Title: “Mastering APA Format: A Guide to Proper Citation and Formatting” Slide 1: Introduction – Title of presentation – Name and affiliation of presenter – Overview of presentation Slide 2: What is APA Format? –
Using a reliable APA resource (i.e. Purdue Writing Lab or the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association: 7th Edition) and complete the following:
Create a Power Point covering at least ten (10) guidelines required by APA format.
Include an introduction slide and a conclusion slide as well.
You should be submitting at least twelve (12) slides.
Be creative and reader-friendly in your design.
You can use different fonts, font colors and sizes, photos or clip art, interesting design themes (background), etc.
Using different designs is part of the assignment, so you know that will be graded on your efforts for this as well as the other areas noted on the grading rubric (excluding APA font requirements).
As always, keep the TurnItIn similarity index low (~0-5%); anything above this will result in point loss. -
Title: “Evaluation and Critique of Chapter Five: Summary and Personal Views” “Module 2 Summary and Evaluation of Chapter 2: Understanding Research Methods” Introduction: In this assignment, I will be summarizing and evaluating Chapter 2 of the textbook “Understanding Research Methods” by Patten and Newhart. This chapter provides
FOR MODULE ONE, PLEASE SUMMARIZE AND EVALUATE CHAPTER FIVE OF OUR COURSE TEXT…
Please read this information to the end ….
FIRST, please summarize the entire applicable chapter of our course text in your own words. Be sure to organize your summary logically to make it reader-friendly. Your summary section should contain only summary of the chapter with little or no personal views…. Please use subtitles to organize our summary.
The next section of your work should be devoted to an evaluation (or critique) of the chapter. This is where you add your personal views and opinions on the work you just summarized. This assignment must be submitted in only ONE file! First you introduce this assignment; (2) then you summarize the relevant chapter (3) then you evaluate/critique the chapter (4) then you discuss your policy implications or suggestion and you conclude your work – see below for suggested TEMPLATE or format ….
The evaluation part should contain your views/opinions on the chapter you summarized. This evaluation part is also an excellent place for you to cite your sources to back up your personal views. Because this evaluation part contains mostly YOUR views, you should cite at least one source to strengthen your views at the evaluation/critique section of your work. Cite at least one OTHER source (NOT the work you are evaluating) in this evaluation part. While evaluating the chapter (essentially a critique which is positive and not so positive part of the chapter), you can comment on all or some of the following itemized points as part of your evaluation of the chapter … also bring in your own evaluation criteria and comment on them as you like …. You do NOT have to include the numbers just your opinions on them …. Please see the samples …
Again, this ONE assignment is divided into 4 related major outcomes (must be in one/same file…. just like parts or sections of your research paper):
(1) Introduction – introduce your work….
(2) Summary – no personal views….. Only summary
(3) Evaluation/Critique – your views/opinions on the chapter – positive and negative parts of the chapter…. must cite at least one source in this subsection to support your views/opinions, and
(4) Conclusions and Policy Implications flowing from your work – your suggestions ….
Evaluation is basically a critique which is essentially positives and negatives about the work and this is the most important part of this assignment … because everyone can read/summarize but not everyone can do a great evaluation or critique … lol. These are just SAMPLE areas you can comment on…..
Do you like the area/topic or issue covered in the chapter (or work)?
Why or why not?
How about the language used in the work – easy or difficult to understand?
Findings – surprise? – agree with findings if any?
Length of the article …. brief article or just right/average length?
Usefulness or utility of the chapter especially issues covered
Methodology used … logical, scientific, confusing, … etc
Conclusions of your evaluation
Is the article practically useful – utility and usefulness of the article
Type of data used in the article and your views about the data
Simple or complex statistical analysis?
Policy implications of the finding or suggestions based on the finding – any thoughts?
Is the main idea important?
What are the major strengths and weaknesses of the article?
Was the work it well written, organized, and easy to understand?
Who is the intended audience?
Is the article supported by evidence?
Did the author forget anything?
Other comments … etc including if the issue covered is contemporary or just for academic purposes …
Again, please note that you must cite your sources in the “evaluation” part of your work to support your views…. Please don’t forget the “Policy Implications” of your work. Review my post/announcement on “Policy Implications.” Simply put, Policy Implications are just your suggestions or recommendations on the issues based on you’re the conclusions you reached in your work.
The deliverable length should be between 500 – 800 words per assignment and you must write the number of words you used at the end of your work. Of course, you can use more words if you need to … and this is often the case depending on how you structure your work. Please do not include the cover page, abstract, and list of references in the minimum deliverable length.
So my suggested subheadings for this assignment:
Your title – “Module 2 Summary/Evaluation Assignment” … “Summary and Evaluating/Critique of Chapter 2” “… etc… etc… etc your choice….”
Introduction – say what you want to do or what you are doing…Introduce your work
Summary Section: use subheadings to organize your summary … typically no citations here because you are just summarizing and almost anyone can summarize….lol
Evaluation/critique of the chapter (cite your sources here) … you need citations here because this is where you state your views and opinions. Anytime you state your views/opinions you need citations to back them up so your readers may not think that you are speculating or guessing…. not everyone can do a great evaluation or critique… lol. This is the MOST important part of this assignment.
Conclusions and Policy Implications
Remember that the above (a through e) are just sections or parts of the same assignment. Make EACH of the sections clear by using subtitles if you like but at least a clear paragraph to start each. You do NOT want your readers to fish or look for where you discussed each so please make it clear… can even leave a line is you like. -

Title: The Debate Surrounding Cyberterrorism: Definition, Existence, and Potential Effects
The potential threat posed by cyberterrorism has provoked considerable alarm. Numerous security experts, politicians, and others have publicized the danger of cyberterrorists hacking into government and private computer systems and crippling the military, financial, and service sectors of advanced economies. Psychological, political, and economic forces have combined to promote the fear of cyberterrorism. From a psychological perspective, two of the greatest fears of modern times are combined in the term cyberterrorism. The fear of random, violent victimization blends well with the distrust and outright fear of computer technology.
Debate continues to exist regarding the nature and definition of cyberterrorism. Using the assigned readings and additional resources, discuss the extent to which cyberterrorism exists and the characteristics that distinguish cyberterrorism from cybercrime. Provide specific examples to support your application and analysis of the debate surrounding the nature and definition of cyberterrorism. In addition, discuss the potential effects of cyberterrorism, providing specific examples. Your paper should be 4–6 pages in length and include at least five specific examples of different types of cyberterrorism that might be conducted and the associated effects that would be expected from such an attack.
Use at least two credible sources beyond the assigned reading and discuss how you evaluated the credibility of each source.
