Research Your Brand Overview & Directions
Throughout the course, you’ll be working on assignments related to one specific brand. By the end of the semester, you will have designed a licensing program in a new category for that brand. You can find the complete assignment in Module 7.
First you should have uploaded brand ideas and gotten approval from me for the brand you want to work on. For this week’s assignment, you will research your specific brand with the goal of getting a comprehensive understanding of its place in the market. You do NOT need to identify a category to license yet. In your paper, describe its:
brand personality
all its current product categories
the consumer profile
where it currently distributes product
the brand’s direct competitors
Note: Include images where appropriate to help illustrate your assessment of the brand. Images are not included in the final page count.
Use a variety of sources such the brand’s retail store, retailers where the brand sells, its website, their investor relations information (such as their annual report), their social media, and sources found in the LIM College databases, and industry publications such as WWD and Business of Fashion.
Research Paper Format
Your assignment submission should be 3-4 pages in length, not including cover page or images, in APA guidelines for layout, citation, and references. Include at least 4 references found in legitimate industry sources. An abstract is not required. Include an introduction, body, and conclusion. It should contain proper grammar, be free of spelling errors, and reflect critical thinking.
