  • Title: Tuned Damping Approach and Tuned Mass Damper Inerter for Vibration Control in Offshore Horizontal Axis Wind Turbines

I am in a group that is supposed to write a Literature Review about “Vibrations in Offshore horizontal axis wind turbine (HAWT) due to aerodynamic and vortex induced disturbance”. I am assigned to write only ONE BODY PARAGRAPH that should explain Tuned Damping Approach and Tuned Mass Damper Inerter(TMDI) and use these 2 literatures to review:
    https://doi.org/10.1016/j.engstruct.2020.110928
    https://doi.org/10.1002/stc.2471
I want to emphasize again that I only want one body paragraph to be written which should be 500-600 words. The files that I share with you contain the annotated bibliography(i highlighted the parts that you should look at) that we made as a group so you can look at those writings to have a clear understanding about what and how to write the body paragraph. I also shared the instructor’s rubric and the prompt.

  • “Appraisal and Recommendation for a New Generation Project: Evaluating Viability, Risks, and Alternatives for Electricity Supply Systems” “Analysis of Wood Pellet Biomass Technology for Sustainable and Reliable Energy Systems: A Comprehensive Report on Heat, Temperature, Energy, and Financial Aspects”

    Task Specification
You will take the role of a consultant
employed by the developer of a new generation project. This document contains
information about the electricity supply system for three countries and a range
of electricity generation technologies. Your client wishes to develop a new
project using in one of these countries using a specific technology with a
defined capital budget. Your task is to carry out an appraisal, including
financial and non-financial aspects to specify the project. Your appraisal
    should:
    • Provide your client with an overview
of the physical process which the technology uses to generate electricity
    • Determine the viability of the
business case for the project using appropriate metrics
    • Identify its role within the system
and any risks or wider issues associated with the project.
While the specified technology is the
preferred option, your client is open to alternative proposals if these would
provide a better return on their investment and/or better meet the needs of the
system. You should propose an alternative project by:
    • Assessing the role fulfilled by the
existing generators in the system and to what extent they meet the system needs
in terms of a) supplying the baseload, intermediate, and peak demand; and b)
ensuring an affordable, sustainable, and reliable supply of electricity.
    • Identifying any gaps in the existing
    system
    • Identify an alternative technology
which can help to address these issues.
    Report specification
    Report sections (Marks available shown
in brackets. A further 10% is available based on the quality of presentation
    and evidence)
    Title page
    Include your name, student number,
module title, date of submission, and report title
    Introduction (5%)
Briefly outline the purpose and content
    of the report
    Technology description (10%)
    Explain the operational principles the
technology which you are assessing. Provide a diagram which shows the energy
flows into and out of the generator.
    Financial appraisal (25%)
    Use the financial appraisal methods
covered in the course to quantify the costs and benefits of the project over
its lifetime. You should calculate the lifetime cost, cost-benefit ratio,
payback period, internal rate of return, and levelized cost of electricity. The
price of electricity should be estimated based on the current market conditions
within your system. Present your results in a table with brief discussion, and
provide details of the calculations in an appendix.
    Non-financial appraisal (10%)
    Discuss factors other than purely
financial considerations that your client should be aware of. Consider at least
the environmental, social, and political circumstances surrounding these
    technologies.
    Assessment of System Needs (15%)
Does the current generation mix meet the
needs of the system? Provide an assessment of the system needs in terms of:
    • Affordability
    • Sustainability (including CO2
    emissions)
    • Security of Supply
    • Operability
    Alternative technologies (15%)
Provide a brief review of an alternative
technology which would better meet the needs of the system. Identify the key
differences between this and the technology specified by your client.
    Recommendation (10%)
Advise your client on what they should
do next and identify any uncertainties in your appraisal that should be
assessed in more detail to gain a more complete picture of the decision to be
made. Use evidence from the report to justify your recommendation.
    Word
    count and non-text elements
Word count: 1500 words. Only the main
text is included in this count; the title page, table of contents, references,
    and similar parts are excluded.
    Non-text elements, consisting of
diagrams, graphs, and tables, need to be included to provide information that
cannot be conveyed effectively through words alone. Note that these elements
are essential to include so that your ability to present information in these
    ways can be assessed.
    Clear
    and concise writing
It is essential that you communicate the
    information in your report:
    Clearly
    – use an effective structure, use descriptive figure captions, ensure
nomenclature is defined and consistent, define the symbols used in equations.
    Concisely
    – ensure that you use as few words as possible to unambiguously explain your
work, use effective referencing to build on the work of others, do not repeat
similar information at multiple places in your report.
Elements of knowledge and skill being
    assessed
Whilst this task is intended to feel
authentic, remember that it is designed to assess the knowledge and skills
listed below. Critically review your work to check that you have demonstrated
your learning for each of these and modify the report of necessary.
    1. Concepts of heat, temperature,
energy, and power. How they are used to express energy system properties and
    performance.

quantities (including those above) across a wide range of magnitudes in the
    International System of units (SI).

    technologies.
    5. Project financial appraisal measures;

    unit production cost.
    6. Fundamental concepts in power
systems; supply & demand, availability, security of supply, reliability,
    capacity factor, capacity margin.

dictate the role of existing and future generation within an electricity supply
    system.
    8. How power generation projects can
contribute to the economic, sustainable, and reliable operation of an
    electricity supply system.
    9. Exploitation of renewable energy
