Dosage calculations determine the amount of medication to give a patient. This could include the number of pills, teaspoons, ounces, or milliliters necessary to achieve the desired effect. Beyond the individual dose, math is used to determine how much should be dispensed for a prescription.
Medical Assistants often are the relay between the physician and the pharmacy regarding prescriptions and dosing.
