    KEYWORDS WITH MEANING:
    1. Crop: Plants of the same kind are cultivated in one place on a large scale is called crops.
    2. Animal Husbandry: It is a branch of agriculture dealing with the domestication, breeding, and rearing of
    animals for various purposes.
    3. Granaries: A granary is a storehouse or room in a barn for threshed grain
    4. Harvesting: Harvesting is the process of cutting the mature drop manually or by machines.
    5. Irrigation: The supply of water to crops at appropriate intervals is called irrigation.
    6. Threshing: The separation of the grains from the stalk is called threshing.
    7. Weedicide: Weedicides are chemicals that are sprayed over fields to get rid of weeds.
    8. Winnowing: It is a method in which heavier component of the mixture is separated from lighter components
    with the help of wind.
Q-ANSWERS TO BE DONE IN THE CLASS WORK:
Q 5 Explain how fertilizers are different from manure.
Answer: (i) A fertilizer is an inorganic salt.
    (i) Manure is a natural substance obtained by the decomposition of cattle dung, human waste and plant residues.
(ii) A fertiliser is prepared in factories.
(ii) Manure can be prepared in the fields.
(iii) A fertiliser does not provide any humus to the soil.
(iii) Manure provides a lot of humus to the soil.
(iv)Fertilisers are very rich in plant nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium.
(iv) Manure is relatively less rich in plant nutrients.
Q 6 What is irrigation? Describe two methods of irrigation which conserve water.
Answer: The artificial method of watering the plants for assisting in their growth is called irrigation. Main sources
of irrigation are wells, tube-wells, ponds, lakes, rivers.
Two methods which help us to conserve water are:
    (i) Sprinkler irrigation system: This irrigation system has an arrangement of vertical pipes with rotating nozzles on
the top. It is more useful in uneven and sandy land where sufficient water is not available.
(ii) Drip irrigation system: This irrigation system has an arrangement of pipes or tubes with very small holes in them
to water plants drop by drop just at the base of the root. It is very efficient as water is not wasted at all.
Q 7 If wheat is sown in the kharif season, what would happen? Discuss.
Answer: Wheat crop is sown from November/December to March/April. It is grown in winter and requires less
water. If wheat is sown in Kharif season, its production will decrease considerably.
Q 8 Explain how soil gets affected by the continuous plantation of crops in a field.
Answer: Continuous plantation of crops makes the soil poorer in certain nutrients as the crops take up nutrients
from the soil. The soil becomes infertile. It does not get enough time to replenish the nutrients.
Q 9 What are the weeds? How can we control them?
Answer: The undesirable and unwanted plants that grow naturally along with the crop are called weeds. The
growth of weeds can be controlled by adopting many ways. Tilling before sowing of crops helps in the uprooting
and killing of weeds, which may then dry up and get mixed with the soil. Weeds are also controlled by using certain
chemicals, called weedicides. Weedicides are sprayed in the fields to kill the weeds.
    Addition questions:
    1. What do you mean by the term agricultural practice?
Answer: Agricultural practices are those practices that involve the necessary steps to be taken during the
    production of crops.
    2. Explain the term leveling. What are the advantages of levelling?
Answer: Levelling is the process of breaking down the larger lumps of soil, and then levelling them by using a
    leveller.
The following are the advantages of levelling:
Levelling helps to prevent soil erosion caused by wind or air.
It helps in sowing the seeds uniformly and thus helps the plants to grow uniformly too.
It helps in proper irrigation by allowing the water to get distributed uniformly throughout the soil.
    3.Explain the term transplantation.
Answer: Some of the crops are first grown in the nurseries and then transferred to the main field. This process is
    known as transplantation.
4.What are the advantages of manure?
Answer: Following are some advantages of manure:
It enhances the water-holding capacity of soil.
    It improves soil quality.
It promotes the growth of soil-friendly microbes.
It is renewable, biodegradable, and eco-friendly.
    5. What are weedicides? Give some examples.
Answer: Weedicides are the chemicals that are used to remove weeds. Some commonly used weedicides are 2, 4-
    D and metachlor.

I am sending you the necessary files. The “final thesis” file is my work, but the results part needs to be rewritten. The “future steps” file includes the teachers’ comments on the file and the results and discussion section has been deleted.
The purpose is the search for consumer behavior in different locations, times and social environment. I also have a file that is the teachers’ feedback on what needs to be done (the future steps and overview of improvements files).
Information about consumer habits in percentages, for example, must be added, but also limitations, future recommendations of this research.
I am attaching the original data set as well as the code I have written so far. I am not allowed to change anything in the data set, as it is not mine, I have undertaken the analysis only.

This assignment will be submitted to Turnitin™.
    Instructions
Item 2 of the Portfolio: Annotated Bibliography (due in week 4)
This week, you will submit an annotated bibliography for two (2) of your sources for the final project paper. Both sources should be scholarly (peer-reviewed) and from the APUS Library. Read the instructions for upcoming assignments so you will have a good idea of sources you might need.
Each source (listed in alphabetical order) should have a complete Works Cited or References entry for the citation style you are using, as well as an annotation, which should be a paragraph or two summarizing and evaluating the article.  Information about the author’s credentials and publisher’s credibility may be included. Value of the sources to the final project paper should be part of the annotation. (Summaries/evaluations under one hundred words each will be considered under-developed.)
Write in third person only. It’s a good idea to include a signal phrase, direct quote or paraphrase, and a parenthetical citation within each summary.
To format your Works Cited or References entries, you may use the library cite button discussed in the week four Lessons. Include the article’s web link (the https address—not just the doi) at the end of your Works Cited entry. Just copy and paste it from your web browser, if it is not already included. Examples are shown in the attached Template (which you will download) and Sample (which is attached to show you an example of what a good submission looks like).
Submit your assignment as a Word document attached to the assignment link so it can be automatically processed through Turnitin. Use the template provided. You can save the template with a title like this: Your Name_Annotated Bib.

  • The Pros and Cons of Automation in Agriculture: Embracing Technological Change for a Sustainable Future

*IMPORTANT* My Thesis for the paper, please write accordingly: Automation in agriculture has many pros as well as cons, however due to the rapid nature of technological changes we are undergoing, it is best to embrace this change as the benefits seem to outweigh the cons, even if ever so slightly. (You may change the thesis verbiage slightly if you see fit)
-You will be writing for a general, educated audience who is unfamiliar with your topic.
    Format:
Include your name and course number (11:020:210) and date on your first page and make sure you include a title.  An abstract is not required for your final paper but may be included if you wish to place a summary at the beginning.
Please use 10 or 12 point font, double spaced lines, with no more than 1 inch margins, and include page numbers.
    Sources:
may come in many forms including peer-reviewed articles, textbooks, websites, interviews, podcasts, newspaper or magazine articles, and documentaries.   Figures, illustration and tables from these sources may be included in your paper as long as you cite them in the legend and bibliography.
Your final research paper will be strong if it contains:
an introduction that provides enough background on the topic to get your reader started and a reason to read the paper.
    clear and compelling thesis
    adequate background material
evidence derived from sources to support your thesis (don’t forget to introduce your source if it adds credibility)
discussion and analysis of the evidence
    consideration of a counter-argument
    conclusion
    Other important information:
This paper will be checked for plagiarism so be sure to use in-text citations and include a bibliography.  This includes citing images, figure and tables.  Plagiarism can be avoided by using correct citations for summaries, paraphrases and direct quotes. Using ChatGPT or other AI software to write your essay is prohibited.
    – please include works cited page, not part of final page count.
    – Please include this in a message to me as it is another question for the assignment – In the textbox, write what you think is going well in this paper, what you think is your thesis, what you have struggled with, if anything, and what feedback you would find most helpful.
    – Also please include a turnitin plagiarism and AI use report for my use!
    Thanks a lot!

  • Title: Reflection on Readings and Personal Reactions

Your journal entries should be a MINIMUM of 1 FULL page TOTAL (Times New Roman 12pt font, double spaced 1 inch margins maximum!) in which you discuss your reactions to the readings.
Relate it to lecture notes, potentially linking the information to current events, as well as your own personal questions/feelings on the subject matter.
Your journal DOES NOT have to be in APA format – this is an informal writing assignment where you discuss your reaction(s) to the readings.
Think of it as a reflection – NOT a summary of the chapters
What reactions did you have to the readings?
What points stood out to you?
What information read/presented made you stop and think?
    Why?
