–Literature Review: what conversations are going on around this issue in scholarly literature? You will include at least 3-4 scholarly sources from the Joan Weil Library databases or Google Scholar to reference and put into conversation with each other, and conduct 1 interview with invested parties (students, staff, faculty, etc.) This section includes an analysis of the sources and synthesis of the material (around 3 pages).

  • “Framing Environmental Conflicts: A Multi-Perspective Analysis of Slow Violence and Key Stakeholders”

My paper is a conjunction with two other peers in my class. My area of focus is shown in  the attachement below. I am responsible for the third criteria (Frames).
This is the official assignment post:
As part of your final project, students will write a research paper that is worth 15% of their final grade. Students will choose to work either individually or in groups of 2 to undertake a research project throughout the course that addresses a contemporary environmental conflict through multiple frames. Each group will reflect on the overlapping stakeholders, values, interests, and meanings that shape their chosen environmental conflict. This project will enable you to analyze how different framings of your chosen topic inform what concrete solutions become viable or even thinkable, and how this impact different stakeholders unevenly.
Students can choose to work individually or in pairs. Group papers will be assigned a single grade for all group members. The paper is due via canvas on May 9th (the last day of class). This assignment aims to fulfill CLOs 1-4.
    ASSIGNMENT GUIDELINES
Please write a paper of ~2,000 words per student (roughly 8 pages double spaced) on a topic of your choice that critically analyzes a contemporary environmental conflict. Whether working individually or in pairs, your paper should include:
A thorough description of your topic and how it relates to environmental communication.
This should include a discussion of 1) how you define environmental communication, 2) the key stakeholders, interests, resources, and ideologies of nature involved in the conflict, and 3) a succinct problem statement that describes the communicative problem/conflict/issue at stake
An analysis of your topic through at least TWO frames / key concepts discussed in class and/or in course materials.
A discussion of how each of the frames/concepts that you use in your analysis shapes what potential solutions become viable and desirable for resolving your conflict. Keep in mind that different frames/concepts might lead to conflicting solutions.
A bibliography with at least five sources.
NOTE: The topic is flexible and what counts as a viable topic largely depends on how YOU define environmental communication. Regardless of your topic, you MUST engage with multiple framings of environmental communication and draw on key concepts, theories and debates from lectures, discussion and readings from the course.
In addition to the above content, your paper should be well-written and logically organized with clear section titles, smooth transitions, and minimal grammatical errors. You should use concrete examples wherever appropriate to support your argument. You should cite all sources that you use in the text and in your bibliography (using whichever citation style you desire as long as it is consistent).
    ———————–
Finally, above mentions two of Frames/ Class concepts.
My class is enviromental Communication so the a class concept you could use is  slow violence some where in the description of frames
    Thank you!

  • Exploring Labor Conditions, Audience Measurement, and Repetition in the TV Industry: A Critical Analysis of Project Greenlight, Netflix, and Selected TV Programs

Please note: more important than any specific length for your answer will be that you answer the overall question and each sub-question within it thoroughly.
    1. Consider our screening Project Greenlight. As a program about the entertainment industry, how does it engage with the potential issues and values found in contemporary labor conditions of the TV industries? In developing your answer, consider the following: what is development, and potential development hell, and how is that process depicted here? How does the depiction provide insight on the “world world” of Hollywood, both as a publicly- disclosed deep text and as a depiction you can critically analyze? And how does it repeat aspects of industry lore or other values held with this work culture with tangible results (i.e. who is hired, who is “in the room,” whose opinion is most valued, etc.)
    2. We looked at recent (and rare) released viewership numbers from Netflix in week 7, but they also recently announced they will no longer report overall subscriber numbers. How does Netflix’s approach to data and viewership numbers differ from past delivery models use of similar data? Why? What does Netflix’s shifting relationship with audience measurement data suggest about how they are valuing their audience? And what potential challenges, in both commodifying their audience generally and in streaming delivery specifically, might account for these shifting strategies?
    3. We have discussed how the TV programming that is produced is in large part a product of how TV content is monetized and produced in the most cost-efficient manner. Using one of the following screenings from class – Tale of the Nine-Tailed, Survivor, Star Trek: Lower Decks, or Saved By The Bell – discuss how you see the show participating in the economy of repetition. How do you see repetition within the storytelling content of the series? How do you see repetition within the show’s larger industrial context? And how do you see the use of repetition in how the show saves money and/or finds ways to serialize its production?

  • The Impact of Social Media on Political Discourse: A Critical Analysis

The purpose of this paper is to present a coherent thesis exploring some aspect of the effects of new media on various audiences. You might, for example, explore the role of new media in terrorist recruitment; the effects of social media on social movements, such as the #Blacklivesmatter movement; the effects of internet video gaming; the response to COVID-19; the uses of social media in advertising; how social media use affects politics, etc. (For purposes of this assignment, television is NOT regarded as one of the new media.)
The paper should be 4 to 6 pages in length and should have AT LEAST four scholarly sources. It should be typewritten, conform to APA (or MLA) style, and contain a bibliography of the sources cited. An abstract and title page are not required. Please note that one of the excellent databases available through the library is Communication and Mass Media Complete.

  • A Tale of Two Dramatic Serials: A Comparative Study of Television Program Systems in Colombia and England “Uncovering the Truth about Using Bots: A Case Study on the Importance of Proper Research Methods and Academic Writing”

    PLEASE DO COLOMBIA AND ENGLAND
Country Case Study: In this research essay, you will compare and contrast the status of dramatic serials from 2 countries. The assignment builds on the knowledge and depth you have built over the term. The comparison approach allows you a more complex understanding of the contexts of television program systems in general and of dramatic programs specifically. To tackle this assignment, chose 2 countries, not the USA. Consider the following items in a well organized essay:
Describe the level of economic development, languages spoken, age, gender and ethnic/cultural demographics, etc. of the chosen countries. What is your supporting evidence? What excellent sources are you drawing from?
Specify and describe who controls the media? Describe whether the media system is privately controlled by conglomerates, elite families, the government, or combinations of interests. What is your supporting evidence? What excellent sources are you drawing from?
Describe policies or laws that have impact on dramatic serial content and distribution. For example, do laws prohibit certain content? Do laws prohibit certain imports? What is your supporting evidence.
Describe policies or laws that have impact on dramatic serial viewing. For example, are certain TV shows illegal to own and watch? For example, can women and male viewers watch together in a public cafe? What is your supporting evidence? What excellent sources are you drawing from?
Name key media companies, organizations, and production companies that are involved in melodramatic television serial creation and production. Do these entities export the programs? What is your supporting evidence? What excellent sources are you drawing from?
Specify how dramatic television serials are available to the public (DVD, Internet, cable television, etc)? What is your supporting evidence? What excellent sources are you drawing from?
After you have gathered information from your countries, ask yourself: Why do the differences or similarities exist?
Be sure NOT to copy and paste your draft writings from your notes into the paper and leave it there. Be sophisticated. Rework and polish your writing, consider your topic issues carefully. You are conducting analysis and you want to put forth your brilliant ideas!
Safe Assign will identify other students’ work as plagiarism if your paper pulls from someone’s previous work . Be careful not to copy and paste from pieces of sentences from the Internet and pieces of articles, and claim those sentences as your writing since that is plagiarism. Safe Assign will bust that too. Give credit where credit is due and quote directly from reliable govt, industry, academic sources.
You cannot pick the USA. You cannot pick the USA for this assignment. If you pick the USA, Captain America will bite your toe and you will get a zero.
Advice: Pick a country with a language you can read extremely well. Be able to understand the spoken language extremely well. For example, if you can read Italian news media, novels and government documents well and have facility in the spoken language, you can pick Italy since your sources will be in Italian and video clips from TV shows will have actors speaking Italian.
Advice: The United Kingdom is big. Be specific about your countries. What are the exact two countries you are writing about?
Advice: Latin America is big. Be specific about your countries. What are the exact two countries are you writing about? Be extremely clear about your usage of “North America”, “Central America” and “South America”.
Advice: You can pick a country from one hemisphere and compare it to another from a different hemisphere it you want.
Advice: If you use Wiki as a source, that is very very bad. Never apply Wiki to academic or professional work since the information could be coming from a bored twelve-year old with creative ideas. Your score will suffer by at least one whole grade if you use Wiki. The score can be a zero. Do not use Wiki.
Adivice: Using a bot is bad. Bots spew out confused information. Using a bot is cheating with very bad disorganized bulltwinkies.
Advice: Use the standard Academic Essay Format. This allows for standard organizational structure.
Your case study should be 6 pages of writing (please don’t have more for this Essay) plus references, written in APA style, and follow a  Standard Academic Essay Format Standard Academic Essay Format – Alternative Formats  If you would like to include visuals or charts, put them in an appendix at the end of the paper. Make sure to include your last name in the attached file name (for example, Wong_CaseStudy.doc) and within the document itself. Refer to the rubric called  Case Study – Part 2 rubric Case Study – Part 2 rubric – Alternative Formats for grading criteria for this assignment. Case Studies are due by the date listed in the Course Schedule. Do not attempt to send your paper through UConn mail, it will be deleted.
Note: Upon submission, your case study paper will be evaluated by SafeAssign a plagiarism detection software. Ensure you have avoided plagiarism prior to submitting your work. Do not copy and paste from articles or websites. Do not plagiarize your own work by just copying and pasting sentences from your previous essays.
