This week you are going to reflect upon the verbal and nonverbal communication specific to a microculture you belong to, such as a particular social club, university, workplace, team, etc. What are verbal and nonverbal norms or rules that are specific to this particular microculture? For example, are particular artifacts required or not allowed? Is there jargon that is important to the day-to-day function of your microculture? Explain 3 different verbal and 3 different nonverbal examples and why it is important to adhere to that particular norm or rule. How do these nonverbal and verbal examples contribute to cohesion within this microculture?
