“Exploring the Beauty of Nature: A Mixed Media Art Piece” Title: “Exploring the Beauty of Nature: A Mixed Media Art Piece” Introduction: For this visual art project, I wanted to explore the beauty of nature and how it
Please, also check the file attach where I developed the main idea of the art that you must draw.
Then, follow the next steps:
Based on your plan from Visual Art Project: Stage One, create a piece of artwork that communicates your idea. You must document your process by taking photos or screenshots of the work in progress.
Then you will create a Word document that includes photos of the process, an explanation of the tools, programs, and methods you used, and a final piece of art. Submit the document to Canvas saved as LastnameFirstname_VisualArtProject2.doc. Be sure to review the project grading rubric before submission.
Follow the process below:
1. Gather your materials and review Visual Art Project: Stage One Assignment.
2. Begin with a rough sketch. A rough sketch is more detailed than a thumbnail sketch and enables you to develop your concept. Rough sketches are beneficial for all media, including photography, collages, posters, social media banners, paintings, etc.
3. As you work, take photos and/or screenshots of the process. Visual documentation of your process is part of your grade.
4. The piece of art must be created by you. Submitting an AI design is not acceptable for this project.
5. Embed photos of the process and your final piece of art into a Word document.
6. Include a desсrіption of the tools, programs (if digital), methods, and any other relevant information about the process in the document. -
“The Impact of Hip-Hop Guiding Principles on Contemporary Film: A Critical Analysis”
Final Paper — This a formal paper and 700 words minimum are required. Your paper must meet academic guidelines with a thesis, justifications, citations, and new research. Review the COURSE RUBRIC as you write this paper.
Final Paper: Due May 6 in dropbox. Pick one of the Six Guiding Principles. The link to the article is in Module 4, so you have already read it and need to review it again.
The final paper is like the other writing assignments but with one primary difference. I am asking you to “Briefly explain which one of the principles is particularly and personally interesting and relevant to you and why. Briefly quote from the principle.”
From there the writing is pretty much the same as for earlier papers. You will end your first paragraph with a thesis that explains whys this principle applies to a required course film of your choice. This thesis will frame your Final Paper analysis and structure your subsequent justifications.
As usual, your paper will be evaluated by the rubric. You should include analytical elements that are appropriate and that justify your thesis. Not every analytical element can or should be included, but primarily those that justify your thesis.
Follow the rubric. This writing must be at least 700 words.
General Ideas: The purpose of the paper is to critically analyze a film and situate it within course ideas, and the contemporary world or course history. It is to evaluate the content, Mise-en-scène, and hip-hop cultural/musical influences, as appropriate for your argument, in relationship to the film.
Critical as part of the thesis:
as usual, explain how the film relates or does not relate to the reading’s theoretical concerns and issues
Structure your paper so that your thesis and sub-assertions are justified by
analysis of the narrative, themes, scenes and/or cultural context
Mise-en-scène must be a part of your analysis
academic sources — use nonacademic sparingly, mostly for director/actor quotes etc. if relevant.
incorporate a NEW independent source (academic, interview quote, or professional rating/audience reception source) in this writing.
If the following items add to your paper, include them as appropriate (you can include the last two elementis in your final paragraph)
artistic and studio motivations for the film (research directors, studio, etc.
who the film is intended to appeal to– its audience(s) and larger meanings for them
how it addresses or does not address African Americans, hip hop origins, and what that suggests
academically supported historical and cultural context -

Exploring the Aesthetics of “Untitled” by Mark Bradford at MOCA “Untitled” by Mark Bradford is a large-scale mixed media artwork that immediately grabs the attention of viewers with its bold colors, intricate textures, and layered composition.
You will visit an art museum and choose one (1) piece of art that grabs your attention and that you’d like to write about.
The artwork can be a painting, photograph, graphic design, or anything within a single frame (NO multiple frame exhibits, no sculpture, no decorative arts, no video/film, no performing arts).
Write a minimum of 400 words about the work connecting at least 3 visual design/aesthetic theories we have discussed in class to the work. BE SPECIFIC about the theories or visual design/aesthetics. For example, DO NOT say “visual cues” without stating which visual cue or DO NOT say “lighting” without saying what kind of lighting. In addition to stating the theory or visual design/aesthetic element (the WHAT) you also must state HOW and/or WHY they relate to the image.
Clearly mark in BOLD
the theories or ideas from the textbook you use. Type your discussion
(or cut-and-paste if you first write it in a word processor) just like
you’ve done for other discussions.
In addition, you must take a “selfie” standing
next to the artwork. If the museum doesn’t allow pictures inside, you
can take a selfie next to the museum name on the exterior. Include the
selfie in the discussion post.
WARNING: No selfie, no points. If you forget, you’ll have to go back to museum.
REMEMBER: Spelling and grammar count; this is academic writing.

Exploring the Social Context of American Art: A Comparative Analysis of Objects and Themes

These questions are designed to demonstrate your knowledge of the social context for the production and reception of individual works of art. For each question, you will be given an image of an object and a prompt to guide your discussion. In 5-8 sentences, you should respond to the prompt with an answer that connects the physical form of the work to the social context in which it was created and/or used.
Object comparison 2
These questions are designed to help you synthesize your knowledge of individual objects into a broader narrative of American art. For each question, you will be given a pair of images to compare and contrast, as well as a prompt to guide your discussion. In 2-3 paragraphs, you should respond to the prompt with an answer that identifies both similarities and differences between the two works and connects those similarities and differences to the social contexts in which each work was created.
Comprehensive essay 1

Title: The Evolution of Popular Music: A Journey Through Critical Listening
Choose one of the themes below and discuss how it has affected popular music from the 1950s through the 1990s. You will need to provide multiple examples related to your chosen theme from each decade.
1- Critical Listening – Focus on stylistic elements of popular music genres and how these musical elements have evolved over time. How have musical genres borrowed different elements from each other? How have song forms, instrumentation, melodies/rhythms, timbre, and the lyrical content of popular music evolved throughout our course? You should cite and compare multiple audio examples from each unit to address this topic.
2- Music and Identity – How has popular music been shaped by individual and group identity throughout our course? How does music in turn reflect these ideas surrounding identity? Issues such as race, social structure, age, gender, fashion/trends, and politics should be addressed. How does music shape your personal identity?
3- Music and Technology – How has technology affected our popular music evolution? You may consider both the technology of creating/performing music as well as the technology for distributing, receiving, and consuming music.
4- The Music Business– What role has the music business played in affecting our popular music development? How has it changed, how has it stayed the same, what are some of the issues it has struggled with. Some ideas to consider are music genre creation, marketing, cross-promotion, copyright/licensing laws, and racial segregation.
5- Centers and Peripheries – This topic refers to the relationship between “mainstream” culture and its tendency to absorb cultural practices and styles that originate in minority communities. What are the primary centers of music production and why? Why do musical styles shift from the peripheries of society to the center or “mainstream” and what happens to the music when they do?
Your paper should be 7 pages (double-spaced, standard tabs) and include clearly organized paragraphs of content that move the reader chronologically through the decades with regards to your chosen thematic topic. You should only need to refer to the content from this course, but if you use any outside sources, please cite those sources at the end of your paper. -
