  • Title: Enhancing Organizational Behavior at SECU: Lessons Learned and Recommendations for the CEO

SECU is a bank ran in only NC with currently 275 branches. Known for having a tag line of “people helping people”. SECU is known as the largest credit union in the state and the second largest in the country!
SECU started in 1937 and the CEO is Leigh Brady. Brady has a video on the website where she says she leads SECU after being an employee for about 36 years. She is looking to better the digital aspect of the company.
According to some employees on Glassdoor they give the company a 3.5 out of 5 stars. And on indeed some of the people are saying the company lacks communication between departments and provides the employees with low salary. It seems like employees like the company more for its benefits than what they provide. In my part of the company everyone complains about the hours and the team management skills.

The thesis for the memo to the CEO:
How will you be implementing technology and improving to stay the 2nd largest credit union
in the industry as the banking field is becoming competitive
    (2) three well-articulated lessons learned about organizational behavior at the organization
    from articles with citations included:
SECU provides a 24/7 customer service to their clients playing a crucial role in the needs of
their customers making it so they know they are available to assist their financial needs
and ensuring employees are equipped to provide excellent customer service.
    https://www.ncsecu.org/Home/GeneralHelp.html
SECU does volunteer works and team bonding with the employees of the company focusing on fostering teamwork, communication, and collaboration among employees.
    https://www.ncsecu.org/AboutSECU/CommunityInvolvement.html
SECU is a diverse company and does not discriminate towards any of their employees or members creating an inclusive workplace where people from all backgrounds feel valued and respected.
    https://www.ncsecu.org/Home/CorporateStatement.html
    (4) the organization’s strengths and areas of possible risk in terms of MOB:
I think a big strength is the customer service the credit union provides to their members, giving the members multiple forms of receiving assistance whether it is the 24/7 phone calls, the app allowing you to communicate with employees or the branches all across the state. A possible risk the company can see is members going to other institutions because of their lack of language speaking though the company is very diverse there are some branches that do not have one person that speak a language beside english and I believe that is crucial.
    whenever
    (3) two to three OB concepts that best fit what you’ve learned about the organization and
address the rationale for choosing the concepts (cite sources):
    5) recommendations for the CEO:
Implement live chatting where members don’t have to wait for a response from the app. The
bank is a really understanding bank with the motto of “People Helping People” and me being
in the industry I see them helping people in ways other institutions dont.
