Title: “Optimizing Project Scheduling for a Growing Data Centre Portfolio: A Best Practice Approach” Assumptions and Constraints: 1. The company has a dedicated team for each project, including design, procurement, and construction.
You have been hired by a data centre developer to lead a small scheduling team. The company you work for has constructed 4 DCs over the last 4 years, but has now committed to deliver 20 DCs over the next 4 years.
The design, procurement, and construction teams will be challenged to meet the ramp up in workload and this presents a cultural shift for the organisation as it expands. On time delivery is key and delays have the potential to impact your organisation’s customers.
Your objective is to provide best practice planning & scheduling across the portfolio of projects. how you would approach this scenario. Include any assumptions or constraints your approach is based on. Please consider:
· What steps would you take?
· What would you implement at project level? How would you implement it?
· What would you implement at portfolio level? How would you implement it?
· Is there anything you’d like to emphasise in your approach as a point of difference?
· Are there any new technologies that can be included in your approach? -
