Look through the items here and if something strikes your fancy, read/watch/listen to it (there’s a wide assortment). To earn credit, write a thoughtful response to the item you chose. Briefly summarize the material and show how you engaged with the material. How did the item make you think? How did the material you’ve studied so far help you understand it? How did the item enlarge your understanding of the course material? How did it resonate with your previous experience? Why should someone else engage with the item? (These are questions to get you started. This list is not intended to serve as a checklist.) Note: Some entries include two related items. For full credit, you must discuss both.
Rubric:
Writing counts. Use formal tone, proper grammar, punctuation, spelling, etc. Organize your ideas. Address specific points from the material; the details you include reflect your engagement with the material. The greater your level of engagement, the more points I am likely to award as your bonus. I may award more or fewer points depending on the complexity of the item and/or the depth of your engagement.
