Biography of an Old Testament .choose a figure from the Old Testament and write a short research paper that: (1) provides a brief overview of their life, and (2) discusses this individual’s contribution to the Jewish and/or Christian traditions. In your paper you must identify where this person appears in scripture. it will be graded on the basis of your interaction with the biblical passage itself (primary source) and your utilization of secondary sources. Details: Length: 4 pages (inclusive of footnotes) Your paper must include a minimum of two different secondary sources (in addition to your primary source, which is the Bible). the ESSAY SHOULD BE: 1. Clear: well-organized, with a clearly stated thesis or summary statement contained in the introduction and re-stated in the conclusion. This thesis must be supported in the main text (body) of your paper by appropriate historical evidence (both primary and secondary sources). The paper should contain easy-to-follow transitions from one idea to another. The reader should not have to wonder, “Where did this come from?” 2. Clean: Your work should be written in standard written English, in a 12-point standard font such as Times New Roman, with margins (top, bottom, sides) of about one inch. It should be double-spaced, with paragraph tabs of five or six spaces. You should start new paragraphs where there are logical breaks in your thought. 3. Accurately Referenced: For each work to which your paper refers, you should include references. please use University of Chicago/Turabian style (use of footnotes). MUST include a bibliography or reference list of all sources consulted at the end of the paper. A good place to start is to look at a few Bible Dictionaries such as the Anchor Bible Dictionary .
