In learning new skills, a helpful strategy is finding examples of poor and best practices. In this lesson, you reviewed the latest research on conducting forensic interviews of children and examined the latest National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) Investigative Interview Protocol. Before participating this discussion, watch the documentary Child of Rage and then engage in a conversation on the development of NICHD Investigative Interview Protocol.
Having watched the documentary, identify three different specific points in the documentary where you might have done something different? Please indicate the specific time point within the video, so others are able to view the segment and discuss your assessment. In replying to other students, how might that strategy have changed the trajectory of the forensic interview? 350 words with references thats all for this one.
Description
In the discussion for this unit, you explored the documentary Child of Rage, with an emphasis on finding best practices and the importance of forensic protocols in structuring interviews. In this activity, your task is to find 5 examples of real-life cases reflecting interviews using poor forensic practice. In finding these examples, place an emphasis on cases involving children, adults, and the elderly. Supply a summary of the case, proper documentation of the location of the case, the specific errors in protocol, and what happened in the case. This review will be 4 pages.
The specific steps are as follows:
Conduct independent research finding 5 examples of real-life cases reflecting interviews using poor forensic practice.
Of the 5 examples, at least 1 must include a case involving a child, 1 involving an adult, and 1 involving an elderly individual. Write a report including the following sections:Introduction to the report
Overview of the importance of proper interviewing protocol
2 paragraphs documenting each example of a real-life case
1 paragraph conclusion
Include no fewer than 6 scholarly resources.
Ensure the report is at least 4 pages long.

Title: The Impact of Police Body-Worn Cameras on Public Perception and Accountability: A Critical Analysis
This news item must be related to one of the topics addressed in the Griffiths’ text. You must supplement your assessment with at least six (6) scholarly (peer-reviewed) journal articles. You will be expected to include the news article and the Griffiths’ text in your list of references.
Griffiths, C.T. (2020). Canadian Police Work (5th ed.). Tophatmonocle Corp.
In order to have a chance for a passing mark, you will need to properly cite the news item, the Griffiths’ text, and a minimum of six (6) scholarly (peer-reviewed) journal articles in your references at the end of your paper
This research paper must be ten (10) typed pages long (excluding the Title page and your Reference page). Double-spaced, 12-point font, and one-inch margins all around. Other style and referencing requirements must adhere to the APA Citation Style Guide, 7th Ed. If you are unfamiliar with this style of referencing.
Your term paper will be graded in the following manner: Introduction – 10%
You will be expected to introduce the issue from your news item, its connection to the Griffiths’ text, and then outline the path of your academic inquiry. It should explain how you will meet the assignment expectations.
It must include a thesis statement.
Research – 40%
I will be looking for your ability to develop themes from your (peer-reviewed) journal articles that advance your arguments related to the thesis statement. This should not be a static literature review or simple summary of information from each article.
You will be expected to demonstrate the logic of your argument in your own words. The use of paragraphs will be essential, that include topic sentences, related to your thesis statement.
Quotes should be rarely used! (The University of Toronto Writing Advice – Using Quotations is a very useful resource in explaining the criteria for the use of quotes.) If you feel a quote is essential for your paper, you must have an in-text citation with the page immediately after the quote. If your source document has no page numbers, say a website, you must count the paragraphs and note that in your in-text citation.
Do not use the first-person pronoun “I” in your paper. You should be consistently writing
in the third person.
paragraphs and note that in your in-text citation. The UFV ASC APA Citation Style Guide, 7th Ed is essential reading to get this correct.
Discussion – 30%
In this section, I will be assessing your analytical and thinking skills. You will need to debate the merits and implications of what you have learned from your research, related to your thesis statement. In this portion you should be comparing those findings, to your observations from the news item, and the related material in the Griffiths’ text.
Except for the news item and the Griffiths’ text, you should not need many references, as you will be drawing on the themes developed in your research.
Conclusion – 10%
This is where you pull together the key points from your research and discussion. You should highlight the important takeaways from what you have learned. It is essential to assert, through the strength of your research and argumentation, if your thesis statement has been supported.
Style – 10%
If you are not following the UFV ASC APA Citation Style Guide, 7th Ed, you will have little success here. I will also expect you to use the spelling and grammar function of Microsoft Word before you submit it to me. Proofreading is also strongly recommended.
I need to assess your university-level writing and comprehension skills, not your ability to cut and paste the work of other authors.
***WHAT THIS MEANS***

My Professor instructions
PowerPoint Requirements:
Length: 10 to 15 slides (excluding the cover slide and the reference slide).
Design:
Be sure not to overcrowd your slides with information.
Be thorough, but also be concise.
Use bullet points to highlight the main points.
If you use graphics, be sure to condense them, so your Power Point is not too large.
Mechanics: PowerPoint does not require that you write full sentences or paragraphs; in fact, this will detract from your presentation; however, your ideas must flow logically and your points should be presented in a consistent format. Check your spelling and use standard American English.
You should consult at least three sources in preparing your project. Your last slide should be a reference slide following APA format.

victim focused case study: Requirements of the case study paper:
The case study paper is a group effort of 12-15 pages in length. The page length will depend on the size of the group. Single projects are a minimum of 12 full pages;
The paper must be consistent with the APA style of writing.
The textbook must be used as a source along with 4 additional academic sources.
Scott, H. (2016). Victimology: Canadians in context (Second edition.). Oxford University Press.
ISBN: 9780199014637
The paper should be focused on the victims (not the offender). Integrate course theories and apply them to your case. Include a brief summary of the case. Look at course materials and think about how the victims were treated or what the public reaction was; Were there any policy changes in the CJS or other agencies as a result of the outcome; what theories of crime can be applied to the case; what assumptions have been made (if any); what typologies can be applied to the victims; explain the aftermath for all victims if known; include crime stats that are comparative to the crimes; etc. You may include a brief report of the outcome for the offender. Include a criticism of theories.
The case study must include a small explanation of how victimology practices and policies are linked to political ideologies and beliefs about crime for your case.
Integration of course material is key. Support this material with criminological theories and research.
No photos in the paper, only the presentation.
The paper will be evaluated on: (1) the integration of class materials with your case; (2) the clear and logical expression of your ideas – discussion and analysis; (3) arguments that are well presented and supported with evidence and sources that support your beliefs – quality of expression; and (4) the overall quality of your essay, proper citations and bibliography, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Some helpful hints include: (1) Make sure that you fully explain an idea; (2) Avoid generalizations or broad sweeping statements without providing adequate support or evidence; (3) Avoid discussing issues that are not relevant to the assignment; (4) Make sure that all your references conform to accepted academic standards and that your reference page is consistent with academic standards; (5) define all your terms; and (6) Proofread your paper carefully to make sure that every sentence is clear and makes sense.

Title: Understanding and Addressing Ethical Issues in Research: A Comprehensive Guide
Understanding the potential ethical issues associated with research is important before beginning any project. Additionally, it is important to check the research project periodically to ensure compliance and to adjust when opportunities arise. Some ethical issues that may arise including conducting research involving vulnerable populations, such as prisoners, children, the unsheltered, elderly, or even patients or the accused that you may deal with routinely. For example, if your research involves school truancy, you are not permitted to interview, survey, or observe children for your Capstone. Instead, you may survey parents, but children and other vulnerable poplations cannot be involved at any level.
If ethical considerations are not addressed in the beginning and before any research is conducted, including interviews, surveys, or field observations, the researcher (student), faculty, and college are subject to discipline, including legal action. However, students are permitted to review literature that may be used in the research; you just cannot conduct interviews, surveys, or observations. Typically, programs follow guidance in 45 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 46 and related subparts, along with ethical codes, some of which may be found on pp.95-96 of your text. Be sure to review these when you have a moment.
Outside of populations, other ethical considerations including accidental or intentional plagiarism (including copying and pasting even if you cite), use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), failure to cite sources, using work that does to belong to you, failure to ensure confidentiality, and obtaining permission from a site, participates, or a supervisor when involving peers. In reviewing the text, there are various considerations discussed on pp.93-101 that will help you avoid problems later. Once you identify potential ethical issues and roadblocks, then ensure they are addressed, you should not have any issues moving forward in your research. If opportunities are identified, your instructor will help you correct these during the Capstone.
Instructions
After reading the text and associated material, discuss why it is important to understand the potential ethical issues that may arise in a research project, including confidentiality.
Be sure to explain these in detail using the text and providing a minimum of five (5) examples.
Discuss roadblocks that may occur later if ethical issues are not considered in the beginning
Explain federal regulations associated with research.
Define members of vulnerable populations and then include details on why special permission is required before conducting research with this group.
Explain who must give permission.
