-31.1: “Developing Your Research Process–Gathering Reliable Information” answer the following questions.
What are the six steps for effectively creating a research plan?
What are primary and secondary sources?
What is the difference between popular and scholarly periodicals? What are examples of each?
    2. For this part of the assignment, you will begin brainstorming for your Exploratory Essay by designing a concept map.
Concept mapping is a learning strategy that involves visualizing relations between concepts and ideas using graphical representations. It is a form of graphic organizer that consists of various circles or boxes (called nodes) each of which contain a concept and are all interlinked through linking phrases. The role of these linking phrases is to “identify the relationship between adjacent concepts” (McClellan and Broggy, 2009).
Some benefits of Concepts Maps for students:
Provide students with nonlinear visual ways to understand, produce, and represent knowledge.
Help develop higher-order thinking skills including analytical skills.
Facilitate the recall and processing of information.
Help students externalize their knowledge and show their understanding.
Make explicit structural forms of knowledge and relationships between concepts and therefore enhance students’ comprehension.
They attend to different learning styles.
They engage students in meaningful learning activities.
They are effective organizational tools students can use to organize their knowledge.
Visual representations of knowledge is proved to both stimulate and increase brain activity (Marzono, 1998, cited in Birbili, 2006).
Please choose one of the following Concept Mapping Tools to brainstorm ideas, research questions, and possible sources to help you explore the topic of your Personal Narrative in more depth and provide a starting point for your Informational Report. Have at least three questions stemming from your topic, and three possible sources stemming from your questions.
Submit your concept maps to the discussion area by Friday of week four. By Monday of week four, check out some of your peers’ maps. Notice how their ideas are growing outward. You can give your peers additional ideas or points to consider as they develop the ideas in their concept maps. You can also give positive reinforcement to your peers, and you can ask questions.
Attached is an example; please submit your map as an image or pdf attachment.

  • My Journey Learning Academic English: Reflections and Next Steps

For this final exam, write a paper that reflects on your experiences learning academic English and carefully
considers the next steps. reflect = to think about
something deeply and carefully, usually something that is personal and in the past
In your reflection paper, address the following four questions:
    Submit Assignment
First, describe your experiences, or your journey, learning English
    • In answering this question, consider what has helped you learn English. Consider what you have accomplished. Consider challenges and failures and also successes and victories along the way. Consider what you are most proud of. Consider what valuable traits you have gained throughout this journey. (traits = particular qualities in someone’s character; someone’s characteristics, qualities, and/or skills)
    • This question is about how you’ve learned
English over the years. You don’t need to include every step along the way; focus on the most influential parts of your language-learning journey.
    2. Think about your writing in English when you started the academic ESL program and/or when you first started writing in English. Now think about your writing today. How have you grown as an academic writer in English? In other words, how has your writing improved?
Include specific examples/details to illustrate how your writing has improved.
    3. Looking forward, what are your future academic and/or career goals? In addition, what do you want to work on in the future, in regards to your language and/or academic skills development? Be specific.
4.What advice would you give to future ESL 159A/B students? What are some lessons you have learned about being successful in completing a variety of academic assignments? Be specific.
    • How would you explain to a future student what is important for being successful in
159A/B? What specific details or recommendations would you make? How would you explain the different aspects of taking both of these classes concurrently, while managing other classes and/or responsibilities?
Because you are writing body paragraphs, don’t forget to have clear topic sentences, development, and closing sentences and have cohesion to guide the reader through your ideas.
    • When you see “consider” and “think about” above, you do not have to address all of these ideas! These are there to guide you and give you things to think about as you answer the three mandatory questions.
    • This paper is a reflection on YOUR journey, so you will use first person (“|”). • Because this is a reflection paper, you are not required to include outside sources (citations).
    • You should not use the internet for this paper/e
    • Because this is a “reflection paper,” you do not need to write a formal essay with an introduction and conclusion. Instead, organize your ideas into body paragraphs that develop your answers to all three parts and reflect on your journey learning English. Explain your ideas and give specific details and personal examples to illustrate the point you are making.

  • Title: Enhancing the Impact of Technology in Education: A Closer Look at its Benefits and Challenges

I need to add more specific details to my paper, more examples etc. Also, fix referencing, for example, books should include pages if the idea is taken from specific ones.
The structure and main points should be the same as in the draft, and the referencing list can’t be changed as well (only maybe add a few more recent sources).
Also needed to rewrite the conclusion, where list the most interesting ideas and add personal evaluation of the main points.
Each paragraph has to pass an AI detector.

you will begin writing your paper on criminal justice, which is a major paper for this course. Again, this is a broad topic, so it is your responsibility to narrow the topic, which is why I assigned the Canvas Video assignment.  You will now write a unified 8-10 page paper on your narrowed topic.  For this problem-solution paper, it is best to write about the issue first and then argue for possible solutions. You can also include recent solutions and argue on how to improve these solutions.  Whatever you decide, make sure that you have included research using scholarly articles and credible websites.
8-10 page paper using 4-6 scholarly articles, 3 credible websites, 1 e-book/ encyclopedia and any additional credible sources.
At least 8-10 pieces of textual evidence
A Works Cited page. This is separate from the required pages.
Essay must be submitted according to MLA guidelines (Watch video below)
Your paper should contain proper grammar, be free of spelling errors, and reflect critical thinking.
    Use this for narrowed topics
I am explaining the topic of the criminal justice system in the world today. Then to make it more argumentative. The government should provide help with juvenile justice , provide programs for inmates, and racism in the criminal justice system.
