Chapters 4 and 5 explain multiple causes and origins of the American colonists’ desire for independence.  In 500-700 words, explain how colonists came to believe in the importance of individual freedom.  In other words, explain what ideas, events, or movements most contributed to the colonists’ belief that a proper government should protect an indivdual’s personal rights and liberties?  Because of the word count limitation, you are allowed to choose and explain those contributing factors you deem most important, as you will not be able to address them all.  As you write, be sure to include specific references to at least one primary source document or from your American Yawp reader.
