Each paragraph 5-8 sentences
The first paragraph should tell us what the problem is, what your proposed solution is, and how you suggest individuals get involved to make a change. This paragraph should also contain your thesis statement.
The second paragraph should focus on the problem at hand in a more detailed way. What aspect of this issue do you plan on discussing? Where does the issue occur? Why is it important to research this problem? Each of these should be addressed in paragraph two.
The third paragraph should outline the change(s) you will advocate for. What, specifically, do you want to change? Are you changing a way of thinking? Are you changing a law or laws? Whose mind or law(s) do you hope to change? Where will this change take place? All of these should be explained in paragraph three.
The fourth paragraph should deal with individual involvement. How do you propose individuals get involved to affect the changes you discussed in paragraph three? Who needs to be involved? Where? How? Be specific. For example, saying we should “get the government involved” is too broad, whereas “citizens should write their congressmen” or “citizens should contribute to organizations such as…” give specific details that are actually attainable goals
