Paper includes a 1- to 2-paragraph problem statement generated from a gap in the scholarly research that clearly describes (a) the phenomena of interest, (b) a summary of key findings based on the three articles, and (c) a gap that should be addressed.
Paper provides a clear purpose statement using the terminology of qualitative research. The purpose statement includes a strong, research-based justification for the study, including (a) the phenomena chosen, (b) the “fit” with a constructivist epistemology and ontology, (c) the relevance of the naturalistic setting or context to the phenomena of interest, (d) the researcher’s relationship to the problem and issues of bias and positionality, and (e) a brief description of the setting and possible sources of data.
Paper provides a clear, research question that is aligned with the purpose statement. The research question is well developed and includes the key words that clearly identify the phenomenon of interest; the focus of the study (e.g., meaning; experience; culture; stories) and the population and/or location.
The paper includes an Annotated Bibliography section that includes (a) one literature review or meta-analysis article, (b) one theory article, and (c) one research article.

For assignment 1, the student will be required to develop a research design designated as experimental or quasi-experimental. The student will have the option to developthe scenario utilizing a with-in subjects, between subjects, or single case approach. The student will be required to provide a relevant research question and associated independent and dependent variables. The sampling strategy and assignment techniques will be discussed along with comparison groups and associated control techniques. The major threats to internal validity will be offered along with a discussion of how the control techniques will be utilized to minimize threats. Limitations to the overall design will be detailed. (I am attaching the assignment I already started. I want you to rewrite/revise the assignment utilizing the “same” research scenario listed in the assignment. Please look at the rubric and the directions listed above to ensure all requirements are met to ensure a great score.)

You are a correction officer in a maximum correctional facility. 
There is a violent prisoner who refuses to comply with the institutional rules. Staff members are unsure how to gain their compliance and are thinking of using flogging or whipping to curtail their violent behavior towards other prisoners and staff. In your own opinion, should current-day corrections incorporate punishments that were once used but later outlawed due to the cruel and harmful nature of such acts (e.g., corporal punishment, flogging, or whipping)?
