Consistent with this course, you will not need to read every page of the assigned chapters. Rather, selected parts of these chapters will help you understand your topic and write your essay effectively. Your essay should be 3 pages, double-spaced/12 point font (750-words).
Based on your reading of Chapter 25, the documents from the Reader, and the “Committee” Documentary, discuss the tensions that fueled the Cold War between the United States and the Soviet Union. How did this geopolitical struggle produce the Red Scare at home? And, who became the domestic targets for the McCarthy era witch hunts?
