  • “Improving the Intro, Problem Statement, and Purpose Statement in a Draft Proposal”

The draft proposal is written and it has some comments for edits from the professor, below is some examples of the edits mentioned.
    – The intro should introduce the topic with a focus on the aspect that you will address, the current research, and the gap in knowledge on the topic (which is what your research will address). The known research and gap are critical in a proposal intro (as opposed to the intro of a research paper).
    – The Problem Statement should be one sentence. If I asked you in to tell me the problem in one sentence, what would it be?
    – The Purpose Statement should be one sentence. It gives the purpose of this research – how it fills the gap in research relating to the problem that your research will cover.

    PART 1
Using the data (see attched file graph )provided to you, answer the following questions. Record your answers on a Word document.
As the supervisor of this nursing home, how do you interpret this data? What is it telling you? Give specific examples in your comparison of the data sets.
What are the strengths and weaknesses of the data? Give at least one example of each.
“Any stage 3, stage 4, or unstageable pressure ulcers acquired after admission/presentation to a health care setting” (National Quality Forum, 2016) is considered a ‘Never Event’. What is a ‘Never Event’? What does that mean to your facility? (https://psnet.ahrq.gov/primer/never-events#:~:text=The%20term%20%22Never%20Event%22%20was,surgery%E2%80%94that%20should%20never%20occurLinks to an external site..)
    PART 2
As the nursing home supervisor, you recognize the need for a process improvement plan based on this data. After speaking to your staff about best practices related to care of the immobilized client, you discover your facility has not been stocking skin barrier cream, and the UAPs have not been repositioning the residents per policy. Instead of taking disciplinary action against the staff at this time, you elect to implement an intensive education effort for the entire facility. RNs, LPNs, and UAPs will attend the same training.
Research and devise a comprehensive education plan to address the frequency of pressure injuries at your facility. The teaching plan should include, at a minimum:
The proper use of barrier cream (How and when is it applied? Who can apply it?)
A minimum of 6 specific complications of immobility (Do not list ‘respiratory complications’. Be specific).
A minimum of 6 interventions to prevent the complications
Proper ergonomics while moving or repositioning clients
A plan to follow-up with your staff to assess the effectiveness of your in-service should also be included. How will you know your interventions were effective? What will you do if you find they were not?
    GUIDELINES:
Submit Parts 1 and 2 at the same time as part of the same project.
Give credit to your sources using APA 7th edition format.
Use both in-text citations and a reference page.
