“Exploring the World of Children’s Literature: A Review of Diverse Genres”

Literature Review Final Project Choose a book from each of the following categories and write a review on each one. Picture Book, Poetry, Folklore, Modern Fantasy, Contemporary Realistic Fiction, Historical Fiction, Biography, Information Book, Multicultural or International Book, Controversial Book. These reviews demand careful attention to the book’s literary qualities as you develop skill as a knowledgeable reader and reviewer of children’s literature. Each review should reflect your personal response (taste) to the book as well as your sense of how it meets the criteria in the corresponding chapter in the textbook. For example, when reviewing the fantasy book, discuss the literary expectations of fantasy in the book that you are reviews as related to Chapter 10 in the textbook. Each review should be on its own page (typed and double spaces). Use the information from Children’s Literature, Briefly to guide the writing of your reviews. Please do not use any books that have already been assigned in this course or that you may have used for other projects
