Title: The Impact of TikTok Algorithms on Advertising Effectiveness: A Uses and Gratifications Perspective
The research paper is almost completed. It’s only missing table on contents, abstract, and
methodology sectio. Therefore, I just need a bit of editing with feedback I will attached and
will also need the other sections that are missing.
I have also attached an example of how it’s supposed to look like. As well as the instructions.
This is the feedback for the paper thats alredy written which I will attached.
“Your RQs look good to me.
Your H! essentially poses the same questions you asked in RQ 1 and 2, so you
can remove it.
Try a different and more
substantive title. You could have discussed some more background information
and key literature in your Introduction. Because Tik Tok is new, you could have
discussed different types of advertisements within this platform. Because you
have focused on Tik Tok algorithms, you could have explained how it is
different from other social media platforms. You have repeated yourself—see
whether you can reduce that. Add more literature. Before discussing the Uses
and Gratifications theory, show relevance and provide context. You need to
explain the theory more. I did not see the relevance of this theory to your
research. Later, when you put your research questions, you referenced users’
motivation. You could have provided additional context and relevance by
providing more details of the uses and gratifications theory. Some of your
paragraphs are too short—see how you combine thematically similar paragraphs.
Delete the extra spaces in between paragraphs.” -

Watch the assigned clip of the scene from Taxi Driver (Martin Scorsese, 1976) to identify and describe the most important cinematic elements in each shot, including the transitions between them.
It is necessary to consider the following cinematic elements for your shot-by-shot description:
Cinematography (Shot Scales – Long Shot, Medium Shot, Close-up; Camera Angles – High-Angle Shot, Low-Angle Shot, Canted Framing, Straight-on Angle Shot; Focus – Shallow Focus, Deep Focus; Camera Movements – Pan, Tilt, Tracking Shot, Zoom; Framing – Centered Framing, Decentered Framing; Space – Onscreen Space, Offscreen Space; POV Shot; Subjective Camerawork)
Mise-en-Scene (Props; Set Design, Costume; Make-up Design; Acting – Expressions, Gestures; Blocking – Positions, Movements; Natural Lighting, Artificial Lighting, Hard Lighting, Soft Lighting, High-key Lighting, Low-key Lighting, Lighting Sources – Frontal, Back, Side, Top, Under)
Sound Design (Volume – High-volume, Low-volume; Diegetic Sounds; Nondiegetic Sound; Simultaneous Sound; Nonsimultaneous Sound; Offscreen Sound; Onscreen Sound; Sound Bridge)
Editing (Shot transitions – Cut, Fade, Dissolve, Wipe; Continuity Editing – Match-on-Action, Shot-Reverse-Shot, Eye-Line Match, 180 degree rule, Establishing/Reestablishing Shot; Montage; Ellipsis; Crosscutting; Short Take; Long Take)
Guidelines
Label and number each shot in upper-case letters at the beginning of each description, e.g. “SHOT 4”, with the transition written in upper-case letters at the end, e.g. “CUT”.
Your descriptions do not need to refer to the plot of the film, however you will need to refer to the action or dialogue of the character(s) in each shot.
Your description of each shot should be written in the present tense.
You do not need to write in complete sentences, although any short-hand notation needs to be precise and should employ terminology introduced in the class and defined in the glossary.
Refer to a character’s name instead of an actor’s name.
You may note if any shot is repeated by stating it in the description, e.g. “Same as SHOT 1″ – but since no shot is exactly the same you will need to add further description.
Example
SHOT 4: Deep focus high-angle long shot of taxi; decentered framing; reestablishing shot of street. “St. Regis” hotel sign above; sidewalk below is clean; low-key lighting. Two porters stand under hotel sign; Betsy sits in backseat of taxi; Travis enters from offscreen right, walking to driver’s side and getting into taxi; Diegetic simultaneous onscreen sounds of Travis opening door, getting inside and closing door. CUT.

“The Ethical Dilemma: Examining the Intersection of IVF and Abortion Rights” Research Questions: 1. How do restrictions on women’s access to abortion impact the use of IVF and the destruction of unused embryos?
I need a communication paper that talks about the situation surrounding ivf and abortion the idea that restriction on women’s access to abortion is done essentially and now states like AL are making off illegal bc of “the children”. I know that stars like LA have work around like storing of the embryos out of state in order to destroy unused embryos. so I need at least 2 solid research questions. for the proposoal. I am very pro access to abortion is healthcare. https://nam12.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fslate.com%2Fnews-and-politics%2F2024%2F03%2Falabama-ivf-crisis-legal-analysis.html&data=05%7C02%7CAshley.M.Owens%40usm.edu%7Ca261851f9701498827a308dc42c09b66%7C7f3da4be2722432ebfa764080d1eb1dc%7C0%7C0%7C638458642205106249%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&sdata=2f08z5EleT7khDTY1i3YBFOiJSm4IghHS5QvlLU3Xm8%3D&reserved=0

Of course, we are adding the media’s framing of race to our analysis. Use the other two scholarly texts to add to your analysis of race and other identities that may occur in your media selection.
In your introduction, you need to introduce Kendall’s text, as well as the media text you are analyzing. Kendall provides plenty of interesting and clarifying discussion and commentary that would work well in helping you to create a solid context for this study of the portrayal of economic class in our current media. The media do shape our perceptions of class; they also shape our perceptions of race, ethnicity, and gender.
Two main questions as you proceed to analyze your chosen media text (TV/streaming show o film):
Does your media text evidence some of the framing discussed in Kendall, Deo, et al., and/or Juna, et al.? Be specific with the scenes or characters in your media and clarify the framing explained in our Module readings. Use quotes from the readings, and carefully described scenes from the show/film to explain your arguments. Remember that your media text can challenge the arguments made by the readings.
Is the show/film you are analyzing a “good” show, meaning does it portray people and our world accurately or is this media troubling in that it gives viewers “a socially constructed reality that is not necessarily an accurate reflection of the United States” (Kendall 431)? Any thoughts on the consequences for viewers seeing these kinds of stories or “realities” (and more so children/young adults if they are part of the audience)?
The Paper:
After your paper introduction (~1/2 page), provide a brief understanding of some of the lenses you will use. Kendall’s text will likely be a significant part of your analysis. Briefly provide some background on the frames you will use in your paper. Kendall provides social class frames and the other texts help us define framing that coincides more with race, etc.
This first part explaining the frames you will use, following your introduction, should be about 1 page.
Clarify the lens(es) you will use to frame the target, your media text.
Next, move to the analysis of your media text, where you will use Kendall’s frames to help clarify the discussion of class that’s taking place in the film or show that you chose for this paper. You should find three to four good examples from your media text that enable you to apply Kendall’s frames, whether the media text reinforces or complicates her argument. Over the course of your application (framing your media text with Kendall), the quality of your analysis will be based on your insight (the clarity and intelligence of your analysis), which is supported and strengthened with the use of text (references to the target text and to Kendall). Please, do not overlook the use of text in strengthening your writing.
Of course, of your 3-4 examples from your show/film, if the framing of race or gender occurs that you would like to include in your paper, simply substitute those frames for the social class frames. Your body analysis should be 3-4 examples total.
Three to four good examples from your media text could mean to 3-4 scenes, or 3-4 episodes, or 3-4 characters. I am letting you figure-out the best way to approach your analysis of the show using Kendall’s (and other) frames. This analysis is 2-3 pages long.
In your conclusion, briefly discuss the importance of studying our media in this way, the importance of our awareness of some of the truths of American social class, race, gender, etc., and/or share some thoughts on the value of Kendall’s text as a frame or lens. Does her approach continue to be useful in 2024? Why or why not?
Your paper is to be about 5 pages long. Please adhere to MLA format (double-spaced, one-inch margins, page numbers, etc.), include a Works Cited page (not included in the page count), and edit and proofread carefully. -
“Exploring the Intersection of Current Events and Class Topics: A Multimedia Presentation” Title: “The Role of Multimedia Sources in News Consumption: Making Connections to Class Topics and Readings”
Purpose of assignment: Each week, a small group of students will be assigned to present individually over a current event pertaining to our weekly topic. The purpose of this assignment is to add updated context to our topic by supplying relevant examples to the concepts discussed in the assigned readings and videos. For example, if we are discussing privacy, you should identify several recent privacy issues to illustrate the concepts from the readings.
Current event: To begin, you will need to identify at least one news article that reflects a current event pertaining to your assigned topic. The goal of this current event is to demonstrate how the area of focus impacts society and/or daily life. If your topic is privacy for example, you might identify a recent data breach on a popular technology platform and use that as your current event. It’s okay to include more than one current event if you think they are all relevant.
It is also important to connect the information in your source to the class readings and videos. You must comb through the assigned readings and pull pieces of the text that match things in the presentation. Please include author’s name and page numbers when making connections. For example, you might say something like: “The current event discusses a data breach by Facebook. The assigned article by Kyle Torpey describes something called the ‘I don’t care’ mantra on page 13. Torpey states that the ‘I don’t care’ mantra reflects the idea that people do not want to take the time to control their own privacy because it’s too complicated. The fact that Facebook continues to violate personal privacy, but people continue to use it, is a good example of the point Torpey is trying to make.”
Requirements:
Article may not be more than a month old from when the assignment is due.
Think of the following questions to help you construct your presentation: How does this event relate to my assigned topic?
How is this event important to me?
How is this event important to others? Does it impact a specific group of people/things? If so, how? Does it have a global impact? Does it have a worldwide affect?
Does the article present a problem? If so, what possible solution can you think of?
Avoid statements like: “This event does not affect me.” If the event does not affect you, focus your reflection on how it impacts those people/places/things that it does affect.
Your closing should tell what you think or feel about the EVENT (not the article itself) and why you have the reaction you do.
Multimedia source: You should identify at least one multimedia source that enhances the class’s understanding of your current event. Multimedia sources can be YouTube videos, sound bites, original graphics, clips of television shows, book reviews, etc. This is a very broad category, but the goal is to add to the entire presentation with interesting or connective media. Your presentation should show the media and provide a rationale for why this media piece was chosen and what it tells us about the topic.
Presentation: Last, you should take all the information collected in the previous steps and use it to build a presentation using Powerpoint, Google Slides, VoiceThread, or another presentation building software that allows you to record voice and media over your slides. The presentation should be clean, well-organized, and should not contain too much text on each slide. Please remember to include an introduction and a conclusion, plus a works cited page somewhere in the presentation. Your presentation should include both an introduction and conclusion. I would like your presentation to be at least 5 minutes, but no longer than 10.
Grading Rubric for Assignment:
30 points: Your current event selection fits your topic and meets all the requirements listed in this document. You adequately describe the impact of your current event, who it affects, and any possible solutions/conclusions.
20 points: Presentation style: All the sources are correctly cited. Your presentation is organized and clear. Your presentation is at least 5 minutes long, but not longer than 10.
20 points: Multimedia source: Your source(s) is relevant, and you spend time relating it back to the current event article and/or the assigned readings for the week. THE PROJECT IS ABOUT NEW”S CONSUMPTION
Th
30 points: Presentation topic well tied to the class topic and the assigned readings. In other words, I want you to show me throughout the presentation how what you presented ties back to the weekly topic and the readings and give examples of where and when it does.
