Select one of the fifty articles from The Little Norton Reader and develop an argumentative, research-based paper that addresses the broader topic in the primary article you have chosen. The paper should both critically examine the author’s perspectives on this subject and supply your own argument, which should be backed up by additional and relevant research to deepen or expand the discussion.
As modeled on Reading Responses, the body of your paper should provide a thorough summary and analysis of the primary article; this must Include the proper use of summarizing, paraphrasing, direct quotations, and in-text citations that all correspond with your Works Cited Page.
In addition to your textual analysis of the primary article, your essay should thoughtfully explore five outside sources, containing the most relevant and persuasive evidence/research, in order to more deeply convey your argument related to the topic. Remember, all sources must be listed on your Works Cited Page. Unlike Paper #1, your research must be scholarly and highly credible and come from either AVC’s Library Database EBSCOhost or Google Scholar. This research should be used to support or refute the ideas of the author and help you to develop your specific thesis.
