Textual Research Proposal
(Please review Research Paper Prompt materials for guidance on choosing your text. The Text Proposal is a related but separate assignment from the Final Research Paper.)
Because your Textual Research Paper is an extensive, thorough demonstration of your ability to respond to a text and the question you have about said text, you are required to present your text and topic regarding your text to the class as a means of announcing your purpose in writing this paper. In your digital presentation submitted to Canvas, you will be expected to present the following:
A specific text and major question about said text regarding an analytical purpose.
Subtopics and sub-questions you will develop within your research paper (refer to prompt for further instruction on sub-topics/sub-questions).
Some academic information/facts/quotes (from your primary or secondary sources) you have researched so far that apply to your topic.
What you hope to achieve from doing research on your chosen text (besides a good grade).
You may present your topic in any fashion you are most comfortable with, including:
PowerPoint Presentation (with audio or video if possible, but not required)
A short video/explainer
Posterboard “video”
Any other medium you feel would be relevant to the assignment
You will be graded on the following:
Both the presentation AND a one-page summary of your presentation that breaks down the text and analytical discussion you are proposing. This can be in the form of a comprehensive outline or a one/two-paragraph breakdown of the presentation.
