See these major concerns:
Does not accurately represent Gordon’s theory of assimilation.
More precise information needed on “capitals” which set a path for assimilation.
There is almost nothing on “stages of assimilation”. This is the centerpiece of the project.
More to say about ethnic persistence.
You misunderstand “new ethnicity”.
Need evidence to establish this family’s “typicality”.
More substance needed here as well, eg. the extent of discrimination in housing.
Further, your statements can be vague and even confusing. See this comment: “In evaluation, the children, specifically Leila and Mehdi, pick out greater strongly as American, with their Iranian roots gambling a secondary position of their self-notion.”

“Risk Management in Project Deliverables and Activities: Identifying and Mitigating Potential Risks”
IMPORTANT: Please follow the intructions and do NOT use ANY plagiarism, please upload a
plagiarism report with the files.
Write around 200 words for part 1 and 200 words for part 2, thank you.
Please use the textbook if needed: https://read.amazon.com/sample/B00TRF2OGW?f=1&r=b1b82c5c&sid=147-8543008-5339441&rid=&cid=A1HIGG3UZTV8GO&clientId=kfw&l=en_US&asin=B00TRF2OGW&revisionId=b1b82c5c&format=1&depth=1
PART 1: Defining Deliverables and Activity
Answer/comment on the following:
Discussion #1: How can the way that you define the “deliverables” due in a contract, aid you in reducing risk? Describe a situation where a poor definition of the deliverable caused you problems.
Discussion #2: Why can defining and estimating “activity” be so difficult? Describe a situation where a poor estimate of activity caused you problems.
PART 2: Scope and Schedule Risk
Submit a 200-300 word paper addressing the following:
Document the potential scope and schedule risks associated with the Class Project case study scenario. I recommend a table (Hint: MS Word™ table should work nicely) that has columns for category, risk description, and rationale. A template is provided here for you to use: Moku Liko Risk Identification Template (See template added as a file) Please put your name at the top of the table at the location shown. Note that the Risk # that you assign to each risk will carry on throughout the Class Project assignments.
With regards to the “”Rationale” column in the Risk Identification table, I am looking for a brief description of why you consider the item to be a risk to the project, e.g. what is the possible impact that the item could have on the project, how might it effect other tasks on the project, might the item lead to the need for possible changes to the project in the future. Let’s say that you identified a Schedule risk of “Adequate, properly trained local labor may not be available at project start (Learning curve for local labor force exceeds estimates).” The Rationale might be something like:
Unknown level of current skills and capabilities of local labor.
Specific specialized skills are required for system installation and test.
A training protocol has not yet been defined at the program level.
Inability of local labor to perform technical tasks may require changes to project staffing.
Note that you are not yet being asked to “quantify” these risks in terms of likelihood or impact (that comes in Week 4)…simply identify and describe them.
See added template and picture expample from professor!
PART 3: Submit chosen topic for instructor approval
This week, you will need to submit your proposed Final Research Paper topic for approval. I encourage you to select a risk management topic that is meaningful and supportive of your own endeavors, either personally or professionally. The following example topics are provided to help get your ideas flowing:
1) The Role of Decision-making in Risk Management
2) Bias in Risk Management: The Optimist or the Pessimist
3) Mobile Device Impact on Risk Management
4) Developing a “Risk-Aware” Culture
For the purpose of submitting your topic this week, all that is needed is 1-2 sentences describing the focus of your intended research. The actual research paper should include a description of the topic, its value in helping to successfully execute projects, an examination of how different project roles may apply to the topic, and an analysis of how the technique or approach can be applied to projects in the student’s professional or personal life. Please submit your topic, including a brief description -
“Reimagining Modernity: Challenging Western Narratives in Architecture and Urbanism”
Research Project: Modern Times
The research project “Modern Times” seeks to challenge the prevailing narrative of modern architecture, predominantly centered on Western perspectives promoted by entities such as CIAM, the Ford Foundation, and MOMA, among others. Through the examination of various architectural and urban projects, the research aims to critically reevaluate modern architecture in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia regions, often marginalized or overlooked in mainstream discourse. This project offers an opportunity to explore diverse manifestations of modernity and propose alternative frameworks of architectural knowledge that go beyond the traditional paradigms of the Modern movement’s language and formal structures.
Each student will investigate a case study, addressing several key questions: How does the project align with the country’s modernization efforts? What defines the project as modern? What architectural elements characterize the selected piece, and how do they reflect the local culture? The final presentation will consist of three A2 boards:
Opening Page and Introduction:
This board will serve as the introduction to the case study.
It will feature an opening page with the title of the project (“Modern Times”) and the name of the case study.
The introduction will briefly address some key questions, setting the stage for the in-depth exploration.
Images and Text:
This board will primarily focus on visual representation through images and accompanying text.
It will showcase photographs, renderings, or other visual materials related to the case study.
The text will further delve into the case study, addressing specific questions and providing context or analysis as needed.
Two and Three-Dimensional Analytical Drawings:
This board will present analytical drawings of the case study, both two-dimensional and three-dimensional.
These drawings may include floor plans, elevations, sections, diagrams, or models that provide a deeper understanding of the project’s architectural elements and spatial organization.
The analytical drawings will offer insights into the case study’s design principles, functionality, and cultural significance. -

Title: Exploring the Universal Archetypes and Cultural Variations in Heroic Stories: A Comparative Analysis of Three Case Studies from Different Cultures
STATE YOUR THESIS OR KEY QUESTION * APPLY RELEVANT THEORIES/METHODS * EXAMINE/COMPARE CASE STUDIES * REVEAL SIMILARITIES/DIFFERENCES OR PATTERNS/VARIATIONS * SHARE (insightful) CONCLUSIONS
Technical requirements:
* 12 double-spaced pages, Time 12 font, Word file, 1-page Notes/References + 1 page Bibliography (must contain articles and books; and only 2-3 academic website, if necessary. A paper without a relevant Bibliography or websites only cannot be accepted). The key ideas and your conclusions must be highlighted in boldface.
The project proposal is structured around three main thematic areas
Universal Archetypes and Themes: The first aspect of the research involves a detailed study of the archetypes and the themes which are found in the hero’s journeys across different cultural settings. With reference to Joseph Campbell’s monomyth, the study intends to explore and identify common themes, including the call to adventure, the crossings of thresholds, trials and challenges, and eventually, the hero’s transformation. Through studying the archetypal elements of folktales from various cultural settings, the study seeks to identify those base human experiences and values that are common to all.
Types of Heroic Stories: The second thematic area focuses on identifying various kinds of heroic stories from folklore such as epics, legends, and myths. Every type of story depicts a specific cultural vision and the society’s attitude towards heroism and human existence, unveiling how people perceive these concepts. By using comparative analysis of these stories, this research aims to uncover the different ways in which heroes are shown, praised, and respected within different cultural backgrounds.
Cultural Significance of Mythological Creatures: The study’s third part focuses on cultural significance of mythological creatures which acted as central characters in the folktales. Generally, such creatures concretize the cultural anxieties, beliefs, and expectations as well as being the very symbols that are admired by people old and young alike. Through the examination of how different cultural contexts present and interpret mythical creatures, the research intends to discover the hidden cultural patterns and values which are the basis of these narratives
Content requirements:
(1) You must deliver a comparative paper on the topic approved by the Instructor, and based on your earlier submitted proposal.
(2) Choose three most relevant case studies (myth or folklore related stories, media including); each should be from three cultures/traditions.
Suggestion: select one familiar to you or from your heritage, another from the culture you want to know more about; and the third from the English-speaking narrative world as the most transcultural and widespread storytelling media these days. This way you can cover the dear/familiar, the intriguing/unfamiliar and the language of the global (media) communication.
(3) Make sure you have the clear Conclusions, which stem from your comparative analysis.
NB! Requirements — mandatory: three sections or layers
* 1/3 of the course paper must be based on the application of the theories and ideas of this course: choose the most relevant, interesting to you, or methodologically useful for you analysis.
* 1/3 of the paper must bring in theories and ideas from any other reliable academic sources, which you must also effectively employ in your analysis. (Recommended: the sources I prioritize; or any other you discover on your own. Note: great books cannot be “dated” — the earlier studies may be more profound than the recent ones).
* The final 1/3 must be your own findings and conclusions — your input as a researcher, potentially your published article or Master’s thesis). See below the “best practices” to enhance your own contribution. -

“A Day in the Life of a 16th Century Englishman: Exploring the World of Shakespeare through Personal Journals”
Shakespearean Research Project
The Task
You will research information about daily life in England during William Shakespeare’s time. Supported by your research, you will create a 16th century character and write 3 personal journal entries about that character’s life and times. You will describe what that character sees, hears, feels and thinks. The journals must contain significant topical information.
Each journal entry must:
Be at least 2 pages in length (total of 6 pages for the 3 entries);
Include at least 4 facts (total of 12 for the 3 entries) with in-text notes following proper bibliographic and internal citation format, which we will discuss in class;
Include 1 Shakespearean insult (total of 3 for the 3 entries).
Include a Works Cited page listing at least 2 sources (total of 6 for the 3 entries), one of which must be a non-Internet source.
Step 1 – Decide whether your character is a man or a woman, an adult or a child, a commoner or a nobleperson. Give yourself a period-appropriate name. Then create other personal details about yourself, like your occupation and appearance, based on your research of the Elizabethan/Shakespearean era. Remember the “facts” you create should be as authentic as possible.
Step 2 – Write your journals. Each journal page should reflect the personality of your character. You should have opinions as well as facts in the entries. For example, women may very well have resented being excluded from the theater. Perhaps the woman you have “become” for this project will complain bitterly about this in her journal. Either include your fictitious name in the journal or sign it at the end. Your journal should be a personal interpretation of historical facts.
Journal 1: Attending a Performance of Macbeth at the Globe Theater. For example, if you are a commoner, then you would view the play as a groundling. Write about such topics as:
Groundlings
Admission
Who you see at the theater and where they sit according to rank
What you think about the characters and plot of the play
Stage conventions – fights, explosions, blood, etc.
Props and scenery
Parts of the Globe Theater (platform, tiring house, pit, etc.)
Activities in the yard
Raising the flags to indicate History, Tragedy or Comedy
Refreshments
Women in the theater
Journal 2: Every Day Life. What is your character’s life like? What is his/her job, family like, etc.? For example, you may write about:
Amusements
Clothing
Education
Profession
Family Life
Food
Hairstyles
Housing
Medicine
Occupations
Punishments
Transportation
Journal 3: Special Occasion. What special event takes place in the life of your character? For example, you may write about a:
Coronation
Festival (May Day, County Fair, etc.)
Funeral
Religious Ceremony (Christmas, 12th Night, Easter, etc.)
Tournament (Joust, Archery Contest, Falconry, Equestrian Event)
Wedding -
Title: “Exploring the Subculture of Paris Is Burning: A Reflection on Personalities and Perspectives”
Our feature this week is Paris Is Burning, an extraordinary documentary about the drag ball and voguing subculture of the late 1980’s (right before Madonna’s 1990 hit single Vogue created a certain degree of mainstream exposure for this scene).
Director Jennie Livingston shot the film as her NYU film school thesis project, choosing a style that is way more impressionistic, immersive and personal than we find in many traditional documentary films. (For instance, there is no omniscient voiceover narration, and the subjects get to tell their own story very directly.)
Even though Paris Is Burning was not conceived or meant as a historical documentary, it captures a moment in New York City history that is now long bygone – the time before Mayor Giuliani ‘cleaned up’ the city, when gay culture was less assimilated, existed more on the fringes of society and was beset by the spectral cloud of AIDS, especially for the disenfranchised gay people of color whose lives the film documents. Your homework is to answer these questions about the film, which you can view via this link:
1. Which one of the various prominently featured individuals in the film did you personally find the most interesting (or relatable) in terms of the experience they talked about or the perspective they offered, and why? (AT LEAST 150 WORDS)
2. This is the link to Madonna’s famous live performance of Vogue at the 1990 MTV Music Awards: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTaXtWWR16A. What are the notable similarities and/or differences between the way in which she and Livingston – both white women – represent the Black and Latino performers in vogue and drag ball culture?
