  • “Analyzing the Financial Health and Investment Potential of Company XYZ: A Comprehensive Analysis of a Publicly Traded Company on the NYSE/NASDAQ”

FIN 325: Finance for Managers Writing Assignment Guidelines
Select a publicly traded company that trades on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) or on the NASDAQ to analyze. Please note that it is usually easier to find more recent information on larger or well- known companies. The analysis in your essay should answer the following questions:
    • Why did you choose to analyze this company?
    • What were the opinions of some of your referenced articles on this stock as an investment? Please note that it is best if there is at least some disagreement on this question.
    • Is an investment in the stock a higher or lower risk investment than an investment in other stocks as a whole? Why or why not?
    • How large is the company in relation to its competitors? • How fast is the company growing? • How profitable is the company?
    • What is the company’s price-to-earnings ratio? What does this tell you about the company?
    • Does it have a dividend? If so, what is the dividend yield? • Does the future of the company appear to be promising?
    • On which exchange does the company trade and what is its ticker symbol? • Key Point: Do you recommend or not recommend this company’s stock as an investment for investors that are considering stock investments? Why?
The Writing Assignment is to be 750 – 1,250 words in length (this range includes everything in the assignment including your name, title, and citations). Turnitin.com software will be used to ensure that submitted assignments are original works.
The writing assignment should be in an essay format. Additionally, you are required to support your position by using at least one recent reference from an academic journal or prominent business publication (e.g., The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, Fortune, Investor’s Business Daily, etc.). A recent reference is one that has a publication date that is less than one year old as of the beginning of the semester. Importantly, references from websites do not qualify unless those websites are part of a reputable print publication. For example, Investopedia.com can be used, but it does not count as a reference that satisfies the criteria of a recent reference.
The ProQuest database at the Saint Leo University Library website can be a useful tool for completing this assignment.
Submit the Writing Assignment to the assignment folder no later than Sunday 11:59 EST/EDT of Module 7.

  • Title: Summary and Critical Evaluation of “The Effects of Mindfulness Training on Stress and Anxiety in College Students: A Randomized Controlled Study”

summary should provide a through examination of the purpose of the study, research question(s), methodology, results, and conclusion. You should also provide a brief critical evaluation of the paper. Please refer to the resources below for a worksheet (this gives you guidelines as to what to discuss), tips for reading journal articles, and an example.
The reference must be formatted in full APA style. The summaries should be IN YOUR OWN WORDS.
Absolutely no quotes should be used. Remember, this is a summary; you should not be providing a lot of detail but rather synthesizing what the authors did.
A special note: Reading journal articles is hard. They are designed for an audience that knows something about the topic or methods. As new psychology students, you don’t have that knowledge (that is why you are in school!). So be sure to allow plenty of time to read and understand each paper. Only when you understand the paper will you be able to summarize the paper. Don’t get discouraged; every psychologist started precisely where you are now. The only way to get better at reading empirical journal articles is to practice.
A quality summary will be well formatted, comprehensive, free of spelling/grammar errors, and
accurate. Your summary should be no longer than 2 pages.
    Logistics:
Typed, double-spaced, with one-inch margins on the top, sides, and bottom. Left justify (line up on the left side), and do not justify on the right side.
Use Times or Times New Roman font, set at 12
Use correct APA citations within the body
The paper should be no longer than 2 pages in length. Use proper formatting.
Save as a .doc or .docx and submit to Canvas [do not submit a google doc or any other type of document)

  • Title: The Battle of Science vs. Faith: An Analysis of Hitchens and Craig’s Use of the Scientific Method and Good-Faith Argumentation in their Debate

Write an 6-page interpretive essay that demonstrates, using evidence from the debate itself, that either Hitchens or Craig–who both evoke science in their arguments–is the debater with the greatest allegiance to the scientific method, as we will come to define this in class, and to good-faith argumentation in the Socratic sense. You may not choose a middle ground and say that both sides are equally Sophistic and Socratic. It is up to you to choose how you make your determination, but your terms of analysis, your yardstick by which you make your decision, should be usefully clear in the first part of your thesis section.
You must have a paragraph that offers a road map—”In this essay I will. . .” in which you name your yardstick methodology and specifically name the aspects of bad-faith argumentation that you will be exploring. And then say that you will, in your conclusion, be addressing the likely negative consequences for engaging in this kind of bad-faith argumentation.
For a conclusion: make a forward-thinking case about the negative consequences in a pluralistic society for making bad-faith arguments in favor of science AND for faith. In other words, no matter who you think is making the better, good-faith case in this debate, use the conclusion to contemplate the negative consequences for those who debate in bad faith. For example: if you think Hitchens is the best “good-faith” debater, what would a “bad faith” argument in favor of science look like and what might the likely consequences of that be? Conversely, if you think Craig, a man of evident faith, is making a bad-faith argument, what would a better, good-faith argument look like? What are the negative consequences for Christianity when a Christian apologist ignores this?
