In this scenario, you assume the identity of the authors you have selected. Imagine you are responding to interview questions from a newspaper of your time. The newspaper is interested in your perspective on how elements of contemporary society have influenced or are reflected in your writing. As you answer the interview questions, include excerpts from your work to support or illustrate your responses.
For each author you select, complete the following (answer these questions twice, from the perspective of both authors):
Prepare answers to the following questions totaling 700 to 1,050 words.
Respond to the interview questions as if you are the author.

Goal of the assignment:

To prepare to write the assignment, do the following:
Choose 2 authors from the early years of the modern era (pre-1950s) that explored the themes of internationalism and civil rights in their writing.
Pretend that (assume that…) you are the two authors you chose and that you are being interviewed for a newspaper article.In the interview:
The interviewer wants to know what each author thinks about the society of their time.
The interviewer also wants to know how particular elements of the society can be seen in their writing.
Choose excerpts that will illustrate each of your answers.

Respond to the interview questions as if you are each of the two authors. Remember to answer all questions for both authors for a total of 10 answers – 5 for each author):
