  • “The Existential Dilemma: Analyzing Jean-Paul Sartre’s No Exit and Its Relevance in Modern Literature”

You must construct an argumentative (thesis-driven) essay that is around five double-spaced
pages in length and based upon your critical analysis of Jean-Paul Sartre’s No Exit and another
literary work, which must be selected from TCC South’s Script Journal. Please choose a story,
poem, or work of creative non-fiction from any past or present issue of Script and analyze it
within the context of No Exit. Essentially, your thesis will need to establish two points: your
unique identification of a specific theme or philosophy of No Exit and an explanation of how
your selected literary work agrees or disagrees with Sartre’s ideas.
For this assignment, research is a requirement, and you should include at least three scholarly
sources. Don’t forget to properly cite these both parenthetically (in-text) and in a works cited
page. Your essay must follow all the latest MLA formatting, style, and citation guidelines.
Please submit to Canvas your final essay by the end of the day on Wednesday, 6/26/24.

  • Title: “Cyber Security: A Literature Review”

I have an IT Capstone Class and I need a literature review. This one of many assignments I have, leading up to the final draft.   I will attach the guidelines below for the literature review. I will also add the guidelines for the whole project and my outline for the paper by uploading the documents. When you look at the guidelines for the project, my emphasis is Cyber Security and I am doing a research paper.

What are the significant issues related to the topic? Make sure that the literature you select identifies and covers those topics. Provide a broad picture of the literature, including an analysis of any studies encompassing the scope of the applied research project. The UC Library and Google Scholar are great sources for peer-reviewed articles. (3-5 pages, 5-10 identified articles)

  • “Comparing Utopian Visions and Realities: The Portrayal of Society and Education in Looking Backward and Learning and Earning”

Two page paper comparing and contrasting the paragraph begining with “In the 1888 novel” found on page 515 with the two paragraphs directly below “Learning and Earning” on page 899 from the textbook.
“In the 1888 novel Looking Backward, 2000-1887, Edward Bellamy portrays a utopian America in the year 2000, with the country living in peace and harmony after abandoning the capitalist model and moving to a socialist state. In the book, Bellamy predicts the future advent of credit cards, cable entertainment, and “super-store” cooperatives that resemble a modern day Wal-Mart. Looking Backward proved to be a popular bestseller (third only to Uncle Tom’s Cabin and Ben Hur among late nineteenth-century publications) and appealed to those who felt the industrial age of big business was sending the country in the wrong direction. Eugene Debs, who led the national Pullman Railroad Strike in 1894, later commented on how Bellamy’s work influenced him to adopt socialism as the answer to the exploitative industrial capitalist model. In addition, Bellamy’s work spurred the publication of no fewer than thirty-six additional books or articles by other writers, either supporting Bellamy’s outlook or directly criticizing it. In 1897, Bellamy felt compelled to publish a sequel, entitled Equality, in which he further explained ideas he had previously introduced concerning educational reform and women’s equality, as well as a world of vegetarians who speak a universal language”
    Learning and Earning
The quality of American education remains a challenge. The global economy is dominated by those nations with the greatest number of “knowledge workers:” people with specialized knowledge and skills like engineers, scientists, doctors, teachers, financial analysts, and computer programmers. Furthermore, American students’ reading, math, and critical thinking skills are less developed than those of their peers in other industrialized nations, including small countries like Estonia.
The Obama administration sought to make higher education more accessible by increasing the amount that students could receive under the federally funded Pell Grant Program, which, by the 2012–13 academic year, helped 9.5 million students pay for their college education. Obama also worked out a compromise with Congress in 2013, which lowered the interest rates charged on student loans. However, college tuition is still growing at a rate of 2 to 3 percent per year, and the debt burden has surpassed the $1 trillion mark and is likely to increase. With debt upon graduation averaging about $29,000, students may find their economic options limited. Instead of buying cars or paying for housing, they may have to join the boomerang generation and return to their parents’ homes in order to make their loan payments. Clearly, high levels of debt will affect their career choices and life decisions for the foreseeable future.
Many other Americans continue to be challenged by the state of the economy. Most economists calculate that the Great Recession reached its lowest point in 2009, and the economy has gradually improved since then. The stock market ended 2013 at historic highs, having experienced its biggest percentage gain since 1997. However, despite these gains, the nation struggled to maintain a modest annual growth rate of 2.5 percent after the Great Recession, and the percentage of the population living in poverty continues to hover around 15 percent. Income has decreased (Figure 32.17), and, as late as 2011, the unemployment rate was still high in some areas. Eight million full-time workers have been forced into part-time work, whereas 26 million seem to have given up and left the job market.

  • Exploring Saturn: Insights from Dr. Linda Spilker’s Lecture at the Cosmic Exploration Speaker Series Dr. Linda Spilker, a renowned planetary scientist, recently gave a lecture at the Lunar and Planetary Institute’s Cosmic Exploration Speaker Series

The Lunar and Planetary Institute (LPI) regularly holds Cosmic Exploration Speaker Series lectures. Dr. Linda Spilker, who was part of the Voyager spacecraft team that first visited the outer planets, talked about the Saturn system that we most recently visited with the Cassini spacecraft. She is one of the top planetary scientists studying outer planets and has been studying them since we have had spacecraft data to do so, which makes her one of the most knowledgeable people in the world on this topic.

  • Final Primary Source Comparison: Exploring Nature and Human Nature in Three Historical Sources

    Final Primary Source Comparison Rubric
For your final assignment, you will complete a 3-5 page comparison of the primary sources you have been reading over the course. You will address either nature or human nature as it appears in one primary sources from each unit. Then you will compare and contrast your theme in each of the 3 primary sources you have chosen.
Your grade will be out of 50 points and will be based on how well you use your primary sources to explore your theme. You can view the grading rubric I will use below. Your paper should be in 12 point, Times New Roman font and your name should be on the first page. Your header does not count towards the page count.
You may not use outside sources for this assignment and should use parenthetical citations for the primary sources, textbook or lecture material. You should identify your sources at the end of the paragraph. For example, a textbook citation for page 523 from the textbook would look like (Traditions & Encounters, 523)”, the Diego Rivera Mural would be “(Diego Rivera Mural)”, the lecture from June 3rd would be “(Lecture, June 3)”, the Nelson Mandela speech would be “(Nelson Mandela)” and so forth.
Please note: the standard “5 paragraph essay” thesis in which you simply state that you “will discuss” these primary sources will result in a poor score. Instead, you should make a statement about how different cultures (or different times) viewed or experienced your theme. Also, as this is the final assignment for a history class, you should focus on history and refrain from discussing current events.
If you are struggling to think about a theme or how your theme looks in different in the sources, start by considering the way the sources discuss your theme (are they excited about your theme? has something bad just happened in relation to your theme? Are these sources really reflecting an emotion like fear, excitement, sadness or joy? Do your sources discuss the theme in the same way or do they disagree with each other?). The second and final questions on the primary source worksheets that you have been completing for class should help you complete this assignment so returning to those assignments (and your feedback) would be a good place to start.
Please feel free to attend office hours (or make an appointment if you would like to talk outside of office hours) to discuss your paper if you are struggling or have questions on the assignment.
