Read the case in the Harvard Business Publishing course pack titled Netflix and Dave Chappelle. As you read, highlight and take notes on the culture at Netflix shapes employee expectations for ethical behavior. Before answering the Analysis Questions, think about the issues and link them to what you’ve learned in MGMT 127.
Optional Background Materials
If you have access to Netflix, you could watch The Closer if you wish.
Also on Netflix is Disclosure, which is a documentary released in 2020 examining how transgender people are portrayed in film and television over the years, and how these depictions reflect and create anxiety about gender.
Neither of these Netflix shows are required and students can write excellent analyses without watching them.

Deliverable: Four pages maximum, double-spaced, 12 pt. font. Being limited to four pages means you’ll need to focus on the core concerns and must write concisely. Also, to earn full credit, students must answer all parts of all the questions completely.
Pro Tip: Don’t be shy about linking the case to course material. It’s expected and required. At the same time, be judicious about what you use to support your assertions. Tossing in as many concepts as you can does not show your understanding of the material. Instead, demonstrate your knowledge by answering the questions using a balanced blend of course materials and evidence from the case. Just be sure to let us know where you found the material in the course. Use citations as you’ve been doing for the Weekly Insights.
Academic Integrity
Remember, this is a final exam and, although you can meet with classmates to brainstorm ideas, you MAY NOT work together to write the paper submitted. In other words, it’s fine to talk over the case with classmates, but all writing should occur when you are not in contact with them.
