“The Changing Dynamics of the Modern Work Environment: Prioritizing Employee Welfare and Satisfaction for Attracting and Retaining Generation Z Workers” “The Impact of Effective Decision Making on Interpersonal Behavior and Performance Ratings”
_This assignment aims to explore the evolving work environment over the past 20 years, taking into account the needs and expectations of Generation Z workers. By examining the changes that have occurred and considering the benefits of prioritizing employee welfare and satisfaction, we can gain insights into how organizations can adapt to attract and retain younger employees.
Imagine you are part of a team discussing the changing dynamics of the modern work environment. Your team comprises professionals from various industries, including technology, healthcare, finance, and marketing. Each member brings their unique perspective and experiences to the discussion. The team wants to delve into how the work environment has evolved over the years and understand the advantages of emphasizing employee welfare and satisfaction.
1. Based on your experience and the readings, what are the most significant work environment evolutions over the last 20 years and why?
2. Explain how the organization will benefit by focusing on employee welfare and satisfaction. Provide relevant examples with supporting evidence.
Over the past 20 years, there are a lot of evolution in working environment. Black, J.S. et al (2022) have listed many changes, derived from challenges of international competition, new technologies, increased quality, employee motivation and commitment, diverse workforce management, and ethical behaviour. Depending on our working environment and business core, we can decide which evolution is significant to our organization to analyze. For example, if a small family bookstore, already famous in town, decides no need to expand but aim to maintain the daily business, “employee motivation and commitment” could play important role over the time, to make sure their employees love their job, and can maintain the good service and quality of products to the buyers.
However, if a company is larger in size, and have a huge number of employees spreading around the world like Google (over 190,000 employees), “diverse workforce management” could play more important role in management than a small family bookstore in a town, like how to balance the salary between management in different countries; or how to prevent cultural differences at workplace.
If the organization’s business core is to expand and more competitive than its rivals, I believe “new technologies” would play a more important role to make sure you go further to achive more customers’ and effectively manage their employees
It varies between individuals’ staindpoint, the nature of the work is to provide a degree of economic self-sufficiency, social interchange, social status, self-esteem, and identity. Black, J.S. et al (2022). Employees has to involve in their job to have sensation of meaning in order to ensure the organization’s productivity and effectiveness
Without this, individuals often experience sensations of powerlessness, meaninglessness, and normlessness—a condition called alienation. In work, individuals have the possibility of finding some meaning in their day-to-day activities—if, of course, their work is sufficiently challenging. When employees are not involved in their jobs because the work is not challenging enough, they usually see no reason to apply themselves, which, of course, jeopardizes productivity and organizational effectiveness. Therefore, I do agree that organization should focus on employee’s welfare and satisfaction.
1. On any search engine, we can easily find top companies with different criteria for emoployyess happy, like: top companies with best work-life balance, top companies that treat employees best, companies with highest employees’ satisfaction. And not surprise, that those companies are all well known internationally and gain lots of success thourghout past years: Facebook
2. Netflix
3. HubSpot
4. BetterUp
5. Google
6. Amazon
7. Starbucks
8. Microsoft
9. Campbell Soup Company

Title: International Market Expansion Strategy for Warburtons Crumpets in Germany and Japan
For one tangible product (not a service) of a chosen UK
brand, write a 3,000 word report, which evaluates the opportunities available
in two new countries. The product should not be currently available in these
two new countries (the brand or company should not officially be involved in any
activities related to this product in these two countries) but the product must
be available in the UK. One of the countries must be a European country (not
the UK) and the other, a non-European one.
Your report must be underpinned (and fully referenced) by
appropriate theories, theoretical concepts, models and frameworks. Your report must
comprise of the following 5 parts. Further guidance on the structure can be
found on page 17 and 18.
Part 1 [worth 10%]:
Brief introduction to the chosen UK brand and chosen product. Justification of
the decision to internationalise or continue internationalisation.
Part 2 [worth 25%]:
Profile the marketing environments for your chosen product for the two potential
countries (one European and one non-European) using STEEPLE.
Part 3 [worth 15%]:
Develop a positioning map for each country by applying competitor and consumer
insights. Clearly discuss how you would differentiate yourself from your
competition in each country.
Part 4 [worth 15%]:
Critically discuss, justify and evaluate the chosen market entry mode(s) and method(s)
for each country.
Part 5 [worth 25%]:
Present and discuss the standardisation versus adaptation strategy for the two countries
relating to the 4 Ps; i.e. Product, Price, Place & Promotion (including
Packaging if relevant).
Presentation & Referencing is worth 10%.
Further Guidance:
Choice of countries: You must choose one European and one non-European country. If
you choose large countries such as the USA, China, India, etc. you must decide
whether to go country-wide or decide to launch in a specific region or state
initially. The 27 EU (European Union) countries, countries in the EEA (European
Economic Area) and Switzerland should be treated as ‘European’ countries. Turkey is not a European
country. Consider the brand’s current international operations and experience
when picking the two countries.
Choice of brand: The UK brand could
be owned by a UK company; e.g. Warburtons is a family owned UK brand or it
could be owned by a non-UK entity. What is important is that the brand you pick
has UK origins; e.g. Cadbury and Innocent have UK origins but are now owned by
American entities.
Choice of product: You must choose one tangible product, not a service. It must be the
same product for both countries. You must not choose a range of products. The
UK brand’s product must exist in the UK and must not exist in your chosen
countries (the brand or company should not officially be involved in any
activities related to this product in these two countries). There could be
other competing brands with the same product or similar products in these two countries.
You just have to ensure that the chosen product of your brand does not exist in
the two countries.
Quick Tip: Although simplistic,
Warburtons for instance can be your brand and crumpets could be your product.
Please check your choice of brand and product with your seminar leader or
module leader before you start working on your report. Students are strongly
advised to get their brand and product approved by the end of week 2. -

“Adapting to Changes: Delivering Bad News and Maintaining Goodwill at Marble Home Makeovers”
I have to deliver the news as Juan
SITUATION 1 (TUESDAY AFTERNOON)
Cindy Cooper Informs Juan That Marble Home Makeovers’s Credit Line WIII Be Reduced Substantally Cindy is in charge of small-business loans. Bank officials just decided that the bank was holding excessively risky credit lines with the majority of its small-business clients. Cindy was told to rein in dozens of these credit lines by reducing them by 50 to 75 percent. She called and met with several of these clients over the past week, many of whom stated they did not know how to meet the bank’s sudden demands.
TASK
How can Cindy inform Juan of changes to his credit line and also preserve business with Marble Home Mak ee the section ” Delivering Bad News to Clients.”)
How can Juan write a message to employees informing them that they will have reduced work hours withou cessively reducing employee morale and commitment? (See the section ” Dellvering Bad-News Announcements
3. How can Juan turn down a supervisor’s request and still maintain goodwill?
4. How can Juan reject this customer’s claim but retain her loyalty?
How can Juan tell one of the most popular employees that he is not performing well?
The presentation is 5-10 minutes. We are a group of 5 and my presentation is expected to be about two minutes and I have to use a reference while delivering the bad news.
In the first situation from the chapter case, Cindy Cooper needs to inform Juan Hernandez that the bank will reduce the credit line to his iness by between 50 and 75 percent within a few months. Since Marble Home Makeovers is currently in a poor cash position, this new policy is serious and could be viewed as medium severity. Because the bank has some flexibility in establishing the new credit line terms luction of between 50 and 75 percent within 60 to 90 days), Juan may be able to negotiate the best possible terms. Therefore, he does e some control. In Cindy’s less effective approach (see 2 Figure 11.1), she writes an email message, which is not as rich and personal required based on the severity of this situation. In the more effective delivery (see (2 Figure 11.2), Cindy calls Juan, meets with him, I follows principles for delivering bad news effectively.
