Bioethics serves as a guiding framework for professionals to make
informed decisions when faced with challenging real-life situations. In
the context of this assignment, you will be given the chance to
thoroughly examine and analyze a case of your selection. This process
involves delving into ethical considerations and principles to arrive at
well-informed conclusions about the appropriate course of action. Once
submitted here, you will also post this case study on a discussion board
to allow consultation and critique.
Tasks
Choose any case from pp. 179–180, 211, or 254–257. (Indicate and cite the resource)
Clearly indicate at the beginning of your case study which case you are addressing.
Analyze the case in three parts.
Explain which bioethical principles are relevant and explain how each principle applies to the case.
Highlight where conflicts arise between the principles.
Explain what course of action you recommend and defend your response.
Explain why your chosen course of action is the better/best.
Make reference to the bioethical principles in your defense.
You may consult (and cite) class readings or other sources, but you are not required to.
Your case study should be 3–5 pages in length.
If you wish, revise your case study based on the peer feedback you received in the discussion forum.
Submit your completed case study for grading.
