The essay is an argumentative style essay. The research question must remain the same, but the prompt can be altered to fit better, although it should still be similair to the research question. I attached an outline that I made, please use it as a reference for general ideas, and not as a strict guideline. It also includs an annotated bibliography, I would prefer for at least half the sources in it to be used for the actual essay, but even just 1-2 is fine.
Here is my research question: What effect does being raised in harsh environments have on people’s mental health later in their life?
And the prompt: Childhood experiences in harsh environments can profoundly shape mental health trajectories into adulthood.

  • Title: “The Power of Storytelling in Business Communication: A Tale of Success and Inspiration”

Narrative techniques can be an effective way to organize messages in many business communication situations, from recruiting and training employees to enticing investors and customers.
You’ve been telling stories all your life; now it’s just a matter of adapting those techniques to business situations.
    Examples:
    Television commercials and other advertisements
Career-related stories to entice talented people to join a firm
Stories to help investors see how an entrepreneur’s new ideas have the potential to affect people’s lives (and therefore generate lots of sales)
    Cautionary tales
    Stories can
Help readers and listeners imagine themselves living through the experience of the person in the story
“Put knowledge into a framework that is more lifelike, more true to our day-to-day existence” (Chip Heath and Dan Heath)
Demonstrate cause-and-effect relationships in a compelling fashion
A classic story has three basic parts:
The beginning of the story presents someone with whom the audience can identify in some way, and this person has a dream to pursue or a problem to solve.
The middle of the story shows this character taking action and making decisions as he or she pursues the goal or tries to solve the problem.
The end of the story resolves the “hero’s” quest and usually offers a lesson to be learned about the outcome as well.
By the way, even though these are “stories,” these must not be made-up tales.
Consider adding an element of storytelling whenever your main idea involves the opportunity to
    Inspire
    Persuade
    Teach
    Warn
In addition to its important communication function, storytelling can also serve as a means of strategic business analysis.
Your assignment is to tell a story to us the readers following the outline is given above. You have two options you can record it via with your phone or computer to actually tell the story to us via video or you can write out the story as if you do not have a video option to use you can write the story out. Since this is a story I will not require this assignment to be in APA format but I do expect good well written academic writing. Make sure to spell check your documents and review for errors. I am not giving a specific length of time for the video or a length for the written story but please make sure this is a good well thought out story that integrates into the format for storytelling. Part 1: Due by WEDNESDAY, no later than 11:59 PM
For the discussion board this week, please share at least TWO situations where you have had miscommunication occur in your life.  Please identify at least one (or more) factors that could have contributed/caused the miscommunication.  (Culture, age etc)  Click reply when you are ready to respond.  After that, you will be able to see other student responses.
Example post: (You would need two examples here) When I was younger, I started to play baseball.  I was really young and had an intense coach who yelled at the team that when an umpire calls you out, you have to get off the field.  I ran to my dad concerned and said “I don’t think I can play with vampires, this is too scary.” In my young mind, I heard vampire, not umpire and was terrified.  Obviously my age was a factor here in the miscommunication.  True story by the way! 🙂
