Title: Correlation and Simple Linear Regression Analysis of Father-Son Heights

150 pairs of father-son heights (in inches) are given in Spreadsheet “Task 7”. The data are rounded to the nearest 0.1 inch.
Question 1  Perform a correlation analysis on the data. Test, at a 5% level of
significance, whether there is a linear relationship between the father’s height (X) and the son’s height (Y). If the test is significant, perform a further test on whether Corr(X,Y) is significantly greater than 0.36 at the 5% and 1% levels of significance, respectively.
Question 2  Perform a simple linear regression analysis on the data. Find the estimated
regression equation and the predicted value and a 95% prediction interval for the son’s height if his father is 65 inches tall. Without performing further statistical analysis, describe how you may improve the regression analysis.
