  • “Reforming the National Labor Relations Act: Addressing the Power Imbalance in the Union-Management Relationship”

    The
reason we have labor law is the lack of bargaining power for workers in the
employment situation, especially when there is no clear business owner such as
in a corporation or a public company.
Therefore, laws have been enacted to guide the rights and duties of
    employees, unions, and employers.  Most
of the textbook chapters cover a sub-topic within the union-management
relationship and most of them are guided by laws such as the National Labor
Relations Act (NLRA).  Please choose one
of these topics, or any related topic that interests you, and write an 8-10
page (double-spaced) paper on it.  You
can take the approach that some aspect of the law needs to be changed and argue
for that change.  Or you can summarize a
topic with your commentary on the effectiveness of the law within it.  You can be pro-union or pro-management, but
the best papers drive home your views with support and strong arguments
regardless of your position on the issue.

  • “Expanding the WBS for a New Store Construction Project”

    Add to the WBS
    Professor stated:
You have correctly shown the WBS outline divided into three levels. Your WBS has four major categories (Project Initiation, Design and Planning, Construction Phase, and Store Setup and IT Installation).
These should be increased to nine. It is best the categories follow the project’s high-level deliverables, the project Statement of Work (SOW), as follows:
design the new store building (including the garden center), parking lots, and landscaping
    obtain required licenses and permits
prepare the site and lay the foundation
construct the new store building and finish the interior
    construct the garden center
outfit the store with shelves, fixtures, and IT systems (e.g., communications and payment systems)
pave the parking lots and landscape the exterior of the store
stock the store with inventory (For this project, stick to a storewide, high-level inventory budget, though you may have to make estimates based on different product categories, such as lumber, hardware, appliances, etc.)
staff, hire, and train store personnel
Project 2 Scenario video says the store will have 100,000 square feet with garden center and a 200-space parking lot, minimum of 40,000 different products from more than 3,000 vendors worldwide, with grand opening in 10 months.
For the size of this project, it is appropriate to list 8-12 activities under each of the above nine categories.
There will be a 200-space parking lot. So, no need for a separate garage.
I have edited #5 in in my comments on WBS above to remove construction of garage. This is also in line with Project 2 step 1.

  • “DBS Bank: Navigating the Management Revolution through Big Data and Technology”

Please do a case analysis on the case attached “DBS BANK”
Include citations from the course syllabus (supplemental readings and/or cases) and show a clear linkage in the analysis/assessment in the final paper. If this is a paper that could be written for just about any management course, it will not pass – it must clearly be “in conversation” with the ideas from the course.
More than 3 (typically around 10) non-class references from reputable sources. At least a couple must be from peer-reviewed sources. This is not a “news article”-based paper, nor can it lean on sources such as blogs or LinkedIn opinion pieces. Such may be used for “color” but not as evidence.
All references must be properly used, cited, and referenced in a standard format (e.g., APA or MLA)
The paper may be an in-depth case analysis (typically an Ivey or an HBS case) of a single firm, or an investigation of a trend in international business with some concrete examples, backed up by evidence.
Adhere to the guidelines in the syllabus regarding length, formatting, etc.
Written without the assistance of chatGPT or other AI-related technology.
The paper is to be strictly more than 9 and fewer than 12 pages, double-spaced, with one-inch margins and 11-12 point Times New Roman font, submitted in Word format. Indent the first line of each paragraph and do not add extra spaces between paragraphs or sections. One line between sections is sufficient; none is also acceptable.
Include page numbers at the bottom of every page except the cover page. Abstracts or Executive Summaries are permissable, but will not count towards the page minimum/maximum.
Use APA-style citations throughout. Include both in-line citations and proper references at the end.

  • “Corporate Social Responsibility: Integrating Ethics and GVV for Company Success”

In prior modules, you have delved into select traditional ethics theories and incorporating this information into your decision-making process. You included how you would incorporate your GVV results in decision making with current examples that you selected for analysis. In this unit you will examine Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs to evaluate their impact on company performance and profitability. Kline, 2018) cites research supporting the hypothesis that CSR program integration through all elements of their operations see many benefits. Kline additionally states “The study showed that companies not integrating their CSR programs into the business could still earn a reputation advantage, but not much else.” (2018, para 5). You will also be analyzing a personal example where you can incorporate your GVV results into action planning for increased CSR integration.
In a 3-7 page APA formatted paper excluding diagrams and other visual/oral aids as appropriate, address the following:
Section 1: CSR History and Background
The historical foundations for and evolution of the development of CSR programs and processes
The core elements of corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs
Research supporting the efficacy of CSR programs on company success. Include at least two scholarly sources in addition to the weekly readings and videos
Does CSR have any relationship to other theories you have studied in this class or in others you have studied? If so, which ones and why?
Section 2: CSR Company Examples and Analysis
Identify at least one company from your research or personal experience who have integrated CSR throughout their organization, and one that does not appear to have completed this integration.
Provide a summary of the business(s) that you have selected for this analysis. Include but not limited to:
    Name
    Industry
    Values, Vision, Mission, purpose
    Public vs private
    Financials
    Size
    National/International
Discuss why you selected these companies. What was of interest to you?
Using Carrol’s CSR pyramid or another model you have uncovered in your research, provide an analysis of CSR integration for each of these companies.
Based on the research conducted by Kline and other sources you have uncovered in your research, what conclusions if any would you draw on CRS and company success?
Would you base any buying or personal career decisions company CSR programs? Why or why not?
    Section 3 – Personal Application

Present an action plan for any recommendations for increasing CSR in your company.
