  • The Importance of Valid and Ethical Research: Pursuing Truth in a World of Agendas In today’s society, research plays a crucial role in shaping our understanding of the world and making informed decisions. However, the pursuit of truth through research

    Research should always be about finding out the truth and disseminating that information. However, many findings are taken out of context, and data is used to further an agenda.  Truth matters.  Why is it so important to conduct research that is both valid and ethical, and how can this be accomplished? Support your discussion with scholarly sources and integrate a biblical worldview perspective.

  • Title: Integrating Technology into Elementary Language Arts: A Comprehensive Action Plan

    Design a plan for integrating technology into an elementary language arts program. This plan should include a format for utilizing computer hardware, computer software, databases, as well as electronic networks for gathering and sharing information with other elementary educators and students.  Select and read reference articles on integrating technology into the elementary language arts classroom with ESOL/LEP. Citations from electronic journal articles would be particularly appropriate. Also, national, state, or local school district documents outlining goals and objectives for technology integration should be reviewed and cited as references.
    The action plan for integrating technology into an elementary language arts program should be in proposal form. The components of the proposal should include the following:
    ·       Needs or problem statement, i.e. a description of whether the proposal is addressing a need or solving a problem and a description of the target student population ( grade or age levels, ability levels, learning styles, developmental needs, ESOL/LEP) that the proposal addresses;
    ·       Project description, i.e. a narrative description of goals, objectives, activities, timeline, and materials and a summary table;
    ·       Role description, i.e. a statement of role and responsibilities of the proposal instructor and developer;
    ·       Support needs statement, i.e. based on school data (e.g. School Improvement Plan), a description of what school support is needed (equipment, software, training, teacher and staff collaboration) as well as community support that is needed (parental involvement and community mentors);
    ·       Evaluation design, i.e. a narrative describing the method used to determine if learning goals and objectives have been achieved; narrative describing method used to determine if the state’s curriculum standards and the state’s Elementary Education Competencies and Skills in Language Arts and Reading have been met.
    ·       Budget, i.e. a narrative explaining item costs and a budget outline listing instructional materials and equipment needed for proposal implementation;
    ·       References, a listing of journal articles or other documents that support the proposed ideas. (Minimum of 3 references, one of which can be the course textbook.

  • “Emergency Management Plan Review: Analyzing the Components of a Local Plan for a Medium to Large City/County”

    Search and select from the internet a local emergency management plan from either a medium (100,000 people) or large city (200,000 plus) or county from any state in the United States. It is recommended to find a plan in your local community if that is available since it will be more relevant to your experience. Write a 3-page paper that reviews the components of the emergency management plan that you selected. Critique the plan for its ability to address important components of an emergency management plan. Try to be concise and follow the outline and paragraph parameters as seen below. Use the following sections as Level I headings: Overview of the Selected Community, Demographics, and Locality (one paragraph) Overview of the Plan’s Inclusion of Special Needs Populations and People with Disabilities (one paragraph) Critique of the Local Plan (one paragraph for each Level II heading) Use Level II headings under Critique of the Local Plan: Note: use the headings below to address the local plan’s ability to address the following in their local plan Planning Faith-Based and Public Partnerships Preparedness Response Recovery Mitigation Efforts Level I heading: Conclusion (two paragraphs)

  • Title: “Designing a Research Study in the Field of EFL: Methodology, Data Analysis, and Expected Outcomes”

    This essay is based on the 1st assignment. Word files is attached.
    Word limit: 3,000 words excluding appendices
    In this assignment, you are asked to
    • choose an appropriate research design for your research;
    • understand the importance quantitative variables;
    • establish your research setting;
    • determine your population and sample;
    • delineate the differences between the two research paradigms;
    • outline your research tools;
    • understand the steps in carrying out a pilot study of your research;
    • analyze and interpret your research data;
    • discuss your research outcomes;
    • delineate the implications of your research.
    Use the following questions and steps to structure this part of your proposal:
    1. How do you plan to carry out your research?
    2. How will you analyze your data?
    3. What are the expected outcomes of your research and its implications for EFL?
    Steps
    • Ground your methodology in an accepted research paradigm (e.g., qualitative and/or
    quantitative) and in an established tradition (e.g., ethnography, action research,
    grounded theory, practitioner research etc.).
    • Align it against the relevant literature of that methodology. It may also be helpful to
    identify relevant literatures from other disciplines (e.g., philosophy, sociology,
    2
    anthropology) that suggest critical approaches to analogous questions. Where relevant,
    provide a critical assessment of theoretical questions implicit in the work.
    • Devise a preliminary schedule for the various stages of the dissertation project,
    including time for research, writing, and revision of the manuscript. Where possible,
    indicate prospective chapters and the projected times for their completion. This
    schedule should reflect your best guesses regarding teaching and research support. You
    should expect that your chapter outline and the amount of time you need to devote to
    each section might change over the course of the research.
    • Include a list of primary and secondary sources you have used to date in designing your
    dissertation. In preliminary fashion, identify and describe key archival repositories and
    other anticipated source materials, both published and unpublished.

  • Exploring the Impact of Self-Efficacy on Novice Teachers’ Professional Duties: A Methodological Approach Using Interviews, Focus Groups, Observations, and Questionnaires

    write an introduction to the methodology section. Define Novice teachers as well as self efficacy. The presearh question is  “In novice teachers, how does self-efficacy impact their ability to fulfill their professional duties?”   I will use interviews, hold focus groups, observations, and questionaireses to collet qualitatve data.
    Below is an example of what it might look like”
    The purpose of this action research study was to explore how peer-led virtual
    environments could help doctoral students could help doctoral students of NNEU’s online
    program to increase dissertation writing productivity and overcome writing blocks. A goal of this
    study was to develop a pilot peer-led dissertation writing support group that would provide
    resources and guidance towards increasing writing. I used questionnaires, semi-structured
    interviews, and observation field notes as the tools to collect data during three cycles of research
    to contextualize the problem and gather recommendations from study participants to devise the
    intervention, which was a pilot peer-led dissertation writing support group.

  • “Supporting and Developing Leadership: Perspectives from Superintendents and Principals”

    Read and consider the questions posed in the “Perspective” section below.
    Watch the videos listed below in the Course Materials section.
    Post a reaction to the 8 short videos of superintendents discussing their work with principals

    One of the most important roles of a superintendent is the support and development of leadership in the district. This can be seen in a variety of ways. Just like the purpose of our degree and certifications, the development support and nurture of outstanding leaders is one of the most important roles. In 2011 Wallace Foundation had an interesting study in order to present best practices for all districts to use as a guide.
    Below you will find 8 short videos of superintendents discussing their work with principals. Review all 8, then choose one that you think would work and one that absolutely would not work in your district. Post the reasons why or why not from your notes delineating supporting evidence for each one you have selected.
