“The Invisible Wounds of War: A Revised Scene in ‘In the Land of the Free’”
You will rewrite part of a short story that we have read over the semester. This revision can alter a scene completely and/or can be a new addition to the existing narrative. This will be a two-part project that will involve the revision (part one) and an explication of the revision and the choices you made as the author (part two). The revised or additional scene(s) in the chosen novel should be substantial and read like a completely new part of the work (~3-4 pages), and the explication should clarify how/why you approached the revision in the way you did (~1-2 pages). Your choices to revise the original work should go beyond personal preference — your explanation should give readers a chance to understand how the revision connects with a broader history of Asian American literary and cultural representation and authorship. There is no need for a header or sources or any formatting. Just make sure you reach 5 whole pages double spaced. Choose one of the following three options and rewrite that option:

Designing Incentive Pay Plans: Individual vs. Team Rewards and Ethical Considerations “Exploring the Past and Future: A Journey with Previous and Next”
This case study allows students to summarize considerations when designing incentive pay programs by applying analytical thinking and application of knowledge. It also allows students to explain the practice of individual incentive pay plans by applying ethical understanding and reasoning.
Read the assigned case analysis and answer the questions that follow.
Research in the university’s electronic library to find your references from journals, books, websites, and so forth, and use them in your case study analysis.
Which Should We Recommend: Individual or Team Reward?
Companies often consider incentive pay plans to reward employees for their performance. A well-designed incentive pay plan can help a company achieve objectives through improved productivity, quality, and customer service. In order to accomplish this, the incentive pay plan must be appropriate for the particular objective. At Metropolitan Furniture, there is a need for high individual productivity and also a level of teamwork that allows the company to meet delivery dates for furniture sets that involve the effort of multiple workers. These differing needs create a challenge for management to determine the right approach in designing an incentive pay plan. Be sure to read Chapter 4 to prepare yourself for answering the case study questions.
What are some advantages of offering an individual piece-rate pay plan to the furniture builders at Metropolitan Furniture?
What are some advantages of offering a team-based incentive pay plan?
Ethics Dilemma: Incentive Pay Gone Wrong
Often, incentive pay plans can encourage undesirable workplace behaviors. The U.S. Veteran Administration instituted an incentive plan for managers to improve the efficiency of hospital operations. To reduce time in the waiting room, they started limiting the daily number of appointments. This action resulted in increased wait times to get an appointment, which led to patients waiting up to 20 weeks for an appointment and resulted in dozens dying from their illnesses while waiting for an appointment. In this case, managers either did not know how to reduce waiting room times or believed that limiting daily appointments was the easiest strategy. The incentive plan likely did not have enough specific requirements related to maintaining quality of care. Be sure to read Chapter 4 to prepare yourself for answering the case study questions.
As a compensation professional, what would you do?
What factors in this ethical dilemma might influence a person to make a less-than-ethical decision?

Title: Creating a High-Level Teaching Plan for a Diverse Learning Environment: Applying Educational Theory and Addressing Diversity in Nursing Education
Create a 5-7-page high-level teaching plan for a diverse learning environment that is designed around an appropriate educational theory
When beginning to design a course, nurse educators need to identify the learning theory or theories that will form the foundation of a course’s design, and to consider the needs of the population of learners who will take the course
Note: Assessments in this course build on each other and must be completed in sequential order.
It is important to consider the role of diversity and learning environments when selecting appropriate theories and approaches for a desired learning outcome. For this assessment, you will implement these considerations in an educational environment of your choosing.
Take time to review educational theories that you have studied in prior courses or used in your work. Do additional research on educational theories and approaches as necessary.
Optional: Practice implementing these considerations in the Vila Health challenge provided in the Resources before beginning your work here.
As you prepare to complete this assessment, you may want to think about other related issues to deepen your understanding or broaden your viewpoint. You are encouraged to consider the questions below and discuss them with a fellow learner, a work associate, an interested friend, or a member of your professional community.
Note that these questions are for your own development and exploration and do not need to be completed or submitted as part of your assessment.
Think about some of the most effective educators you have learned with and from. What characteristics made these educators “good”?
How can nurse educators tailor their teaching methods in order to foster student engagement across multiple generations?
Have you ever completed a learning style inventory? If so, do you feel like it adequately assessed your learning style? Why or why not? (If you have not completed one, you might want to search for a free inventory online to see how its results align with your self-knowledge.)
How can you prepare yourself to be a culturally competent educator?
For this assessment, you will create a 5–7-page high-level teaching plan in which you do the following:
Select a topic for a course that you would like to teach in an educational environment. (For example, maybe you would like to be a nursing instructor in an institution of higher learning, a staff development educator in a clinical facility, or a patient educator in a hospital.) Briefly describe your course and the environment that you will utilize for teaching. Also describe the intended audience for your course.
Select an educational theory that you could use to guide the development of your course. Describe the key points of the theory you selected and explain why you think this theory fits the topic, audience, and context of your course.
Be sure to cite textbooks or articles from peer-reviewed journals to support your choice.
Identify and discuss potential diversity in the group that you anticipate teaching. (Diversity can include multiculturalism, age, gender, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, Limited English Proficiency (LEP), or other cultural barriers that you feel could impact your learning environment.)
Use current research to describe how you will address these issues in your learning environment.
Describe how you will manage conflict in the classroom that may arise from the anticipated diversity among learners.
Format: 12-point Times New Roman or Arial font, double-spaced in Microsoft Word.
Length: 5–7 pages, plus a title page and a references page.
Use correct APA format, including running head, page numbers, and a title page.
Writing should be free of grammar and spelling errors that distract from content -
